Second Borderlands 2 DLC Leaked Via Trophies

Posted on October 18, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Borderlands 2

Gearbox Software just can’t seem to keep the DLC for Borderlands 2 a secret now can they? Are after the reveal of the first of several planned DLC add-ons earlier in the month through PS3 trophies, users have now mentioned “Mr.Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage”.

Spotted by an eagle eyed reader over at Joystiq the description of this potential DLC reads “Mr Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage 0%”.  Rumors surrounding the existence of the Torgue DLC sprang up in September just after the game launched.

Keep your eyes on your trophies vault hunters, they might just lead you to the next big treasure!

Borderlands 2 – Captain Scarlett & Her Pirate’s Booty Coming Next Week

Posted on October 11, 2012 by Joshua Rust

It seems like only yesterday that we started talking about the potential upcoming dlc for Borderlands 2wait, that was yesterday! Confirmed today by Gearbox and Randy Pitchford, Borderlands 2 – Captain Scarlett & Her Pirate’s Booty will be launching on marketplaces next week!

I’m a bit amazed as to how quick Gearbox is releasing this new dlc so close to the games’ launch – but I won’t complain as I’m completely in love with Borderlands 2. I’ve got a few new images for the dlc that you can check out after the jump.

First Borderlands 2 DLC Leaked?

Posted on October 10, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Borderlands 2

UPDATE: I’ve found some screenshots to go along with this story as well (after the jump).

According to some PC tech savvy people and the trophy list over at PS3trophies.com the first (presumably) dlc for Borderlands 2 will revolve around a new area called Oasis. It will also, again presumably, be called “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty.” Not really sure what the pirate trend is all about this year, but anything Borderlands 2 makes me all for it!

Gearbox Investigating Badass Tokens Glitch in Borderlands 2

Posted on September 25, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

For those who are unfamiliar with Badass Tokens, they are a part of a new system called the Badass Rank which replaces the gun proficiency of the first game. For completing a certain number of in-game challenge will award you the tokens which you can spend on stat upgrades. It was brought to gearbox’s attention in their forums that some players are experiencing a glitch that resets their Badass Token collection. When the glitch occurs, the tracker shows the challenge completed but they are unable to earn that token back. Not only that but the upgrades that were purchased with the tokens are vanishing too.Read More

Mechromancer Not The Only New Class Coming To Borderlands 2?

Posted on September 21, 2012 by Joshua Rust

With the release of Borderlands 2 just a few short days ago, you would think the hype for this game is over. Wrong! Randy Pitchford, CEO & Executive Producer, has teased some more information about even more classes are a possiblity for Borderlands 2.

Here are a few thing that Randy Pitchford had to say in a Q&A:

“We created the ability in Borderlands 2 to add additional characters because we want to use that ability. ”

“The Mechromancer is the first one. I hope to do more. The success of the Mechromancer will help to define this. Our ambition and passion and our fans requests will also contribute to decision making about what we do.”

Borderlands 2 DLC May Visit The Sand Dunes Star Wars Style

Posted on September 17, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Speaking at GearBox Software’s Community Day CEO Randy Pitchford gave us a bit of tease as to the content of the upcoming Borderlands 2 DLC. He says that the DLC is insired by the sand cruisers in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Apparently Randy has always wanted to skid along the sand, and just maybe we’ll get to share in this experience digitally with him.

He said:

“I’ve always wanted to ride a sail barge and drive a Sand Skiff, I’ve always wanted to do that, and we’ve got some cool stuff that’s along those lines.”

The original Borderlands received 3 downloadable episodes and GearBox plans to continue this tradition by releasing 4 expansions to Borderlands 2 by next June. Borderlands 2 releases tomorrow for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3.

Borderlands 2 Skill Tree Builder Is Live!

Posted on September 7, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 is my most anticipated title of 2012. While the days are going by (11 to go from today) Gearbox keeps feeding us more and more new information. Today they launched the skill tree builder for everyone to check out. It gives you a preview as to what you want to do with your character – plan ahead so to speak. Unfortunately, the Mechromancer’s skill tree isn’t available – only the four launch characters.

Here are the direct links to each characters page, though I’m not sure if you can go directly to them because of the age gate.

Maya, The Siren’s Skill Tree

Salvador, The Gunzerker’s Skill Tree

Axton, The Commando’s Skill Tree

Zer0, The Assassin’s Skill Tree

If those don’t work, you can access this through the Borderlands 2 website, then click on Characters then when you get to that page, click on the character you want to view the skill tree for. Lastly, once you get to the prefered character page you click on View Skill Tree.

Borderlands 2 will release September 18th – which is not soon enough!

Borderlands 2 Mechromancer Coming October 16th

Posted on September 5, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Mechromancer

Borderlands 2 is only a few short weeks away and no one is more excited about this than us! Gearbox has been showing off the 5th playable character, but has yet to give us an exact release date – until now. The Mechromancer will hit marketplaces roughly about a month after the Borderlands 2 September 18th release date. The Mechromancer will be $10 (or 800 MSP) when she arrives on the marketplace October 16th. Or depending on where you pre-ordered the game, you will get her free as a redeemable code.

For those unfamiliar with the Mechromancer, you can check out our coverage here.

In addition to the Mechromancer, Gearbox has also announced a Season Pass for $30 – which will include four add-ons.

Again, Borderlands 2 launches September 18th and the Mechromancer DLC will hit October 16th. So who’s excited? I know many of you have been following this game for a while, who are you planning on as your starter character?

Gearbox Reveals More Details On The Mechromancer

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Broken Joysticks

Some new information has emerged about Borderlands 2’s fifth character class; the Mechromancer.

The Mechromancer is a kind of cyber punk-looking character with goggles,  pigtails and a robotic arms, capable of summoning a giant robot called Deathtrap that when released, draws fire away from the player. Currently still unnamed, Gearbox described her as their “cutest” design ever and her skill tree is being designed around how great players are in the game.

Meet the Mechromancer In Borderlands 2

Posted on July 23, 2012 by Seung Lee

Mechromancer

The fine folks over at Gearbox Software have been diligently working on Borderlands 2, one of the most anticipated games of the year (for me anyway). Thanks to their hard work, Borderlands 2 has just gone into certification for release. Now, while the on-disc content may be finished, that doesn’t mean that the downloadable content isn’t. The Mechromancer class is just one of the many pieces of extra content that players can expect in the future.

I know what you might be thinking right now: “Why are the developers already thinking about DLC? Why can’t they just include this stuff on the disc?” Well, no need to fret, the Mechromancer will be available for download when it’s out, for the low, low cost of absolutely free. Those who pre-order Borderlands 2 will receive the class about 60-90 days after the initial release. When the Mechromancer will be available for those who don’t pre-order the game is still unknown. It’s refreshing to see a company actually be generous enough to give its customers extra content for free when it has no obligation to do so.

Reenter The Vault With Borderlands 2 Ultimate Edition

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Borderlands 2 will be receiving not one but two special editions 2K Games and Gearbox Studios have announced. If you’ve ever needed a reason to reenter the vault one more time the Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Edition and Ultimate Loot Chest Editions might give you more than enough reasons to return to Pandora in search of sweet, sweet loot.

The Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Edition comes with a copy of Borderlands 2 in the flavor of your choice, a Marcus Bobble Head, four stickers, collector’s edition box, a map of Pandora and a hard cover artbook. Not a bad deal for $99.99, if I say so myself.Read More
