At Gamescon today, NetherRealm Studios revealed a new character for their DC Fighter, Injustice: God Among Us, Catwoman. Her combos rely on her agility, claw attacks and using her whip as well. She joins Superman, The Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman, Solomon Grundy, Harley Quinn, Nightwing and Cyborg. Below you can view her trailer.
The game is slated to be released in 2013.

Some new information has emerged about Borderlands 2’s fifth character class; the Mechromancer.
The Mechromancer is a kind of cyber punk-looking character with goggles, pigtails and a robotic arms, capable of summoning a giant robot called Deathtrap that when released, draws fire away from the player. Currently still unnamed, Gearbox described her as their “cutest” design ever and her skill tree is being designed around how great players are in the game.

Just Add Water unveiled a screenshot for the upcoming Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD remake today, on its official Facebook page. Unlike most HD editions of old games as of late, Abe’s Oddysee is being rebuilt from the ground up.
The game’s first demonstration will be shown at Eurogamer Expo, sometime during the 27th-30th of September, at the Earls Court in London. The biggest news is that at the convention, the developers will be revealing the most popular name for the game that fans voted on (that’s if you submitted an idea before tomorrow’s deadline). If you want to vote, check out the following link. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD (which probably won’t be the title) will be out sometime next year!

With the public beta for SuperBot Entertainment’s PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale almost upon us, the PlayStation blog has unveiled a video that shows off some neat tricks for a fan favorite from the original PS era, PaRappa the Rapper. His playstyle draws from his love of music, skateboarding abilities, and rapid kung-fu moves.
PaRappa’s impressive mobility makes it easy for him to get in close and wail on his opponent(s). This is great because he’s primarily a close range fighter. One of our paper-thin friend’s specials has him dropping a boombox (Boxxy Boy from the two games) and generates AP. This move, however, can also be used by the opponent(s). PaRappa’s level 1 attack is a quick, but short range flip kick from his skateboard. His level 2 attack has him riding on his skateboard (FYI, he can be controlled during this) for a distance on the screen. Lastly, we have the level 3 attack, which changes the screen to a concert, reminiscent of his game. The cool thing about this move is that it’s one of the few screen clearing specials in the game!

The Metal Gear Solid series saw an HD compilation released back in November ’11. Now, for those of you who haven’t bought the triple pack that had Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker, a digital version will also be available.
The first two games available will be Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, releasing separately on August 21st. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be released the following week, on August 28th. If you can hold off on buying them separately, you can collect all three games on the 28th in a PSN-exclusive bundle. There’s no info right now on the pricing for the individual items. During the last weekend we at Broken Joysticks got the opportunity to visit Con bravo down in the Hamilton Ontario area as our readership is already aware – and let me give a shout out saying it was one of the best con experiences that we have ever covered. Meeting the Special Guests, the con goers themselves, and the staff was nothing short of epic amounts of fun – and we’ve made a note to put this down as one of our favoured cons for the future.
While the big coverage will be coming out as the week goes on, including interviews with Spoony, Doug, and others from Channel Awesome, we’d like to make a special note on something that we usually find more then a little mundane that we thought was exceptionally well done at this con – the gaming.Read More

Well, let’s start by saying that if you enjoy PC FPS games you have already heard of Hard Reset, as the game came out last year and had a few good weeks of buzz around it then, we are reviewing the just released extended version.

NarcoTerror is a topdown (mostly) dual stick shooter from the brand new publisher Rubicon, coming to XBL, PSN, and PC download platforms later this year.
The concept of the game is to turn the 80’s action movie Commando into a twin stick shooter, which it succeeds at by using a jungle setting, loads of crazy high powered weapons, and a whole lot of fun explosions from satchel charges and grenades. Also following the 80’s motif all the on screen HUD elements have a slick retro font and effect on them.

After four games in the series that have stuck to the track day, racing career formula, Forza Horizon is out to bring open road racing to the tried and true gameplay that fans have enjoyed for years now.
The playable race at the show was a nice mellow country road, mostly two lanes with a few small four lane areas. Now I know I said the road was mellow, that is until the race started… So as it turns out when you bring a Viper onto a quiet little road, quiet goes right out the window.
The game looks great, with very, very detailed car models, good roadside vistas and even damage models.
All the cars sound like the real world versions, which is to say they sound like “The god of thunder gargling nails.”

A rumor brought to Broken Joysticks’s attention this afternoon states that the hardware manufacturer will demo an unfinished prototype piece of hardware at tonight’s press conference in a little under three hours.
Rumblings on the show floor indicate that this may be an unfinished version of Sony’s next home console code-named Orbis. Little else is known about this reveal but the entire world will soon get its first glimpse at a new piece of Sony hardware at nine Eastern tonight.

How many of us have had that “just one more” experience from a game? Just about any loot drop game sorta drives those feelings, finding yourself up at ungodly hours just trying to find that one piece to complete your gear.
