Arc System Works Announces New Crossover Fighting Game: Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

Posted on July 17, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

The developers responsible for the Guilty Gear and Blazblue series of fighting games has announced their latest project – a colorful crossover between Person 4 Ultimax, Blazblue, Under-Night: In-Birth….. and RWBY! So this tag-team fighting title is not only a “best of” when it comes to characters from some of the more recent non-Capcom Japanese fighters out there, but characters from Rooster Teeth’s popular web series will also jump into the fray as well.

A list of confirmed character so far is scant at best – Hyde Kido from Under-Night (which was developed by Melty Blood devs Ecole Software), Yu Naraukami from SEGA / Atlus’ Person 4, Ragna the Bloodedge from Blazblue and of course Ruby Rose from RWBY.

No word on if the game will be a simultaneous international release or if it will hit Japanese arcades first followed by home consoles later. Arc has been silent on any sort of date or even confirming platforms for their latest brawler.

PS4 Controller Prototype Images Emerge

Posted on February 15, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

We’ve done a lot of reporting on the PlayStation 4 these past few weeks and now it looks like images from the unannounced system’s development kit are starting to pop up all around the web. From destructoid to gametrailers, anonymous sources have given the world its first look at two different prototypes for the PS4’s controller.

The controllers design pays homage to the Dualshock design of the past and, as rumored, adds a touch sensitive pad, similar to the one on the back of the PlayStation Vita, to the face of the controller. The grips on the controller, as well as the overall casing, look a little more ergonomic and rounded. Commentators have also pointed out that the sticks also feature indented thumb-sticks, but this could be a result of Sony using cheaper parts to prototype their controller. Both controllers plugged in via USB but they were both said to be early prototypes, one featuring the distinct glow featured on the PlayStation Move.

Sony is expected to unveil the PS4 at their “See The Future” event in New York city on Feb 20th. Check out a picture of the prototype controller after the jump.Read More

Next Xbox Runs Multiple Games At Once, Requires Kinect

Posted on February 12, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

The race towards the next-generation is heating up, and whether or not Sony or Microsoft will acknowledge it, gamers will get their first tastes of their next home consoles in just a few short weeks with Sony’s “see the future” press event in New York City. Out of Kotaku comes a huge expose exploring some of the options developers are playing with in regards to the Xbox 720/ Xbox Durango (henceforth referred to as simply ‘Durango’).

We already knew a ton about the innards of the machine, powered by a custom AMD APU, but we didn’t really know about mandatory game installations, forced Kinect connectivity, a tweaked controller and the ability to run multiple games at once. If even 50% of these new ‘facts’ are true things are going to be mighty interesting come this fall.Read More

Battlefield 4 Confirmed In New MOH: Warfighter Trailer

Posted on July 17, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Battlefield 4 is indeed a real game, as the end of the most recent Medal of Honor: Warfighter trailer confirms speculation from this weekend The trailer is a developer diary covering all of the basics including the multiplayer, weapons and more straight from the guys behind the game.

At the end of the trailer is the above image stating “Pre-order Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition for Access To The Battlefield 4 Beta”

Presumably Battlefield 4 would be slotted for a 2014 release. Considering the inclusion of the Beta in the MOH: Warfighter Limited Edition we can infer that some version of BF 4 will be coming to current consoles, although such a game would certainly shine on next-gen hardware.
