Techland announced a little over a month ago a new IP called Hellraid. It’s basically Dead Island meets a dark fantasy setting. Hellraid is a first person hack-n-slash game that can be played cooperatively with up to three different friends. You can play as four different classes including a Warrior, Mage, Paladin, & a Rogue – so there are plenty of characters for all different play styles.

If you happened to miss the first gameplay trailer of Hellraid, be sure to check here. Otherwise, continue reading after the jump for some gory new screenshots! (more…)

Naughty Dog’s next big Sony exclusive action game, The Last of US, will be released in just a few short weeks and we are now getting our first look at post-release downloadable content. If you want to experience the full singe player experience featuring Joel & Ellie be ready to pony up a little bit of cash.

DLC will come in the form of 3 separate packs, the first of which will add new single player content, a first for a Naughty Dog title. The other two add fresh maps and weapons into the game’s yet to be revealed Multiplayer mode. All 3 pieces of downloadable content are available in a $19.99 season pass, available through the PlayStation store. It is not yet known if The Last of US‘s singe player DLC will continue the game’s main story, or will feature some sort of side-story.

You’ll be able to enter the post apocalyptic world of The Last of Us on June XX exclusively on PlayStation 3.

The fighting game community (FGC) has grown from holding local events to smaller venues to occupying ballrooms at four-star establishments with talent from all across the globe attending. Major sponsors such as Capcom, Namco Bandai, and others are responsible for the development of some of the world’s most famous franchises in gaming, and are showcased at a central tournament featuring the top fighting talent from across the world. With major prize pools, fighting games are now reaching a platform that can be compared to traditional eSports.

Each week, I’ll be posting interviews I’ve had the pleasure of conducting with members of the fighting game community. The interviews will touch upon their history in the FGC, where they got their start, and what they’d like to see from video games in general.

This weeks guest is a man who competed this past weekend immediately upon graduating and also one of the top Guy players in the United States, Shannon White a.k.a PxG | iRedman. (more…)

Thanks to a teaser released this week I was made aware of the coming web series that ties into Payday 2. Now Payday 2 is the sequel to Payday: The Heist a game that I personally loved. So seeing a sequel was cool enough but honestly I’m kind of excited for the web series. Payday 2 is on a couple months away with the release date currently set as August 2013. The web series will be coming in the next couple of weeks. I look forward to watching and eventually playing. Time to let your inner bad boy out. You can check out the teaser below.

Hot off the heels of the Xbox One announcement, Electronic Arts has revealed the latest entry in their long running racing franchise, Need For Speed: Rivals. The game is destined for next generation platforms, like the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as current gen machines.  Developed by Critereon Games (of 2010 Need For Speed and the Burnout Franchise) will be handling development duties targeting a November 19th release for the current generation consoles and “later this year” for next-gen.

Need For Speed: Rivals is powered by D.I.C.E’s impressive Frostbite 3.0 engine, which has allowed Critereon to craft a visually impressive game, complete with roadworthy physics. New to the series is a feature known as “alldrive”, which allows users to join and drop from friend’s game worlds instantly. The developers have already stated there will be differences between the current generation and next-gen versions in terms of alldrive, including the number of simotanous players, with more details expected to be released at E3.

We’ve got a small gallery of screenshots featuring several famous automobiles like Ferrari, Austin Martin and Porsh, as well as a trailer, after the jump. (more…)
