Marvel to Celebrating Leading Ladies by adding them to their games

Marvel has done a lot recently for its leading ladies. Now they will highlight them in a new event they are calling Women of Power.  Starting March 3, Marvel Games will release new characters and more content across it catalog of mobile, console, and PC titles such as Lego Marvel Avengers, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Avenger Academy. This should get rid of many of the compliants that folks had of characters like black widow not appearing in the Avengers game titles. There was a small uproar when marvel didnt include many of its female characters in its games, and toys after the movies had female protagonists. Hit the jump for the full list of whats coming to what games.

  • Lego Marvel’s Avengers: Captain Marvel, Moonstone, Poundcakes.
  • Marvel Contest of Champions: New event quest featuring Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and X-23.
  • Marvel Avengers Academy: “Several all-new female heroes will be joining the student body of the Academy during a special event.”
  • Marvel Puzzle Quest: “New ‘Women of Power’ variant comic covers featuring their top female characters.”
  • Marvel Future Fight: New game event featuring Proxima Midnight
  • Spider-Man Unlimited: New event featuring Silk.
  • Marvel Heroes 2016: New update will introduce the character Rescue and let you unlocked a new power costume for American Dream.

About Fionna Schweit

Hi, Im fionna Fox! and i love video games. I have been playing video games since I could reach the keyboard. My first PC was a gateway (though dont ask me to recall the model number) and I remember starting most of my games out of DOS. Those were interesting years. My first console system was an Nintendo 64, on which i played a lot of GoldenEye and StarFox 64 and even more gauntlet dark legacy. Now i mostly play PC games, though i do own a Xbox one (mostly for halo). My favorite types of games are rogue likes, and anything thats an RTS, I have a soft spot for anything in the Warhammer universe as well.
