Techland Announces ‘Dying Light’

Posted on May 23, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Techland has their hands occupied it seems. With this weeks release of Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger on XBLA, PSN, & PC and the newly announced Hellraid, who would’ve thought that they had another game in the works?

Today Techland, developer of the amazing Dead Island franchise, has announced yet another game: Dying Light. Techland has teamed up with Warner Bros. (who is apparently publishing the game) to bring this new IP to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014. So what is this new IP, Dying Light, all about?

Well, it’s a first person action survival horror game. That about sums it up, right? In Dying Light, players find themselves in an infected open world where every day is about survival. Boasting a unique day/night cycle that the world has never seen in a game, players will have to scavenge for supplies and craft weapons if they hope to make it through the night….

Which seems to be the main focus on in this game. At night, the infected become more aggressive, dangerous, and just down right nasty. They will do anything to make sure that you don’t make it the next mornings sunrise. There are even some predators that don’t show up until after sundown.

So, to me it sounds like the took Dead Island and actually put the survival aspect into it. Which really is fine with me. There hasn’t been much more revealed about it, but stay tuned here for more information as it becomes available.

In the meantime, check out some of the screenshots!
