Shantae Kickstarted Project to be Released on PS Vita

The folks at WayForward have announced today on their Kickstarter page that with Sony’s announcment of the newest model of PS VITA and PS VITA that the game they are fundraising for will also be released on Sony’s portable. WayForward Launches Kickstarter for HD Shantae Game

WayForward is the latest game developer to turn to Kickstarter looking to crowd fund their latest project. The game will be a new and original game in the Shantae series and will be in HD for home consoles. WayForward has developed more than 200 licensed titles over the last 23 years, the most recent being Ducktales: Remastered. Need For Speed Franchise Now In The Hands of EA Ghost

EA’s premier racing franchise has had a bit of an identity crisis the past few years, switching from recent developer Criterion to other studios under the EA umbrella. It looks like a little bit of continuity will be coming to the franchise in future installments starting with the upcoming Need For Speed: Rivals thanks to developer EA Ghost.  Instead of switching between developers with every iteration of NFS, Ghost will handle development exclusively. Rockstar Opens the Airwaves and Details GTA V Radio Stations

After yesterday’s release of the Grand Theft Auto V official trailer, Rockstar Games released a preview of the radio stations and music that will be found within the game when it is released in just a few weeks. The song heard in the trailer was also revealed after the company had a lot of requests for the track title. That song is called “Sleepwalking” from electronic band The Chain Gang of 1974. Skylander Figures Top Sales in 2013

Activision announced last week that Skylanders figures outsold all action-figure properties in the U.S. and Europe so far in 2013. The property outpaced all toy properties overall in the U.K. year-to-date as of June 30, 2013 according to a release from Activision. GTA V’s Brief Appearance on PSN Leads To Leak of Soundtrack

RockStar’s next open world crime game, Grand Theft Auto V, appeared on the European PlayStation network as in an unplayable pre-load state for those who have digitally purchased the title. This practice is not new, digital only services like Steam have been offering pre-load as an option for years, allowing gamers to jump right in when a title releases at midnight. PS Vita Receives $50 Price Cut, Memory Cards Also Slashed

PlayStation 4 Reaches Retail On November 15th

Get ready because the PlayStation 4 launches in less than 90 days! Sony revealed at their GamesCom 2013 press conference that their latest home console will launch in North America on November 15th in North America, while gamers in Europe will have to wait two weeks for their consoles on November 29th. Konami to Update 3DS Castlevania in HD

Konami announced today that they will be updating Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate in HD for release on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Skylanders: SWAP Force Easy Going On Collectors

The info below comes from an E3 2013 interview with Gamespot. It is assumed information from this interview alone as well as confirming that older characters do indeed work in SWAP Force as the official site notes in their FAQ. Skylanders collectors probably won’t have any issue with picking up new SWAP Force figures when they are released October 13th, however if you’re a bit tight on funds you’ll be happy to learn that one aspect of the game seems to support your current set.
