Wii U Direct – Fire Emblem / Shin-Megami Tensei Crossover Planned

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo revealed a teaser trailer for an upcoming collaboration title being developed by Intelligent Systems Co. Ltd, Atlus and Nintendo. The game is a crossover between Atlus’ Shin-Megami Tensi series and Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series, though no other details were revealed.

Will this be a strategy game? Perhaps this will be a fighting game in the same vein as Marvel vs. Capcom. Considering the roots of the Shin-Megami Tensi series as a dungeon crawler and rpg it’s likely to be a crossover story and an RPG, but a nice fighter would be welcome.Read More

New Fire Emblem Awakening Trailer

Posted on January 21, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo released a new commercial for their upcoming trip game Fire Emblem Awakening today. The trailer sheds some light on the game including the fact that certain choices in the game will impact your outcome later.

“Every decision counts,” the trailer warns. “This is life; this is death.”

Seems like a pretty ominous especially when you have a reset button. But the implications are obvious and rather exciting. It’s nice to have consequences and differing outcomes based on your choices rather than one vanilla story and end result. Branching storylines, if this is what will be implemented, are fantastic.Read More

January 17th Nintendo Download

Posted on January 17, 2013 by Jason Nason

No love for DSiWare this week as the week’s releases are confined to the Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo released the highly anticipated Fire Emblem Awakening demo today as well as Kirby’s Star Stacker for the 3DS Virtual Console and the quirky Tokyo Crash Mobs. Otherwise there’s a couple of older 3DS retail titles added to digital download and the addition of Amazon Instant Video to the Wii U. Somewhat of a slow week on the download front this week.

Weird! Me too!

Okay, not really. The reality is that most of us don’t even crack the cover of the instructions unless we want to look at the pictures or if the game has a complicated and sometimes confusing controls *Ahem, sports games.*

Let’s face it. Most games are either really intuitive or guide you through the basic steps to playing the game without spoiling anything.

Most games. Not this one.

FIFA 13 | Review

Posted on October 23, 2012 by Jason Nason

FIFA 13 is a solid soccer game with lots of depth and the key to playing the game is to remember the old phrase that “there is no I in team.”

While that may seem like a silly thing to say when playing a single player game the game is much more satisfying and you will have more fun playing if you let the other game controlled players on your team take part in the defending.Read More
