Posted on March 7, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO/third person shooter, Tom Clancy’s The Division doesn’t even go live on consoles or PC for another 17 hours but the development team has already detailed the game’s day one patch. No file size for the mandatory patch has been given but we do have a complete list of all the changes and upgrades it brings. After the patch has been applied agents will be able to set custom “outfits” – allowing them the swap between pre-defined sets of equipment. A new help system allows players to see which interactive tooltips they’ve viewed and also allows them to

Super Galaxy Squadron EX | Review

Posted on February 26, 2016 by Erika

A shmup can be categorized as a “you vs the world” shoot-em up that’s hard as hell and can often be rage inducing. Super Galaxy Squadron EX really isn’t  that rage inducing but its still a shump.  Super Galaxy Squadron EX, following along with it’s original counterpart, is a much more forgiving vertical shump, when compared to say, the infamous Touhou series by ZUN. Before I get into how easily someone can get into the game, here’s a little bit on the game- Super Galaxy Squadron EX is a remastering and rebuild of Super Galaxy Squadron. In both games, a truce

Doom’s Single-Player Campaign Is 13 Hours Long

Posted on February 14, 2016 by Broken Joysticks

Doom
The developers of the Doom reboot have confirmed on twitter the campaign will be a hefty thirteen hours long. If you were worried about the game being a five hour romp largely focused on the multiplayer, as many shooters are these days, you can rest easy. Personally, I much prefer quality to quantity. I don’t really think it’s much of a positive if a game is thirteen hours long if I’m gonna be bored while playing it. Having said that, I expect that playtime is an important way to measure value for a lot of people, and having a long

Fallout 4 DLC Confirmed For Near Future

Posted on February 11, 2016 by Broken Joysticks

Fallout 4 DLC
Today Bethesda took to twitter to let us know Fallout 4 DLC is in the pipelines. While this is not a major surprise to anyone, it is still interesting to hear about it now after a relatively long period of time since release. Fallout 4 has been out for three months now and is still waiting for it’s first major piece of DLC to be officially announced. By comparison, Fallout 3’s Operation Anchorage was released only about two months after the game’s release. It is unknown whether the longer wait this time around has to do with more ambitious plans

Darkest Dungeon: “There Can Be No Bravery Without Madness!”

Posted on February 5, 2016 by Kyle Scarboro

Darkest Dungeon is the birth child of indie game developers Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman with the help of their studio, Red Hook Studios. This is their first game and they are coming out of the gate strong! Darkest Dungeon is a Kickstarter funded, Roguelike Gothic RPG, and was successfully funded back in February 2014 and earned over $300,000 when only asked for $75,000. It is quite impressive to see what a group can come up with when they do not have large pockets to work with. A year later on February 3rd, 2015, Darkest Dungeon Early Access was launched on

Stardock‘s ambitious real time strategy title, Ashes of the Singularity, is now available for purchase via Steam Early Access. Ashes gained a lot of notoriety last year for being the first commercially available game with native support for Microsoft’s upcoming Direct X 12. Ashes’ plot transports players to the 23rd century where they will command armies, collect metals & radioactive materials to help fuel their economy and once they’ve raised enough funds unleash massive armies that can easily dwarf the unit counts found in other RTS titles. There are two playable factions in Ashes of the Singularity – Humanity of

Ubisoft Takes Us Through Basic Training For The Division

Posted on January 28, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Division
Ubisoft takes us through a very brief tour of some of the basics that you’ll need to survive the infected streets of Manhatten in The Division’s beta. This narrated trailer covers how to create your agent, what the various functions available to you in your base of operations, how to sell loot to venders and, of course, how to group up with other agents in the field. The Division feels very much like an MMORPG but designed on a smaller scale. By grounding the game in a real world location Ubisoft have provided potential agents with a setting that feels

The weekend is finally here – a time for most of us to kick back, relax and possibly catch up on our massive backlog of games. Except with the awesome deals that both Steam and a surprise Sony Flash Sale are offering it is more probably than not that more games will end up in your backlog rather than being completed. Some of the highlights include: 30 Days of game time with the fantastic FFXIV for $10.99 CDN, Sonic Generations for less than $10 CDN – which is a steal by the way every Sonic fan should play this game,
