Search For The Infinity Stones In The Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite Story Demo

Posted on June 14, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fighting fans can go hands-on with Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite a full three months before its’ official release this September thanks to the surprise release of the Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite Story Demo exclusively on PlayStation 4.  The universes of Marvel and Capcom once again collide due to the use of two of the Infinity Stones by “Ultron SIgma” – a fusion of the Marvel villain Ultron and Mega Man antagonist Sigma.  Heroes and villains from both universes will have to band together in-order to stop this ultimate fusion from destroying reality itself.

Team battles return from previous entries in the Marvel Vs Capcom series, however with the release of infinite Capcom is going back to the series roots by paring teams back to 2 Vs 2 rather than the 3 Vs 3 team compositions that made their debut in Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Rather than using predetermined partner assist attacks that are dependent on a player’s chosen characters – instead Infinite allows a player to call in their back-up at any time, even during long animations. In theory this means that chaining together combos between characters should be easier.  Hyper combos are also no longer activated by inputting a specific set of commands, but simply by pressing two of the face buttons on the Dualshock controller. It is clear that MVC: Infinite shakes up the established formula by changing the amount of total characters, drastic changes to controls + inputs and the removal of pre-canned assist abilities.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite‘s Story Demo is now available on the PlayStation Store. The full version will be released on September 15th for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. As of the writing of this article there have been 24 confirmed characters on both sides combined with more expected to be revealed soon.

A Pair of Marvel Vs Capcom Games Coming To PlayStation 4

Posted on December 3, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Capcom announced at the PlayStation Experience today that a pair of Marvel Vs Capcom titles will be making their way to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. First up is Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite, a new title slated for release in 2017. Capcom’s classic Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will be getting a PS4 upgrade / re-release digitally on the PlayStation Store, available today.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite appears to take hints from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – featuring Avengers characters proximately in the brief 1:30 teaser trailer that Capcom unveiled during the Sony keynote.  The first new character that we get a look at in the footage is Captain Marvel, who is slated to get her own MCU film due out in 2019 staring Brie Larson.  Representing the Capcom side in this debut trailer are both Megaman and Ryu, from the Street Fighter series.

On the gameplay side of things Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite will feature 2 Vs 2 battles, as opposed to the traditional 3 on brawls that the series has been known for. Infinity Stones are in-game items that grant a player a temporary boost in a number of different areas – power, space, time, reality, soul and mind – allowing them to hopefully turn the tide of battle. It was also promised that MVC: Infinite would feature “accessible single-player content” including a full cinematic story mode, training, arcade and mission modes.

If you’re looking for a current-gen MVC fix and can’t wait for 2017, Capcom and Marvel have also teamed up to re-release the now half-decade old Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 on PS4. It will be available sometime later today when the store is updated, as of press time no official price or listing is available.

As Polygon originally reported, the YouTube trailer for the UMVC3 re-release confirms that Windows PC and Xbox One versions of the game will be made available in 2017 as well.

““Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is being re-released for current generation systems; with the PlayStation 4 digital download version available today and the Xbox One and Windows PC versions coming in March 2017!”]”

Ultimate Marvel Vs Cpacom 3 was originally released in 2011 for PS3, PS Vita and Xbox 360 and features 36 different characters from both company’s stable of heroes.

More information about Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite is available on the official PlayStation Blog.

Marvel to Celebrating Leading Ladies by adding them to their games

Posted on March 3, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Marvel has done a lot recently for its leading ladies. Now they will highlight them in a new event they are calling Women of Power.  Starting March 3, Marvel Games will release new characters and more content across it catalog of mobile, console, and PC titles such as Lego Marvel Avengers, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Avenger Academy. This should get rid of many of the compliants that folks had of characters like black widow not appearing in the Avengers game titles. There was a small uproar when marvel didnt include many of its female characters in its games, and toys after the movies had female protagonists. Hit the jump for the full list of whats coming to what games.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Shows Stark Tower

Posted on January 27, 2013 by Joshua Rust

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes was just announced a few weeks ago through the Game Informer. It was such a big announcement that it even got cover honors on the magazine. I can’t explain how truly excited I was when I heard that this game was official. I figured that since WB owned Traveller’s Tales (Warner Bros. owns DC – just in case you didn’t know) that we would never see the likes of a Marvel Comics LEGO game ever. But thankfully the stars aligned and it was a dream come true.

But enough of my rambling, on to the video documentary that is narrated by assistant director Steve Sharples. He takes you on a tour of the Stark Tower in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes that details  the tower’s design, creation and gameplay. It also goes into Iron Man’s different suits and how Hulk, Thor and Captain America will work together by combining their powers to solve puzzles.Read More

Rumor: Amazon Leaks WiiU Box Art

Posted on August 7, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

There are still a lot of things we don’t know about Nintendo’s upcoming WiiU including the device’s price, how much the games will cost and what their box art will look like. One of these deep burning might have been answered thanks to several Amazon listings.

If the box art listed on Amazon for Avengers Battle for Earth and Assassins Creed III are accurate than the WiiU Box art looks very similar to the GameCube’s box art, color scheme notwithstanding. The supposed WiiU box’s sport a baby blue header with white “Wii U” branding and a yellow border separating the box art image from the header.

If these are real, what are your thoughts, readers? Check out two of the images after the jump.Read More

Spider-Man’s creator Stan Lee has appeared in every movie produced by Marvel Studios thus far but he has only appeared as a voice-over in the virtual realm. All of this about to change with the inclusion of the sunglass wearing creative master of a playable in character in The Amazing Spider-Man.

if you’ve ever wanted to see Stan Lee lay the smackdown on enemies or hang by a thread you won’t want to miss this trailer.  While playing as Stan Lee you’ll look through his signature black shades when entering first person mode.

Avengers Battle For Earth Is a Who’s Who of Comic Book Legends

Posted on June 4, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Up until now little was known about Marvel’s Battle For Earth aside from the fact that the game would feature popular characters like Thor, Iron man and the Hulk. The game’s first debut trailer hit during Ubisoft’s press conference and it features none of those characters initially.

The game looks to be a who’s who when it comes to Marvel’s comic book properties. The trailer opens with Wolverine fighting Venom in the city streets of New York and before long they’re joined by Magneto ( who is seen hurling police cars) and Spider-man. As the camera pulls back an alien invasion similar to the one featured in the film is prominent in the background. Iron Man, Captain America and Thor stand tall on the roof of a skyscraper overlooking this destruction.

We know very little about the actual gameplay but it looks like Ubisoft is drawing from Marvel’s rich comic book history rather than the feature films. The advantage to this is that they can use characters like Spider-Man and Mangnetto, whose film right are owned by Sony and Fox respectively.

Check out several screen grabs after the jump.Read More

The Amazing Spider-Man Web Rush Trailer

Posted on May 22, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Beenox’s latest Spider-Man game, a film tie-in for Sony’s upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man, has a brand new trailer highlighting one of the new mechanics – the Web Rush. Web Rush allows you to slow down time and make split second decisions like dodging an oncoming enemy or using your webshooters to tie-up a foe. It can even be used to pull of aerobatic feats while web-slinging around the environments.

This mechanic really interests me, to my knowledge this is the first time a developer has tried to incorporate Spider-Man’s “Spidey Sense” into a game. For all of you non-nerds out there, Spidey Sense is essentially a form of pre-cognition that allows Spider-Man to avoid oncoming danger a fraction of a second before it occurs.

Slow motion certainly sounds like the right away to go about, when it comes to this particular super power. Decide for yourself by watching the new Amazing Spider-Man trailer in the embedded player.Read More
