Posted on October 16, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Clickteam USA is sponsoring their second annual Weirder Stuff game jam over on Itch.io this weekend. This three-day event is open to all regardless of development experience or overall talent and will center around a theme to be disclosed when the Game Jam begins on Friday, October 20th.  If you’re unfamiliar with what a game jam is – it is where developers of all skill levels are invited to create an original game within a specific theme, possibly using a specific engine or other requirements within a short time limit. Game Jam games are often broken, missing features, minimalist and downright weird.  There’s a certain beauty to interactive work created out of passion but within the constraints

Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefront II Trial & Need For Speed Trial Coming To EA Access

Posted on October 11, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electronic Arts are set to expand the line-up of free games on both Origin Access (PC) and EA Access (Xbox One) according to official-looking descriptions posted by industry insider Wario64 on Twitter. These reports were seemingly confirmed by other outlets including GameSpot later on in the day.  The full version of Bioware Montreal’s freshman effort Mass Effect: Andromeda will be joining the vault on PC. Issues regarding the game’s facial animations and overall performance made for quite a lot of meme-worthy content when the game was first released earlier this year. After several patches, Andromeda is a better state now but this hasn’t stopped EA from putting the breaks on

Posted on September 29, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Nexon has announced that it will be shutter (“sunsetting”) the F2P first-person shooter Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex First Assault in four regions in early December. Players who purchased in-game currency will receive a refund of 100% if it was purchased before Feb of 2017, all other in-game purchases will be refunded at a rate of 50% but this does not apply to the initial purchase of the game client if bought through one of the several Early Access bundles sold before the F2p launch.  I enjoyed the 4 or so hours I spent with the early access version of Ghost In The Shell back in 2015.

Mecha Action Title Project Nimbus Coming To PlayStation 4 In 2018

Posted on September 20, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

If you like high octane mecha action games staring anime teenagers then Project Nimbus is one title to keep an eye on. Developed by GameCrafterTeam and published by Kiss LTD it is hard not to watch footage of Project Nimbus and be instantly reminded of a brighter, more bubblegum Armored Core title. We may not have got a true Armored Core 6 from Namco and sure Project Nimbus lacks detailed customization in its current Early Access state but it seems to scratch at the same itch.  Project Nimbus will be flying the deadly skies on PlayStation 4 in Japan later this Autumn with a worldwide release scheduled for sometime in Q1 2018.  PC players

Posted on September 19, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

A world of interlocking gears, steam power, golden metal, and robots might sound like a steampunk paradise envisioned by the wildest visionaries of the Victorian age of sci-fi but I’m actually describing the broad aesthetics of The Elder Scrolls Online‘s next major expansion known as The Clockwork City.
