First Five Minutes Of Bioshock: Infinite

Posted on December 19, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Irrational Games has released the first five minutes of their upcoming Bioshock: Infinite game. So before you scroll down to watch it, you have been warned that this will (obviously) spoil the first part of the game. I, personally, love the Bioshock franchise and I can’t wait to get my hands on this game! This one looks so much better than Bioshock 2. If only Irrational Games can craft the type of storyline that the first game had…then this will be a masterpiece!

[youtube id=”60zmVrtIBzw” width=”600″ height=”350″]

For those of you unaware, this game was pushed back by a month to March 26th in order to polish the game up to make sure it’s top notch when it hits retails stores. This is a great move by Irrational Games to make sure the game is the best it can be when it ships. So props to them even if we have to suffer for one more month!

New Fuse Trailer Goes Into Story Mode

Posted on December 19, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Fuse, which was previously called Overstrike, is Insomniac Games first stab at bringing a game to the Xbox 360 console. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, well it should – they are responsible for the ever popular Resistance series on the Playstation 3. I’m excited to see Insomniac go multiplatform and bring their talent to everyone on all different gaming systems.

So, Fuse was announced back in June 2011 and there really hasn’t been a lot of details beside the information on the characters and the official trailer. So today Insomniac Games has released a story trailer to give a bit of information on what the storyline will be based around. Enjoy!

Fuse currently doesn’t have an exact release date, but it is expected to release Spring 2013.

League of Legends On Watch After Heroes of Newerth Hack

Posted on December 19, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans of the MOBA genre and the creators of their favorite games are on watch after Heroes of Newerth was hacked this afternoon. Originally appearing on Reddit, a user by the name of Ryan_HTP posted about the hack with a twitter link as supposed truth. Apparently he made off with the usernames and passwords for the games accounts.

According to Ryan he’s also planning to attack competing game, League of Legends, a later time just to enrage its fan base. Surely this will put Riot Games on watch for potential security breaches but can one person bring down an entire development studio? As Kotaku postulate’s a remote possibility.

As he wrote on Reddit:

“I hacked HoN because there’s nothing as hilarious as seeing a bunch of fanboys of a game get enraged over the fact that their favourite game has been hacked”

Do you enjoy the MOBA Genre? Will you be changing your passwords in light of these recent events?

Persona 4: Golden | Review

Posted on December 18, 2012 by Kirk Williford

Golden.

That’s perhaps the easiest and most accurate way to describe Atlus’ remake of one of the best RPGs on the PS2. Persona 4: Golden isn’t your average HD remake, though – not only does it have enough additional story-based content packed into it to make the game feel brand new, but updated visuals, new music, online connectivity and special features like the ability to watch recorded live concerts featuring in game music make this one of the best HD remakes on the market – and it’s only available on the Playstation Vita.Read More

Rise of The Hutt Cartel Expands The Old Republic

Posted on December 18, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Bioware and Electronic Arts have got a lot of press for the recently released free to play version of the Old Republic. Players in a galaxy far far away can expand their experience for a mere $20, or $10 if they’re a paying monthly subscriber. That doesn’t sound like such a bad deal, whether The Rise of the Hutt Cartel can bring the level of content players expect from a full expansion is unknown Bioware has revealed some details surrounding the add-on.

Rise of the Hutt Cartel brings high level players five new levels to experience with the new level 55 cap. On top of this is new story missions and a planet, Makeb, designed for the game’s most advanced characters. Aside from the new fully voiced story content Bioware haven’t revealed what new features this expansion will bring. Stay tuned for more!

– New York Underground, fixed a bug where the player would be teleported at the center of New York if he declined to enter the underground through the South Market entrance.

Square Enix Releases A “Guide To Survival” For Tomb Raider

Posted on December 17, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Today Square Enix has released part one of a new series that shows off some of the choices young Lara has to face throughout her journey in the upcoming Tomb Raider game.

Here is what Square Enix has to say about Lara:

“Though she doesn’t begin as a fully accomplished heroine she’s smart, resourceful and full of potential: you’ll see Lara using the Basecamp System to upgrade her skills and gear, see how she uses her Survival Instinct to explore on the island, and get an insight into her signature weapon, the bow.”

Tomb Raider will release on March 5th, 2013. If you haven’t seen the Collector’s Edition for North America, I’d suggest checking this out. Hurry and pre-order it while supplies last! I know I’ve got mine pre-ordered!

Metro: The Last Light Limited Edition Detailed

Posted on December 14, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Metro: The Last Light is poised for a March 2013 release and if you haven’t went to pre-order this game yet, you might be more entitled to do so now. As of today, THQ has announced that all pre-orders will automatically be upgraded to the Limited Edition of Metro: The Last Light.

What does this limited edition include you may ask? Well, it will include a harder difficulty mode known as “Ranger Mode”. For those familiar with the first game, Ranger Mode is insanely hard – one hit by a bullet will kill you. Not only that, you don’t have a HUD and pick-ups have less quantities of ammunition. But, players were also entitled to 3x damage with their own weapons. Sounds like fun huh?

As you can tell from the above picture, you also get Extra Military Grade Bullets which are essential for either trading or killing enemies quickly and effectively.  In addition, you also receive the Modified Russian Rifle which is ideal for “claustrophobic combat.” Oh yes!

So what are you waiting for? Really, what are you waiting for! Go pre-order Metro: The Last Light and get the FREE Limited Edition upgrade. I’m expecting this game to stand out a lot more that its predecessor (which was a really solid, under-the-radar hit). You definitely need to check this out! Here is a trailer if you need a little more persuasion.

RAGE DLC “The Scorchers” Arrives Next Week

Posted on December 14, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Rage released October 4th, 2011…and now, over a year later, id Software and Bethesda have announced that they will be releasing The Scorchers DLC next week for 400 MSP (or $5). The Scorchers was originally planned to be a part of the main game but was cut from the title before it released.

Here is the press release from Bethesda:

Return to the Wasteland in The Scorchers, an all-new RAGE add-on from id Software – arriving on 360, PC, and PS3 next week for $4.99 (or 400 Microsoft Points).

In this brand-new adventure spanning six all-new areas, you will fight alongside new allies to defend the Hager Settlment from a maniacal bandit clan known as The Scorchers. Along the way, you’ll participate in a new season of Mutant Bash TV, encounter new mini-games, and wield the overpowering and brutal Nailgun.<

In addition to the new content, this DLC includes ‘Ultra-Nightmare’, a new high difficulty mode, as well as an ‘Extended Play’ option that allows you to play past the original ending of the game – giving you the opportunity to finish collecting items and achievements.

So we get a new difficulty level, an extended play (which I need to wrap up some collectibles), and a whole new adventure. Heck yes! Next week is going to be awesome! Anyone still holding onto their Rage copy or will  you go pick it up again at the store?

Earth Defense Force 2025 Is Due Out Next Year

Posted on December 13, 2012 by Joshua Rust

A few months ago we brought you the trailer for Earth Defense Force 4. Since that time the title of the game has changed to Earth Defense Force 2025 and it will be released at an unspecified date next year.

4 player co-op will be implemented with this iteration of EDF, which is something I really wanted to see with Insect Armageddon. The developers, Sandlot, have also promised tons of new missions and the crazy over-the-top action you’ve come to know and love from this franchise.

Earth Defense Force 2025 will feature new giant insects, such as the Retiarius spider that is so big its webs cover entire buildings. There will also be a new Air Raider unit – which can launch a health beacon for squadmates to recover health – as well as being able to summon tanks.

Here are some new screenshots to go with the announcement of the official game title:

Any fans of the EDF series out there? What do you think should be added to this franchise to make it even better?

“Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt” Is The Next Borderlands 2 DLC?

Posted on December 13, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Tech savy users (and Playstation 3 users) have uncovered what appears to be the next DLC for Borderlands 2 titled: Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt. Users over at the Gearbox Forums have spotted details that were released in today’s patch. Not to mention that the trophies have shown up as well on the Playstation 3 trophies.

The three achievements/trophies are: Completed the mission “The Fall of Nakayama”, Completed all Hammerlock’s Hunt side missions, & Discovered all named locations in Hammerlock’s Hunt.

So I think it’s safe to assume that there will be even more raid bosses as the first two DLC’s have had. I just want to know when we are going to see a level cap increase? How about you all?
