UnEpic | Review

Posted on April 14, 2014 by Les Major

If you’re a fan of Metroidvania titles, you know, games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for example, UnEpic is a wonderful exploration title you’ll probably enjoy very much! I’ve already gushed a little bit about the game before, but there is a lot more to be said about the game itself. Available both on Steam and on the Wii-U eShop, I took a look at the console release that is available thanks to EnjoyUp publishing the title on Nintendo’s latest system. The best part that I’ve already noted is how much UnEpic feels like you’re living a comedic RPG web comic.Read More

Starbound Beta Available Tomorrow

Posted on December 3, 2013 by Les Major

What is Starbound? Imagine having randomly created worlds to explore that you can visit in your space ship in a Terraria like fashion of gameplay. Creatures and weapons are even procedurally generated to give the alien worlds a truly unexpected and explorable feeling. On top of that, of course you can build your own structures like in Terraria and Minecraft. Sound fantastic? We certainly think it sounds like it! There’s even quests to complete to keep you busy.

Currently Starbound is available to pre-order on both the main Starbound website and on the newly created Humble Store (by the creators of Humble Bundle). Each store offers a $15 version, but the official site also has additional tiers you can buy into as well!

Tomorrow, Starbound will be coming to Steam’s early access program. Of course as with any beta game, go easy on it since it is still in production. However from the recent article on Starbound’s website, the beta version looks quite functional.

We’ve kept an eye on this title for a long time and we’re definitely looking forward to it’s release!

The 2013 Steam Summer Sale Has Begun!

Posted on July 11, 2013 by Les Major

It’s official! After a heavy load of visitors brought the store to a halt, it’s now somewhat working with occasional heavy load messages. Today’s big sale? Bioshock Infinite at 50% off! Scribblenauts Unlimited, which we’ve reviewed and we’re very much fans of is on for a meer $4.99! Current flash sales include Counter Strike: Global Offense for just over $5, Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition for $8.99 (A fantastic game if you haven’t already gotten into it), GRID 2 and Skyrim: Legendary Edition top out the current sales featured every eight hours.

Things do seem a bit rough, even for the wishlist page, so at current time you may want to specifically go to the Steam page of games you’re curious about to confirm if they’re on sale or not. I know I’m eagerly checking my list.

Steam has also introduced a large focus on the recent addition of trading cards to the site. They’re virtual cards that apparently can be crafted into Steam badges. These in turn give you marketable items such as emoticons, profile backgrounds, and coupons. Cards can even be dropped in games such as Borderlands 2 it seems.

Evoland | Review

Posted on April 7, 2013 by Jason Nason

Evoland is the culmination of a labour of love, and is a combined turn-based/action RPG which spans the gaming generations from the 8-bit (NES) to the 64 bit (N64). Not only does the game evolve from the classic look of games to that of modern day games, but it does so in a clever way, which makes Evoland more than just a gimmick. Read More
