Legasista | Review

Posted on August 22, 2012 by Les Major

If you’re a fan of NIS games and enjoy action RPG’s like Secret of Mana, this is a game you may enjoy. While it doesn’t feature the vast explorable world like Secret of Mana featured, it does have the random dungeons and intense leveling you’ve come to expect from NIS. That being said, you may want to skip this review if you’re already planning to get the game. I’ll do my best to avoid spoilers but due to the gentle learning curve in the game it’s hard to not somewhat spoil the content of the first five worlds you visit. If you’ve already looked up the games features you’ll know what unlockables I’m referring to already I’m sure. So lets talk about the system Legasista uses first.Read More

Fighting game devolpers Arc System Works are winning over a lot of new fans with their take on the Midnight Channel in Persona 4 Arena but a console release for the return of The Midnight Carnival for Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core Plus is set for October, according to Andriasang.

Originally announced for a summer release, the game’s console homecoming on PSN and XBLA sees the return of Arc System Works’ first fighting game franchise, complete with all the bells and whistles of online play and HD graphics that one expects. But that isn’t all that’s being packed into this package.

The Expendables 2 Videogame Available Now On XBLA, PSN and PC

Posted on August 18, 2012 by Les Major

Expendables 2 just hit theatres and to coincide with that release the video game is on XBLA, PSN and PC now too! Available for 1200MSP on XBLA or $14.99 for the PSN or PC version, the game features four playable characters from the movies roster. Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) are available for four player co-op. Featuring twin stick combat and vehicular combat sequences too.

Our own Eric Bastelak wasn’t too impressed with the game unfortunately in his review however for hardcore fans of the franchise you may want to check it out just for the story. The video game ends off where The Expendables 2 movie begins. The video game focuses on an adventure to rescue an extremely valuable, kidnapped billionaire.

I’m loving the return of classic action movies and it’s great to see a series with so many big names brought together like this! I’ll definitely be checking out the movie soon, and I’m sure at some point I’ll be giving the demo to The Expendables 2 videogame a whirl too.

The game’s first demonstration will be shown at Eurogamer Expo, sometime during the 27th-30th of September, at the Earls Court in London. The biggest news is that at the convention, the developers will be revealing the most popular name for the game that fans voted on (that’s if you submitted an idea before tomorrow’s deadline). If you want to vote, check out the following linkOddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD (which probably won’t be the title) will be out sometime next year!

Online Multiplayer and Wallace Wells DLC Coming To Scott Pilgrim

Posted on August 9, 2012 by Les Major

Ubisoft’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World released way back when on August 25, 2010, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will be receiving a new DLC pack this month. This new download, which will cost 400 Microsoft Points, includes online multiplayer and Wallace, presumably as a playable character. This information comes from majornelson.com, which dates the Xbox 360 version’s release for August 19th. Ubisoft PR rep Alex Monney stated that details for the PS3 version are on the way.

With Wallace Wells as a playable character, it’s assumable that much like the Knives Chau DLC, he will have his own ending in the game. Wallace is Scott’s roommate from the comic series, so he should make for an interesting addition to the game’s cast. It’s also worth mentioning that the colored version of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life is being released this week.

Here’s Some New Details About Scourge: Outbreak

Posted on August 6, 2012 by Seung Lee

ScourgeOutbreak

If you don’t know what exactly Scourge: Outbreak is, I don’t blame you. I had no clue that it existed until I read an article about it. Scourge: Outbreak is a third-person shooter from a development team called Tragnarion Studios, and it’s being released on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac. The release date for it hasn’t been announced yet, but lead game designer Omar Salleh has unveiled some new screenshots and details on co-op today. Salleh’s blog post at the European PlayStation blog site revealed that his team’s upcoming game should be out in the next few months. He also went on to talk about being excited to see how players will enjoy the co-op mode.

That’s A Lot Of Levels For LittleBigPlanet

Posted on August 6, 2012 by Seung Lee

LBP

Media Molecule, the team behind LittleBigPlanet, has revealed today that seven million levels (and still going strong!) have been created across all of the games for the franchise. It hasn’t been too long since the very first LBP was released on the PS3 in ’08. Now, I’m not going to say each of these seven million levels are amazing, or worth your time to play, but you can’t say that you’re not getting bang for your buck with a LBP game.

Check out Media Molecule’s blog post celebrating the recent accomplishment here, and see the picture detailing it here.
