Sony’s Battle Royale Delayed Until November

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Kratos, Nathan Drake and company will have to wait a little while longer before they will be brawling it out on the PS Vita and PS3. PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale has officially been delayed until November20th in North America and 21st/22nd for Europe.

The announcement comes after a mysterious post on the PlayStation Blog confirming the delay was pulled. Not before eagle eyed fans could take screen capture outing the delay. Sony says that the extra time will give the development team time to polish the game based upon feedback they received during the closed beta.

In part the post reads:

“We also know our fans have high expectations for this title, and to that end, we have decided to move the release date to November 20th, 2012 for North America (including Canada) and Latin America territories. This will let us spend more time polishing and tuning the game, and it will give us a chance to incorporate some of the great feedback we’re receiving from the current limited beta”

Sleeping Dogs Won’t Be So Sleepy With Six Months Of DLC

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Seung Lee

It’s a recent business practice that I can’t stand: creating “new” content for purchase immediately after a game releases. Capcom has been guilty of doing this for a while (see Street Fighter x Tekken), and now Square-Enix is going to join in on the trend. Sleeping Dogs will have six months of planned DLC, which is already frustrating to hear.

I can appreciate wanting to extend the lifespan of your game, but not when the DLC in question seems to consist of nothing but clothing packs and weapon packs. You can expect a number of downloads for Sleeping Dogs, such as a Retro Triad Pack that features a “killer old school outfit with its own player buffs and funky kung-fu van.” Then, in September, there’ll be a high-speed Racing Pack and a SWAT Pack. So, the DLC seems to be somewhat cosmetic and unimpressive for those who simply want to play the game. I suppose if you really enjoy Sleeping Dogs, that you might want to check this DLC out, depending on how much it costs.

See Square-Enix’s press release on the matter by reading more.

Assassin’s Creed III For PC Will Be Stalking Templars Nov 20th

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Les Major

Ubisoft has confirmed there will be a PC release of Assassin’s Creed III in addition to it’s other versions. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are set for a Halloween release of October 31st with the Wii U version following up as a release title for Nintendo’s new console. The PC version will be released November 20th.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th  century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton,  of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the  Assassins and Templars. The game stars Connor as an Assassin in the war for  liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date.

With an all new game engine and fresh animations not only does it sound like ACIII will be a smoother experience but the American Revolution backdrop looks fantastic with the more we see of the game. Including such amazing new features as naval warfare the sequel is living up to the expectations of improving the franchise with each new release.

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Matthew Regier

Welcome to the island Chernarus, a 225 km² post-Soviet island state, a land that is one of the few living places that hasn’t been infected by the virus that turns its citizens into ferocious zombies. Struggling each day in order to survive in this new world, there are survivors. They are few left because the world’s population is almost all reanimated dead. On Chernarus basic supplies like water and food must be scavenged, and without a weapon you won’t be able to defend yourself  from the walking dead and each other.

Gearbox Reveals More Details On The Mechromancer

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

Some new information has emerged about Borderlands 2’s fifth character class; the Mechromancer.

The Mechromancer is a kind of cyber punk-looking character with goggles,  pigtails and a robotic arms, capable of summoning a giant robot called Deathtrap that when released, draws fire away from the player. Currently still unnamed, Gearbox described her as their “cutest” design ever and her skill tree is being designed around how great players are in the game.

Gran Turismo 6 Producer Won’t Announce Release Date Just Yet

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Kazunori Yamauchi the producer behind Sony’s flagship racing title, Gran Turismo, made an appearance during the 2012 Gran Turismo Academy, a 2,000+ player tournament for his latest racer. During his time at the event he was asked about the lack of DLC for GT5 and whether or not GT6 would be announced any time soon. He acknowledged that GT6 is under development but hesitated to provide a release date or any additional details because he fears that if he misses his projections fans will feel that the project has been delayed.

Gran Turismo 5 was announced at E3 2005 alongside the PlayStation 3. Sony’s latest realistic racer underwent a grueling 5 year development cycle that saw very little information surface, save for 2008’s GT Prologue,  a sort-of paid demo version, and a breadth of information released before the game’s 2010 release.

Could we see the reveal of GT6 alongside Orbis/PS4?
