Bungie Set To Reveal Project Destiny At GDC?

Posted on January 16, 2013 by Joshua Rust

With the 2013 Game Developers Conference (GDC) right around the corner, it seems that Bungie may finally be ready to reveal project “Destiny” to some capacity. Hosting their own presentation dubbed “Brave New World”, Bungie writer/design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett will finally offer “a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built”.

While some concept art was leaked a while back, not much is known about Destiny. We all have been eager to see what Bungie has been up to since wrapping up with the Halo franchise. Well, we are just a few months away to see what Bungie has been up to.

The GDC schedule details an overview of what the Brave New World presentation will contain:

“Two decades of success in the gaming industry is no small feat, but after ten years of Halo, Bungie found themselves faced with a tremendous challenge: to build a whole new world, filled with even more amazing mysteries, places, creatures, and opportunities for player investment.”

“For the first time ever, Bungie creative directors will discuss their world building techniques, from concept to production. Attendees will walk away with key insights into Bungie’s battle-tested design process. They’ll get a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built, a place where the next ten years of great Bungie adventures will unfold.”

So  yeah, it’s an understatement when I say that we are excited to see what Bungie has been up to. There’s no doubt that Destiny has the potential to be the next Halo franchise. Question is, is Destiny multiplatform, Microsoft exclusive, or a disappointing announcement of a browser based game….

Well, for their sake it better not be the latter…

Pandora’s Tower Confirmed For North American Release

Posted on January 16, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Remember Operation Rainfall? Well they’ve finally got their wish; Pandora’s Tower has been confirmed for a North American release thanks to the folks at XSeed. No solid release date on the game just yet but aside from confirmation Xseed did provide Kotaku with an excerpt describing the game, which I’ve included below.

Operation Rainfall was a fan run campaign to bring three Japanese RPGs for the Nintendo Wii to North America. Well, the years of waiting have paid off, because since their kick off a few years ago we’ve seen the release of The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles. In fact, sine the completion of their endeavor the crew at OR have turned their momentum into an entire gaming site, Great job guys!

More after the jump.Read More

Army Of Two: Devil’s Cartel Trailer

Posted on January 16, 2013 by Broken Joysticks

When the first game came out, I was really impressed with what EA Montreal did with the series. Their second entry added a morality feature which made you wonder how good or evil your thoughts were playing with Salem and Rios. Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel however is being co-developed by EA Montreal and Visceral Games of Dead Space fame. EA released today a new trailer for the game, as we had no updates on the game in a while. Read More

Kalypso Media’s latest PC title Omerta – City of Gangsters has gone gold for both the Xbox 360 and Windows PC.  It will be available at retail on February 12th 2013.

Omerta transports players back to a 1920s version of Atlantic city where they are tasked with building a criminal empire that will fill other gangsters with fear while benefiting those who are close to them. On the gameplay front Omerta is a mixture of turn based combat and strategic city domination. In order to conquer all of Atlantic City you’ll have to send out mobsters on hit contracts, raid rival hideouts and more.
