Persona 4: Arena Character Bio – Yukiko Amagi

Posted on July 2, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

We’re back from a lull during Canada Day to bring you a brand-new character bio for Persona 4: Arena. Just like our last bios we’ve got screenshots and a official bio from Atlus USA. Hopefully this won’t be the last biography that Atlus releases before Persona 4: Arena’s August release.

Yukiko Amagi has appeared in both Persona 3 and Persona 4. First as a non-playable character and finally joining the player’s party in the fourth installment. Her stylish red blouse, black tights and black skirt aren’t the only thing going for Yukiko, she also has some of the best grades in the class. Well she’s rich and popular with almost everyone she doesn’t let it get to her head, although she does have a tendency to be interested.Read More

Persona 4 Arena Bio: Chie Satonaka

Posted on June 27, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Today’s Persona 4: Arena character profile, courtesy of Atlus, focuses on the familiar face that you’ve probably seen in the games artwork and on the various news stories we posted about Persona 4: Arena and Persona 4: Golden in the past few weeks.

Chie Satonaka’s green athletic jacket and skirt combination is certainly memorable, as with many of the Persona characters she has a very distinct style. Being a tomboy she’s not afraid to get involved in some rough and tumble behavior, and her signature temper sure doesn’t help that.Read More

Wayfarer of Time Features Beautiful Catgirls

Posted on June 21, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Anime girls with giant boobs, they are a dime a dozen right? Well they usually aren’t this detailed, that is for sure. Atlus’ next strategy RPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time for the PSP brings some very detailed and colorful traditional 2D artwork.

Now only do the newly released screenshots showcase anime cat girls in maid uniforms but also several different characters in revealing outfits of all kind. It’s not to say that Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time appeals only to the male audience, the male characters are also very pretty, in a Bishonen kind of way.Read More

Persona 4 Arena Dated For August 7, Includes 2 Language Tracks

Posted on June 5, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Atlus has finally revealed the North American release date for Persona 4: Arena, the 360/PS3 fighting game featuring characters from the Persona universe. the game will be available on August 7, 2012, making it an excellent treat for the end of the summer.

As an added bonus the game will include both the original Japanese and English language tracks.

The game was developed by long time fighting game developer Arc System Works whose previous works include the Guity Gear and BlazBlue Series.  I know a number of people on staff here broken joysticks are excited to play Persona 4 Arena. I’m pretty new the Persona universe, but if Guilty Gear and BlazBlueI are any indication I’m sure all of this game as well.

Check out the games E3 trailer after the jump.

Action role-playing game Code of Princess will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in North America this fall, publisher Atlus confirmed this morning via press release.  The game offers a unique blend of 2-D side scrolling beat ’em up gameplay combined with traditional RPG stat building, all the while maintaining the brutal difficulty level that most Atlus games are known for. Code Princess will also support up to four players playing locally via Wi-Fi or online using the Nintendo Network.

Atlus Releases New Gungnir Screenshots

Posted on May 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Atlus has released a whole series of screenshots from the North American version of their upcoming strategy RPG game Gungnir.

Gameplay is divided between two different phases, event scenes and strategy battles using the traditional Strat-RPG formula similar to other titles in the genres. In between these two phases players have the ability to buy new weapons and armor to upgrade their party. Interestingly the game also includes a special “easy mode” for new players to the genre. It is nice to see Atlus include mechanics for players who might pick up Gungnir without being entirely in the know.

Check out a gallery of screenshots after the jump. Gungnir will be released on June 12th at both brick and mortar stores as well as the PlayStation Network.Read More

Demon Souls Online Support Extended Amidst Popularity

Posted on May 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Are you still enjoying being slain by impossibly tough creatures in Demon’s Souls? Enough people are obviously still playing the game as Atlus announced that they will be extended server support for the foreseeable future in North America. The servers were originally scheduled to go offline on May 31st 2012, just seven short days from now.

The game’s spiritual successor Dark Souls is still quite popular on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Although Dark Soul does not appear on the Top 20 list of most active Xbox games there are people on my friends list playing it to this day.

Demon’s Souls was originally launched in the fall of 2009 and is now part of Sony’s Greatest Hits line up for PlayStation 3. I’m pretty sure you can find it for less than $20!

Atlus’ Persona 4 Arena Confirmed For Europe

Posted on May 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Atlus Games and Zen United announced today they will be bringing Personal 4 Arena to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360 later this year.

Persona 4 Arena is a fighting game featuring characters from both Atlus’ Persona 4 and its predecessor Persona 3 FES. In addition to the standard fighting game fare – multiple special moves and using gaurds/defensive techniques strategically Arena features a special type of attack using a Burst Gauge system.

Arena marks a bit of a departure for the Persona series whose more modern entries are traditionally an action RPG combined with a relationship simulator. Atlus USA will be publishing Arena on all three consoles later this summer.

Check out several screenshots of the game from the PS3 version after the jump.Read More

Winter is Coming-The Game of Thrones RPG

Posted on May 11, 2012 by Eric Bastelak

So I’ve been a fan of Song of Ice and Fire for a long time. I completed the first book because someone wanted me to be in their pen and paper role playing game. Oh man did I fall in love with the universe, unfortunately the game fell through and I’ve had a hard time tracking down copies of the remaining books. Then HBO happened,Read More
