Goku Black Joins The Roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ

The latest fighter to join the upcoming brawler Dragon Ball Fighter Z is none other than a permutation of Goku, the rose form of Dragon Ball Super’s Goku Black. 

Namco released a brief trailer showing Goku Black using various Ki energy blade techniques including an energy scythe and an energy sword. Also included is a team-up attack with Shin that unleashes a devastating charged Ki ball. 

Dragon Ball Fighter Z will be released on January 28th – just three weeks away – for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Best Games We Played Runner-Up: Persona 5

This past year saw a lot of major releases in quick succession. From the scary corridors of Resident Evil 7 this past February, or the whirlwind of the Nintendo Switch launch in March or the constant hype rush of new trailers and news that is E3 – there was a lot to be excited about. Wedged in-between all of this was Atlus’ long awaited JRPG sequel, Persona 5, debuting nearly 3 years after its initial Winter 2014 target date. Tori Rose takes a look back at one of Atlus’ big releases and recounts what worked and didn’t work in this high school simulator / monster battling JRPG mash-up.

2017 was the year in which even our power fantasies came with inextricable baggage. Much like its predecessors, Persona 5 was designed from the ground up to be a power fantasy for its teenage audience. Its central premise of forcing a change of heart onto others by your own hand is a potent one indeed, and would have been more than compelling enough on its own, but Persona 5 has a very different spirit than its predecessors.

The game masterfully paints you and your group of friends as outcasts, thieves, and criminals of all sorts. It does everything in its power to make the player feel like the world does not appreciate them and is wrongly turned against them, and such is the justification for their actions. And who comprises this band of outcasts? Perhaps those who actually do face discrimination in Japanese society, such as queer people, those not of Japanese descent, or perhaps differently-abled people? No, of course not – this is Atlus, so the protagonists are on average all releatively-privileged heterosexual, cisgender Japanese youth. You may even start to realize that the narrative constructed around the game’s Phantom Thieves is suspiciously similar to the one used by the very oppressors of those aforementioned marginalized groups. Yet in spite of all that… there’s something about Persona 5 that makes it hard to ignore just how well it succeeds at selling that fantasy. Even labouring under all those criticisms, the game still makes its central premise deliciously tantalizing, especially in a year in which the desire to change the hearts of the evil and powerful is more desirable than ever.

Persona 5 is still a masterwork of JRPG design, with a mechanics sets that interweave in countless interesting ways to create an core macro-level gameplay loop that is deep, varied, and downright addictive. And how appropriate it is to describe this game as a drug – pulling you in with its intoxicating power fantasy, latching onto you with its mechanics of encouraging endless experimentation, and always having you coming back to get that sweet drip-feed of well-crafted narrative nectar. Persona 5 is a masterpiece, but in 2017, we can no longer ignore the problems in the media we consume.

The Best Games We Played 2017: Nier Automata

As 2017 comes to a close, it is a time to reflect on the year, both the good and the bad. While there were many downs and it can be easy to focus on the negatives in a year, especially one as rough as this, we need to remind ourselves of the positive things that came out in a year and how they affected us. There were so many great video games that came out this year that all deserved to be recognized, but one that really stuck out to me in many ways was Nier: Automata from Platinum Games and Square Enix.

Nier: Automata, to me, was more than just a game, it was an experience and work of art. All the beautiful surroundings of the world, the characters, the fluid and fun gameplay, and the story suck you in and leave you begging for more, which made its multiple endings all the more desirable to get to and see, it all just sucked me in.

What really affected me though, was the message and that message was stated beautifully in the game with one quote:

“What is it that separates machines from androids like us? The machine has gained emotion…Consciousness. The final screams they summon on the edge of death…They still echo within me”.

What makes something alive? What makes something different from being human? What does it take to have a soul? I love and media that makes me question what makes us different from other beings and where the line is between using a tool and abusing a being with feeling and sentience that deserves dignity and respect and even love. Even more, is war, pain and causing hurt really the right thing in the end? Do the ends really justify the means? Your enemy might be more like you than you think.

We need as humans to take a step back and reflect on messages like this. We need to see how we affect one another, how we affect the world and how we need to show respect, tolerance and even love more. What a better time to do this than as the year comes to a close? Maybe we could all use the message of this game and make 2018 just a little less painful and be just a little more mindful of how we treat others, even those we may not be able to relate to.

That is why Nier: Automata is one of my favorite games of the year. Cool, fun to play and most of all, poignant. It is really the type of game that really shows how games have evolved from simple “toys” to works of important art and made me think just a little harder of my effect on others.

The Best Games We Played 2017: A Hat In Time

Contributor Victoria Rose shares her thoughts on the best game she played this year – A Hat In Time. Over the next week, into early 2017, our editors will be sharing their picks for the best game they played this year. They’ll also be sharing some of their choices for runner-up. “The Best Games We Played 2017” is a reflection of the year that was in interactive entertainment for our editors and contributors. To be eligible for mention in TBGWP 2017 a title need not be released this year, our editors and contributors simply must have played it.

2017 was the year in which we all desperately needed a break that we never got. Something to take our minds off of the awfulness of the world around us and remind us what in life makes us happy. A Hat in Time is the closest thing that I got to that break in 2017, but even it couldn’t escape getting marred by scandal. On its own merits, A Hat in Time is a joyous, adorable, expertly-designed 3D platforming treasure that has been polished to a mirror shine, and a game which can confidently stand alongside titans of its genre. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had this much fun with a platformer. Each of the game’s worlds is fleshed out with vibrant, memorable characters and unique level designs. The locomotion controls are more logical and approachable than that of its contemporary Super Mario Odyssey while offering just as much depth to its platforming. The latter may be a more professionally-made game with far more content and development talent, but it simply cannot match the care put into each level and world of A Hat in Time. I adore every moment of this game, and we are richer for its existence.

However, it would not be 2017 without a bad apple spoiling even the sweetest of bunches. It is not responsible nor ethical to discuss A Hat in Time without condemning the actions of project lead Jonas Kaerlav. Stealing artists’ work while creating whole websites to defame and silence them, firing members of the team for petty and personal reasons, and refusing to remove vocal white supremacist Jon Jafari as a voice actor in the game, even after Playtonic Games did the right thing and removed him from their own game’s voice actor lineup. This man has a rap sheet a mile long, and it is impossible not to bring up when discussing the game. The fact that A Hat in Time is one of the best platformers of all time with level and input design unmatched amongst its peers does not matter when those same designer associates with Nazi sympathizers and refuses to pay artists. Real lives are affected here, and it is irresponsible to ignore that. And that is a damn shame because A Hat in Time truly is a masterpiece. It’s undoubtedly my favorite game of the year, and I want to play through the game a dozen more times right away. I want to cosplay Hat Kid. I want to draw fanart. I want to design my own games inspired by this. I WANT to love this game. But sometimes life is more complicated than that. Sometimes you have to accept that even the things you love bear a tragic hamartia. Sometimes, life can just be one nasty, foul 2017.

The Elder Scrolls Online Will Get New Expansion and 3 DLC Add-Ons In 2018

Great news for the thousands of residents of the online-only version of Tamriel – your world is about to get a lot bigger with the announcement of 5 new pieces of add-on content coming next year.

Over on the official Elder Scrolls Online website, game director Matt Firor posted his yearly letter to the community. Most of the letter is a retrospective of major content drops that took place in 2017 – The Horns of Reach DLC, Clockwork City DLC and of course the Morrowind Expansion as well as mentions of the New Life Celebration, Mid-Year Mayhem and Witches Festival events.

What is probably the most interesting to veteran players like myself is the last section of the letter, “Looking Forward to 2018”.Mr.Firor surprises us with a tantalizing look at what is to come in the next 12 months: 3 add-on DLCs and a fully new “chapter” (read: expansion). In early 2018 Zenimax will lift the veil of secrecy surrounding “Dragon Bones”, a Nord themed dungeon DLC add-on pack. Along with the two new dungeons, we’re also due for several quality of life updates including “one often requested feature”.

Here’s the full quote about what is to come:

I’m very happy to say that you can expect three more DLCs and a full new Chapter for ESO in 2018. We’re not slowing down, at all. There’s so much to do and explore in Tamriel, and we are very excited to take you to some highly-requested areas next year.

We’ll officially announce the first DLC of 2018 just after the first of the year, but here’s a small preview: It’s a dungeon-based DLC called The Elder Scrolls Online: Dragon Bones. As the name implies, it is Nord-based in theme, with each of the two dungeons expanding upon the lore of that region.

Coming with Dragon Bones is an update full of quality-of-life improvements and additions, including at least one long-awaited feature that everyone who cares about their characters’ appearance will love and the Homestead storage items I talked about earlier. We’ll give you more details on this update when it launches on the PTS early (very early) next year.

It’s not always about new content, of course—we’ll be spending some time adding more improvements and fixing any outstanding issues and bugs. Stay tuned for the PTS patch notes for updates on those and, obviously, keep your comments coming on the forums and elsewhere. We value your feedback and take it very seriously.“

Where do you think 2018 will take our adventuring characters across Tamriel? Could we possibly revisit Cyrodil from TES IV? Perhaps Western Skyrim will be added to the game finally, joining the existing Earmarch province. Considering that we got both Eastern and Western Skyrim Scout outfits this past year and the new add-on DLC is called “Dragon Bones”… Hmmmmm….

That last part is pure speculation on my part, we won’t know anything official until Zennimax Online announces more details sometime in 2018. Leave your comments below, I’d love to hear other player’s speculation about where the game is going next.

New Titanfall 2 Update Brings Holiday Themed Decals, New Playlist and New Weapon Skins

After nearly a year and a half of release, I figured that the days of Titanfall 2 updates were over but apparently not. Next week the next update for Respawn Entertainment’s criminally under-played mech shooter, dubbed Operation Endeavor brings a whole pile of smaller content drops just in time for the holidays. 

Six weapons will be receiving new Elite Warpaint skins which will be available for $4.99 USD or $19.99 USD for all six. 

These new skins include: 

  • Heat Sink EM-4 Cold War 
  • Masterwork D-2 Double Take 
  • Phantom Longbow DMR 
  • Purple Fade G2AS 
  • Crimson Fury R-21 Carbine 
  • Sky R-97 

Two new banners will be made available in standard and gradient quality: “Before Grapple” and “Sliegh-er”. 

Also coming just in time for the snow to start falling are a set of tweaked gameplay modes with modified rule sets. It might not be that new map you wanted for the holiday update or an entirely brand new mode but what we do get is Last Titan Standing with huge cooldown and health changes. Also coming to Titanfall is the classic arena FPS mode, Rocket Arena! Old school fans of the Quake series might have a reason to check out TF2’s latest patch. 

Here’s a full breakdown of the new modes: 

  • Turbo LTS – Last Titan Standing gametype with double core generation and dash regen rates. Everyone also has Turbo Engine kit. 
  • Spicy Attrition – Attrition where everyone’s Ordnance ability is replaced with Ticks. 
  • The Otherside – All Phase Attrition. 
  • Rocket Arena – Live Fire with modified EPGs and autopistols. 
  • Turbo Titan Brawl – Titan Brawl with double core generation and dash regen rates. Everyone also has Turbo Engine kit.

I know a lot of the community were not happy with the huge Grapple nerf, meaning no more swinging around like your pilot belongs in Attack on Titan. Respawn has at least reverted a bit of that nerf, in that the Grapple ability can now store two charges.

How Death Stranding Subverts a Common Gameplay Mechanic

There once was an explosion within a trailer that ignited a thousand online debates. There once was an explosion within a trailer that confused the hell out of us. The next explosion is brief details about how Death Stranding will play and how the game subverts a very common gameplay mechanic – death itself. 

In a recent interview with IGN.com Hideo Kojima detailed the place that protagonist Sam visits after the large explosion in the latest trailer for Death Stranding is actually a sort of purgatory.  In this world of beaches and water Sam will explore purgatory in a first-person perspective until it is time for him to return to his body. We don’t know how this dimensional travel is possible (is it the babies?? I bet it’s the babies!) but we do know it is due to a “special ability” that Sam possess. 

Kojima contrasted this mechanic with the arcades of the past, where death was a means to suck another quarter from the player: 

“Games started over 40 years ago with arcades. When the player dies, it’s game over. You continue, and time goes back to before you die. You can die as many times as you want, but you always go back to a little bit before you die. That was a mechanic made specifically for putting in coins, and it hasn’t changed since then.”

Aside from digitized versions of Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro, and Mads Mikkelsen, the spotlight has been fixed on the various babies we’ve seen in each of the three trailers. During the interview with IGN, Hideo Kojima confirmed that the baby that washes up on the shores in trailer 1, the baby held by Del Toro in trailer 2 and the baby pointing finger guns in Reedus’ esophagus are one in the same. We also now know that the babies will tie into the purgatory mechanic somehow.’ 

Still no definitive answers about the mysteries of Death Stranding but certainly now we have a lot more pieces of the puzzles. We know that the game takes place in the near future and that the rapid aging rain and the monsters that attacked the corpse disposal crew are common knowledge. We know a little bit more about the babies. We also know that gameplay will be split between third-person open world action while Sam is alive and that death does not mean “game over” but will affect the overall game world. 

Perhaps we will see actually Death Stranding gameplay at next June’s E3 or perhaps Kojima will make a surprise appearance at GDC 2018, like he did at GDC 2013 to promote The Phantom Pain. Rumor has it that Death Stranding is currently targeting a Q4 2018 release window, so the hype should just keep building. 

Oh and all of our internet theories about the baby being a clone of Sam, Mads being the real protagonist or Del Toro being the game’s villain? Kojima eats that shit up and loves every second of it. 

“I think it’s fun, I really think it’s fun. It’s one of the unique things about games, that you can start having fun with people before you release the game. There are things I intentionally put there so that I can start this back and forth process with players, because I think it’s fun for everyone.”

Death Stranding’s New Trailer Is All Sorts of What The $@#!

Hideo Kojima continues his reputation for mystery and sheer WTF-ery with a brand-new trailer for Death Stranding debuted during The Game Awards. Unlike the debut E3 2016 glimpse at the game or the 2016 Game Awards trailer, this latest trailer gives us quite a few clues about possible gameplay mechanics and a few small strands of the storyline. 

We now know that Norman Reedus’ character is named Sam and that his character will witness a horrific near future sci-fi disaster. Sam and his fellow team members are assaulted by an invisible enemy that can make their victims dissolve into nothingness almost instantly.  During the attack, Sam tells his teammates to stop breathing, presumably because the invisible enemies’ human dissolution powers are airborne. It wouldn’t be a Death Stranding without an appearance from those mysterious babies. This time around we see two things of relevance: 1) That the guy who is about to meet his doom begins to stab his stomach instead of say, going for the throat. 2) Just as Sam is about to meet his maker, the baby attached to his machine becomes fused with his body (just like we saw in the initial E3 2016 trailer). 

There is a lot more to dissect from this lengthy Death Stranding trailer which will keep Kojima fans guessing until its eventual release. Just like with the Metal Gear Solid V trailers, it is completely possible that Death Stranding‘s marketing is full of fake-outs, misdirection and not enough information for us to know for sure. Is Sam even the real protagonist? What is the text written on his power armor? What is up with the babies? 

Start pausing the trailer, squinting and guessing for months or possibly years.

Devil May Cry HD Collection Coming To PS4, Xbox & PC In March 2018

Capcom, not content with reviving the Mega Man franchise to much fan hype and positive coverage, has announced that the Devil May Cry HD Collection will be making its way to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 13th. 

This collection features up-rez’d ports of the 2001 PS2 original Devil May Cry, 2002’s Devil May Cry 2 and 2005’s Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. All three of these games have enough demon slaying, arcade-style combo action that it’ll make you hungry enough for a slice of pizza (yes, I’m making the obvious DMC 3 references now). 

Greasy Pepperoni Goodness in HD! 

Originally the Devil May Cry HD Collection was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in April 2012. Ninja Theory’s reboot of the franchise D.M.C  was also ported to 8th generation consoles back in 2015 but if recent leaks are to be believed, we could see a continuation of the original white-haired Dante’s story with the announcement of Devil May Cry 5 at The Game Awards later tonight.

Nier: Automata Director Yoko Taro Collaborates With Tiny Metal Developers For Promo

Get ready for the promotional crossover you didn’t know you needed in your life – Director of Nier: Automata Yoko Taro alongside the Director / Producer of the upcoming Tiny Metal Hiroki Yura, promoting the upcoming December 21st release of Tiny Metal on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. 

It is clear from the get-go that Yoko Taro didn’t play more than 5 minutes of the tutorial, as he states as much several times throughout the 2-minute video. When asked to comment about the soundtrack, Taro unabashedly admits that he couldn’t really hear it during his brief gameplay session but promises that it must be amazing. To be honest, I’m not discouraged or even criticizing Yoko Taro here, this is exactly what I would expect from a crossover promotion featuring the director of Neir, and I love every second of it. 

Tiny Metal takes cues from Nintendo’s long-abandoned Advanced Wars franchise and seems to be an unofficial spiritual successor to it. It was recently delayed from its intended late November release date to the upcoming December 21st release window.

The Blue Bomber Returns With The Announcement of Mega Man 11

Capcom’s blue bomber will return late next year with the surprise announcement of Megan Man 11 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Sporting a striking modern visual style that sees Mega Man with a new slimmer profile, as well as an overhaul of the overall aesthetics of the long-running franchise. Gone are the NES style retro pixel style featured in Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. In their place is a visual style that marries the large proportion and colorful pallet of classic Mega Man games with current generation 3D graphics. 

Announced during the Mega Man 30th Live-Stream, MM11 isn’t the only new title staring Dr.Light’s greatest creation coming to the Nintendo Switch. The previously released Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will find their way to Nintendo’s first hybrid console.  Both of these collections will hit the Nintendo tablet in the Spring of 2018. Mega Man X, the futuristic SNES spin-off series will see all 8 titles in that franchise released on Switch sometime during Summer 2018.  

Also dropping next summer will be extensive details surrounding Mega Man 11 before the game is released during the second half of 2018. It seems that things just went from “Capcom has abandoned Mega Man” to “crank the hype level past 11” in the span of a single live stream.

Bungie Addresses Destiny 2 Community Concerns Before New DLC Launches

Destiny 2 developer Bungie canceled today’s promotional live stream for the upcoming Curse of Osiris DLC and instead addressed several of the concerns that the community has had. There’s been a lot of activity both within the Destiny 2 subreddit /r/DestinyTheGame and within the gaming enthusiast press surrounding the tacit XP throttling that Bungie was doing under the hood; as well as the subsequent doubling of XP required to level up once throttling was removed. 

Regarding Experience Points 

The devs admit that the newly introduced 160,000 XP requirement per level is too high to grind some activities and that Bungie are collecting data so that they can make further adjustments faster. More communication with the community about the inner workings of experience point in the future was also promised towards the end of the XP Points section of today’s blog post. 

“We were able to disable the system with a server-side change, but a new solution is now needed to rebalance XP in Destiny 2. We have begun that work, and will continue to provide updates to you about timelines and specifics…We already see that the newly adjusted 160K XP per level value means that leveling is too slow for some activities, and we have begun the process of collecting data and recalibrating XP earn rates to improve them as quickly as possible.” 

New Rarity For Weapons: Masterwork 

A brand-new tier of rarity for weapons beyond Legendary and Exotic is being added to Destiny 2 with the December patches, called Masterwork. This new class of rarity will have kill tracking as a baseline feature and will generate orbs for allies and the player upon scoring kills. Destiny 1 veterans asking for the return of randomized bonuses will be happy to learn that re-rollable Masterwork Traits are part of this new rarity. Unlike the traits in Destiny 1, Guardians won’t be fully healed or receive massive amounts of sniping damage like some D1 weapons provided but they should help differentiate the Masterwork weapons from regular legendaries. 

Here are some of the features of Masterwork weapons as provided by Bungie’s blog: 

  • Masterworks will have a few advantages over the baseline Legendary weapon: 
  • Track and display the number of kills with that weapon (with choice between total count or Crucible-only count) 
  • Generate orbs for you and your allies on multi-kills 
  • Add weapon stat bonuses that are selected randomly from a small pool and are re-rollable 
  • Masterworks drop from any source of Legendary weapons for characters above 250 Power 
  • Unwanted Masterworks can be dismantled into materials that can upgrade an existing Legendary Weapon into a Masterwork 
  • Raid and Trials of the Nine Weapons will have a very high chance to be Masterworks 
  • We have future plans to extend Masterworks to other gear and expose your kill counts in more places (e.g. Crucible kill screen) 

Vendor Changes 

Quality of life updates for Destiny 2’s various vendors is another big focus with the December 5 and December 12th patches. Once completing the game Guardians will be able to purchase exotic quality engrams for legendary shards. Common tokens that drop in all of the major hub worlds are having their drop rates increased by 100%. Also of note are changes to Xur – he will now decrypt exotic level engrams and once per week players can purchase a single Fated Engram that guarantees them an exotic weapon or piece of gear they don’t already own. Also returning from Destiny 1 is the “Three of Coins”, which has been simplified from its initial incarnation. The three of coins will boost the chances of finding an exotic for 4 hours and can be purchased from Xur during weekends. 

  • For players chasing a world Legendary or looking for Masterworks, Master Rahool will sell some of his rumored hoard of Legendary Engrams for Legendary Shards 
  • Common quality Destination Resource Tokens will have their drop rates increased to 100%, and values per Token increased as well (by 50% for common quality Tokens and 250% for rare quality Tokens) 
  • For players wanting to clear some Mod inventory space, Rare quality Mods will dismantle into Gunsmith Materials and have a chance to produce Legendary quality Mod Components 
  • Every week, you’ll be able to acquire one of the new Fated Engrams using Legendary Shards from Xur that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection 
  • A simpler Three of Coins that boosts Exotic drop rates from any source for 4 hours 

So Much More 

I highly recommend that any interested guardians (or potential guardians) head on over to Bungie’s recently released blog post and read all of the changes coming to the game themselves. Some of them are minor, like being able to dismantle mods at the gunsmith. Other changes, like the introduction of Masterwork weapons and changes to tokens, are going to have a much larger impact on Destiny 2’s end game. 

Is all of this enough to sate the hardcore fans who want D2 to be their forever game? I’m not sure. What I do know is that aside from the December 5th and 12th quality of life updates, Destiny 2 is also going to get a whole lot of new content with the release of Curse of Osiris on 5th alongside the first patch.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remastered PC Port Now Available

Square Enix has officially launched the Windows PC and PlayStation 4 port of Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Available exclusively through online retailers like Steam and the PlayStation Network, Star Ocean: The Last Hope takes all of the content from the 2009 original, adds all the extras from the 2010 PS3 release and gives it a touch-up thanks to brand new assets + support for up to 4K resolution. 

In addition to a 10% launch discount, Square is offering PC players a free “mini soundtrack” featuring select tracks from the game for those who purchase before December 12th. PlayStation owners have until January 8th to secure their digital bonuses which include a Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope PS4 theme and 12 profile avatars. The 10% launch discount will be discontinued on all platforms after December 12th however.

Activision Outlines Activities Coming In Destiny 2: The Curse of Osiris

In less than two weeks guardians from all around the solar system will be able to partake in the brand new content contained in Destiny 2‘s first expansion Curse of Osiris. Publisher Activision held a live stream a few days ago that outlined all of the new activities that await protectors of earth’s last city who are looking for something new to do. 

The largest public event ever within the Destiny franchise will call Mercury home, the stream revealed. Unlike other public events, Mercury’s will have multiple stages and players will need to progress through a series of objectives before receiving their loot. First up is the task of killing all of the gate-keepers who drop the keys needed to progress through the various islands of Mercury’s public event. From there, guardians will hop from island to island in order to achieve their objective. Activision was very clear that this isn’t solo content. If you don’t have someone to play with, the game will help match you with another guardian. 

Players from Destiny 1 might remember The Lighthouse, since its last appearance some changes have occurred. At The Lighthouse, Brother Vance will dispatch players on new activities that will help them solve the mysteries that await them on the surface of Mercury. End-game weapons will be available from within The Lighthouse as well, thanks to the assistance of a Vex “weapon wall”. 

Strike Missions will once again be woven into the overall narrative experience found in Curse of Osiris. Rather than simply receiving authorization to begin strikes, as happens in the vanilla D2 campaign, Strike Missions will have their own story components that will expand and service the larger narrative.  

Last up was the Infinite Forrest, a complicated Vex structure that is able to mimic the state of Mercy in the present, past and possibly even predict its future. Providing guardians with procedurally generated content, the Infinite Forrest will be different every time that they set foot within it.  Enemies from all of the combat factions can be recreated within the Infinite Forrest and each segment of Infinite Forrest encounters have been handcrafted so that they live up to Bungie’s level of polish.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite Online Mode Free For PlayStation Plus Members This Weekend

The Battle For Online Survival Begins! 

Capcom’s latest fighting game is getting a free weekend taking place tomorrow, November 24th through Monday the 27th.  To take part in this online-only trial run of Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite players must have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. 

Here is the official announcement as it was made on the Capcom-Unity blog: 

FREE MULTIPLAYER DEMO WEEKEND: 11/24 – 11/27 

For those wanting to try Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we have some great news for you! We’re hosting a free versus demo weekend from November 24 at 8am PST to November 27 at 8am PST, only on PlayStation 4 for PS+ members. All 30 launch characters will be available in this demo! 

Alongside the announcement of the free trial multiplayer weekend was confirmation that Venom, The Winter Soldier, and Black Widow would be joining the roster of fighters on December 9th. Each of these new combatants also has their own unique alternate costumes Anti-Venom for Spider-Man’s nemesis, James Barnes Costume for The Winter Soldier and Cosmonaut outfit for Black Widow.
