New Alternate Costumes Announced For SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy

Posted on February 9, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Nippon Ichi Software USA announced today that each of the playable characters in their upcoming fighting title SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy will have three alternate costumes that players will be able to unlock. By using an in-game only currency players will be able to unlock either the Heroines Costume, the Classic Costume or the Alternate costume for their favorite fighter. A range of additional accessories and customization options can also be unlocked to further personalize the in-game characters.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy is a 2 vs 2 fighting game with a roster of female characters from SNK’s various fighting franchises. Matches don’t end once your opponent’s health reaches zero, instead a winning point must be sealed by performing a special Dream Finish attack.

You’ll be able to get your hands on SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 sometime this summer. It will be available physically in both standard and limited editions, with the standard edition being available on your console’s respective digital store front. SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy will offer Japanese audio only with text options in English, Japanese, Mexican Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Below are 10 brand new screenshots from NIS America and a new trailer.

Prepare to fight with SNK HEROINES this Summer on Switch

Posted on January 12, 2018 by Jason Nason

Play as iconic heroines from SNK’s history in a new, two-on-two tag-team fighting game. The new game, SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~, was introduced during the Nintendo Direct mini.

In the game players can activate a variety of Special Moves with the press of a button, and make use of special items to turn the tide of battle. One of the competitors will be Yuri Sakazaki from ACA NEOGEO Art of Fighting 2, which launches today in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch. SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~ launches on Nintendo Switch this summer.

In SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~ you can activate Special Moves with a single button, and make use of special items to change the tide of battle! However, the fight isn’t over the moment you’ve chipped enough health away. Once your opponent is on the ropes, utilize your Dream Finish technique to win the match!

Spectate on other battles online, and wage on who you think will win using in-game points. Use your winnings to buy voice clips and accessories in an all-new costume system, and customize your favorite heroine to your heart’s content!

The game features an iconic cast of SNK’s Female Characters. Choose from a generous roster of female heroines from the SNK universe. You can also dress up your fighters in many different styles. Accessories including cat ears, glasses, face paint, and new sound effects.

SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~ is being developed by SNK Corporation and will be released by NIS America in Summer 2018.

The NEO GEO X Is No More

Posted on October 5, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Did you purchase the NEO GEO X when it became available this past January? Well if you didn’t and you are interested in it your time is running out on grabbing a brand new unit at it’s regular price. SNK, owners of the NEO GEO brand among other gaming staples, have terminated their agreement with the devices manufacturer Tommo Inc.

NEO GEO X is a handheld console designed to emulate games for SNK’s original home console. The limited edition bundle, which is still available on various retailers including Amazon as of the writing of this article, included a widescreen portable gaming console, a wireless joystick and home docking system molded in the shape of the original Neo Geo console. Twenty different games preloaded with the console and more could be added via SD card.

SNK has asked Tommo to immediately stop manufacturing and promoting the handheld. It could be some time but eventually I’m sure the Neo Geo X will command a higher price as retailers stop stocking it.

Two Older SNK Games Released As PlayStation Minis

Posted on July 24, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Through the magic of emulation SNK Playmore have brought back a few of their older titles for the modern generation to experience. When we say older, I mean just about as old as our staff members. If you’re reading this and can remember  Time Soldiers on the SNK Alpha from 1987, well then you are a much more hardcore gamer than I can ever hope to be.

Joining Time Soldiers is Gang Wars, ports of games from the 1980s that ran on pre-NEO GEO hardware. Each game is available for $2.99 through the PlayStation Store and will run on either PS3 or PSP using the Minis option on your system’s dashboard. Unfortunately there was no mention of PS Vita compatibility at the time of writing.
