Metal Gear Rising Will Be Wonderful On Your Dark Days

Posted on February 12, 2013 by Eric Bastelak

Konami has released a wonderful new Metal Gear Rising trailer. It reminds me that regardless of financial difficulties I need to buy this game. Because no matter how dark the world seems there is something serene about hacking enemies to pieces. Call it morbid, call it whatever you want. Games are an interactive medium that help us gamers blow off steam. In my experience something like Rising will allow me to reduce stress, therefore causing less anger. What I love about this trailer is it shows just how much Konami gets this side of gaming culture. Right on Konami!

Injustice Battle Arena Week 1 Results And Shazam Confirmation

Posted on February 11, 2013 by Broken Joysticks

We mentioned last week about the Injustice Battle Arena site where fans get to vote who would win in a battle. The first week battles are over (Batman vs Bane and Wonder Woman vs Harley Quinn). The next week battles have been confirmed and Shazam, who was leaked a few week back has been confirmed as a playable character as he is matched up in the second week taking on The Flash. With Billy Batson’s inclusion this completes the list of characters from DC who were in Mortal Kombat vs DC (minus Darkseid). Also for week two The Joker will be squaring off against Lex Luther. You can vote at the official site here and being one of the first to cast your vote usually nets you a free item so take advantage. Below you can find the result videos of week 1 as well as the week 2 announcement which shows Shazam as a playable fighter. Injustice: Gods Among us is out April 16th.Read More

Codemasters Gives Us a Sneak Peak at GRID 2 With New Teaser

Posted on February 8, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Get your wheels spinning with a bit of a tease for Codemaster’s GRID 2. A very brief glimpse of gameplay was released on the company’s official YouTube channel with a promise of a full trailer next week, on Feb 14.

The new trailer only gives us a brief 44 second look at the game. We do see some pretty neat effects in action, including some rather convincing smoke effects – which at least impressed me. Honestly, it’s hard to tell with all of those fades to black going on. Sigh, I guess will just have to wait for the full trailer to really see what is going on under the hood!

GRID 2‘s selection of cars include handpicked icons from the last 40 years of automotive history. Players will race all over the world from Chicago to Paris to Abu Dhabi.

Grid 2 will ship to retail on May 28th in North America and will be available for the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360. Check out the teaser trailer after the jump.Read More

New Metal Gear Rising Weapons Trailer Released

Posted on February 7, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Do you want an early look at some of the badass weapons that can be unlocked in Metal Gear Rising Revenageance? Of course you do! Konami’s latest trailer gives up the goods.

The bosses in the Metal Gear franchise have always had access to insane weaponry. Whether it is Sniper Wolf’s rifle or Vulcan Raven’s gatling gun or Crying Wolf’s railgun, there have always been some awesome weapons of mass destruction at our disposal.

We already knew about the devastating polearm, as we unlocked it at the end of our one hour demo of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, last month. But did you know about the Pincer Blades or Tactical Sais? Each of these weapons can be upgraded and expanded upon using an in-game currency, as we already have detailed.

Check out the new trailer after the jump and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel where will be adding new trailers regularly.Read More

Is the Next Xbox Anti-Consumer?

Posted on February 7, 2013 by Joshua Rust

It’s not often that I like to express myself on rumors; with that being said, this one has floated around for a while: the elimination of used games. Now before you go grabbing your pitchforks and go on a witch hunt (keep them at arms reach though), this has not been confirmed by either Sony or Microsoft that it’s true.Read More

Travel Back To Base Camp In This Tomb Raider Video

Posted on February 6, 2013 by Joshua Rust

It’s officially less than a month until the release of one the most anticipated games on my list: Tomb Raider. While I’m not overly thrilled with the inclusion of multiplayer to a single player franchise, I won’t completely off it until I’ve played it.

In this new video that was released today from Square Enix & Crystal Dynamics, Lara will show you how upgrading your stats and weapons will allow further exploration into the island. As well as detailing what Base Camp offers you in means of interacting with other characters and upgrading Lara herself.

Are you as excited as we are? Tomb Raider launches on March 5th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Rumor Has It The Next Xbox Will Have Always On DRM

Posted on February 6, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Rumor has it that Microsoft will require a constant connection in order to use their next generation gaming console. Internet connections are almost ubiquitous now-a-days, as we live in an age where you can browse your favorite websites and play online multiplayer games at broadband speed through your phone. If these rumors are accurate then Microsoft will be taking an aggressive stance against not only piracy, but second hand games sales with the constant connection requirement in the Xbox Durango.

Edge Online brings us these latest tidbits about Redmond’s yet unannounced console. Some of this stuff we’ already knew or assumed – like the existence of a Blu-Ray drive in the console or the fact that the system will be a multi-core processor clocked at 1.6GHZ, designed by AMD. Also as speculated, the console will ship with a second generation Kinect Sensor. With rival Sony poised to fire the first shot in the next-generation race, tech specs and reports seem to be leaking from both companies at a brisk pace.Read More
