Live Stream: Watch Us Beat Up Chickens In Guacamelee

Posted on May 8, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

This month’s PlayStation Plus offerings included the highly acclaimed Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championshop Edition so for this week’s live-stream we decided to take this Mexican wrestling inspired brawler for a bit of a spin.

Unlike last week’s live-stream this week features commentary by not only myself but occasional writer for Broken Joysticks Ben Longpre who last reviewed The Awakened Fate Paradox.  We talk about the game’s mechanics, what other games we are playing and reminisce about the launch of the PlayStation.

Fair warning: I am pretty terrible at this game, so there is quite a bit of dying involved. I hope you enjoy the stream and look for more gameplay streams from Broken Joysticks.

Live-Stream: 30 More Minutes of Omega Quintet

Posted on April 27, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Last night we ran a one hour live stream featuring more gameplay from Idea Factory International’s upcoming Omega Quintet for the PlayStation 4. The majority of this footage takes place during one of the character’s final tests to become a verse maiden, the in-universe idols / monster slayers.

We will be rendering our final verdict on Omega Quintet tomorrow evening when our written review goes live.

Depending on the viewership numbers for our archived live streams we may run more in the future.

Omega Quintet  will be released both digitally and at physical retailers tomorrow.

Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta Expands With New Maps & Modes

Posted on January 4, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection can now enjoy the Xbox One only multiplayer beta for Halo 5: Guardians. Players were able to ring in the new year with a killing spree as the beta began last week on December 28th and will last until January 18th. A major update to the beta was released a few days ago that adds more weapons and a brand new game mode.

The new mode is called ‘Breakout’ where every player begins the match with only one life and the first team to win five rounds claims victory. In terms of new maps  Regret joins the list of available maps, Regret is a remake of the multiplayer map Midship from 2004’s Halo 2.

Check out a full list of maps and weapons available in the beta below after the jump.

Explore Nearly Fifteen Minutes of Uncharted 4 Gameplay Footage

Posted on December 6, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

During Sony’s PlayStation Experience keynote presentation Naughty Dog showed off the first gameplay demo for Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End. In this demo we see Nathan Drake climb and sneak his way through a lush jungle island. There are quite a few awesome mechanics at play – I’m not sure if they are scripted or contextual but they still impress – like when Drake uses a rope to swing across a gap and knock out an enemy right before grabbing the guys gun while in mid swing.

We know this demonstration was played in real-time on Sony’s stage because at one point the person playing fell through the game world! If you can stomach a groaning one liner or sarcastic remark approximately every minute I highly recommend checking out this trailer.

A Thief’s End is still early in development. We don’t have a solid release date yet for this PlayStation 4 exclusive but I’m sure we will see more of Nathan Drake at next year’s E3.

Take a Look at Monster Hunter 4 In This New Video Walkthrough

Posted on November 19, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Capcom is set to unleash another addictive entry in the Monster Hunter franchise next spring with the release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS. MH4 gives players access to enhanced movement with the added ability to climb in any direction as well as giving players the option to grab onto their foes.

The publisher recently released a five minute quest walkthrough that gives players a bit of a look at the game play. Also announce previously was the fact that bounty hunter Samus Aran from the Metroid series will be making an appearance in MH4! It is no wonder the game sold over 1.4 million copies when it was released in Japan earlier this year.

New Metal Gear Rising Weapons Trailer Released

Posted on February 7, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Do you want an early look at some of the badass weapons that can be unlocked in Metal Gear Rising Revenageance? Of course you do! Konami’s latest trailer gives up the goods.

The bosses in the Metal Gear franchise have always had access to insane weaponry. Whether it is Sniper Wolf’s rifle or Vulcan Raven’s gatling gun or Crying Wolf’s railgun, there have always been some awesome weapons of mass destruction at our disposal.

We already knew about the devastating polearm, as we unlocked it at the end of our one hour demo of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, last month. But did you know about the Pincer Blades or Tactical Sais? Each of these weapons can be upgraded and expanded upon using an in-game currency, as we already have detailed.

Check out the new trailer after the jump and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel where will be adding new trailers regularly.Read More
