Max Payne 3 | Preview

Posted on May 2, 2012 by Jesse Lord

A couple of weeks ago, I was given an opportunity to head up to New York City to hang out with some friends from Rockstar Games as well as some other website guys that I’ve had a chance to get to know over the years at similar such events.  The purpose of this trip specifically was Max Payne 3.  The event culminated on Saturday evening, where we were taken to a building that on the inside was made to look like an abandoned warehouse in which a gunfight had recently taken place.  There were spent bullet casings littered throughout the

Solid Snake will be deployed on the PlayStation Vita for the first time with the release of the Metal Gear Solid Collection this June Konami has announced. The Vita version of the collection will include the re-mastered versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 that were released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last November. The ability to bring these two classics isn’t the only selling point for the Vita version of the collection. Players will be able to use their fingers to zoom and peak around corners. The game also supports the “transfaring” option

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Revealed

Posted on April 27, 2012 by Matthew Regier

Sony has stepped up to bat with their new Sony property fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. What this game is, is essentially taking characters from different Sony licenses and putting them together and having them fight each other, much like the popular Nintendo franchise that came before it. So far there have been six characters announced in this early version of the game. The six confirmed characters are: Kratos, Sly Cooper, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth, Parappa the Rapper, and Mael Radec (Killzone). What makes this title different is in how you win. Where you need to strike the opposing players

Rayman Legends Boasts Exclusive Wii-U Functionality

Posted on April 27, 2012 by Jesse Lord

First things first.  If you haven’t gotten your grubby mitts on Rayman Origins, spectacular game that it is, go do that.  Right now.  I’ll wait. Done?  Great.  Ok, so there has been a rumbling that Ubisoft is working on a follow-up to that refreshing platformer, and the news has broken by way of a leaked trailer for Rayman Legends, which you will see embedded below the jump.  This in and of itself is great news – unfortunately Rayman Origins, while generally critically–acclaimed across platforms, did not see spectacular sales and therefore the likelihood of a sequel seemed to be but

Posted on April 25, 2012 by Jesse Lord

In an article over at CVG, we learn that Crysis dev Crytek have some interesting thoughts about next gen, specifically as it pertains to keeping Piracy down and preventing the used game market from stealing their cash monies. Rasmus Hojengaard, Crytek’s director of creative development, issued the following statement in an interview over at the site: “The worst thing that can happen is they make something that’s very complex for developers, regardless of how awesome it might theoretically be,” he said. “So getting hardware that allows you to quickly get prototypes up and running, and any kind of scalability they

Skype Comes To PS Vita With Video Conference Support

Posted on April 24, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The PlayStation Vita will be receiving its own version of Skype, the popular voice/video chat software, in the latest PlayStation Store update. Skype will be available on both the 3G and Wifi models and will also support Video chat using the system’s front facing VGA camera. If you’ve been looking for a way to replicate late 90s video conferences complete with muddy image quality and stray pixels the PS Vitas camera might be your best choice. Seriously Sony, only 640×480 on those bad boys? I know the Vita has been out for months but even cell phones from 2006 had

Hackers Break Open The Vita Again With Unnamed PSP Title

Posted on April 23, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Sony was very prompt with their response the last time hackers found an exploit in the PSP versions of Motorstorm and Hot Shots Tennis. Both of those games have been patched and are now available for purchase on the PSN but this hasn’t stopped hackers from showing off another exploit using a yet to be revealed PSP title currently available on the store. In a one minute YouTube video, which you can watch below, YouTuber frwololo plays id Software’s classic Doom on Sony’s $250 handheld. Isn’t that what expensive handhelds are for?, playing 18 year old DOS games!. Presumably once
