Sony Thinks It Is Too Early To Cut Vita’s Price

Posted on August 16, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The PlayStation Vita is certainly struggling in Japan with prospects being a little better here in North America. Many potential vita owners have been waiting for a price drop before snapping up Sony’s latest handheld and unfortunately it could be 2013 at the earliest before Sony relents on it’s $249.99 price point.

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida said to EuroGamer, in an interview with GamesCom “At a certain point in the future we would like to address the pricing issue for some of the people who are waiting,”.

The hardware maker reported that it had sold 1.8 million PS Vita and PSP handhelds last quater, but refused to say how many of each system it had sold. In Japan the Vita has seen a 150% jump recently due to the release of Persona 4: Golden but the hardware isn’t exactly flying off the shelves, selling 13,000 units per week at last count.

For those in the mood for a deal on the handheld, you won’t be getting one officially, but several Canadian outlets have offered PS Vitas at regular price with a 4GB memory card, a copy of Gravity Rush and a carrying case.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 is getting a PC release to coincide with it’s console brethren in 2013, according to a recent press release first spotted by German games site JPGames.

The port is being done in house at developers MercurySteam, and dark lords willing, could go a long way in fixing the technical issues and slowdown present in the first Lords of Shadows. MercurySteam states that this will be the last Castlevania game that they work on, creating a trilogy along with the recently delayed 3DS title Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate.

Mann VS Machine Update Launches On TF2

Posted on August 16, 2012 by Les Major

Released on August 15th, Team Fortress 2 now has a co-op mode allowing players to take on waves of robots! With at least one new map and new achievements, the added mode features robots based on the games classes. At the end of each wave you’ll be able to upgrade your character’s abilities and weapons.

Team Fortress 2 is Valves hit classic that is now even free to play on Steam! Released in 2007 it still holds true to being a fan favourite. I’ve seen lots of cosplayers giving the different classes a go, lets see how many of the robotic versions make the convention scene now!
