Xbox One’s Forza 6 Gets Custom Concept Controller

Posted on November 1, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

It would seem that after a long drought console gamers will again be able to get custom licensed first party peripherals on the Xbox One. First we saw the two Halo controllers and then the Fall Out 4 edition, and now  a Forza theme modeled after the colors and pedals of the Ford GT.  The elite controller is only a few weeks old, but already we are getting a concept for a nice licensed first party themed edition. The custom controller is blue and black, and has features that evoke Fords new 2016 GT, one of Forza’s signature cars. The controller

Just What The Hell Are They Yelling About: An Introduction to Hearthstone

Posted on October 31, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Earlier this week the Hearthstone World Championship officially started. Even though it was only the round of 16, viewer count peaked at over 100K, briefly becoming the most viewed game on Twitch. The Hearthstone competitive scene is big, and it’s a pretty cool place. I’ve enjoyed following competitive Hearthstone ever since its beta, and I have managed to put in three top 500 on the European ladder over the last year. By this point the Hearthstone scene has been clearly established, and it can be intimidating for a newcomer to figure out just what the hell is going on. This

The Problem with Life Is Strange’s Ending

Posted on October 24, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

*Sighs deeply* You know, this wasn’t the article I wanted to write. It really wasn’t. Let me get this out of the way: I love Life Is Strange. I love the empathy it shows in giving even most of its villains depth and meaning. I love how most of the time it manages to tap into that inexperience, that imperfection, that unbridled optimism that makes the best kind of teen fiction. I love Max and Chloe’s tender, confused, multi-faceted relationship with each other; and all those things that I love are in here. In fact, some of the best moments

Rovio The Studio Behind Angry Birds is Cutting Over 200 Jobs

Posted on October 21, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

The boom bust cycle of game development is something that anyone who works in the industry can tell you horror stories about, large layoffs are often commonplace after development sprints and often studio sizes swell, and shrink by the hundreds prior too and after a games release. It is however surprising that after over half a decade of dominance the studio behind the Angry Birds is starting to show signs of flagging. The first blow came when in August of this year it was reported that the studio (based in France) was in a nasty fight with its employees over staff redundancy.

PS4 To Recieve price Cut In Europe

Posted on October 21, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Such is the case again with the PS4, the MSRP will not be €349.99/£299.99.  A spokesperson for Sony said “Since the launch of PS4 our aim has always been to provide players with the best gaming experiences at the best value, and we’ve been thrilled with the amount of players who have joined our world,” Most of those players joined at a price point close to double
