Check Out ‘If My Heart Had Wings’ Release Trailer

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

Dating Sims are a genre that is too few and far between, at least that’s what I’ve thought over these years. In general, they take romantic storylines and put you in control of their outcome. Usually with a lot of drama along the way.

MoeNovel has released If My Heart Had Wings in English and you can check out the trailer after the break. Even though the game is censored to only focus on the romance aspects and keep the sexual content out of the game, this still looks like a fun story to explore. Of course too, with beautiful artwork!Read More

Cursed Loot Is A Treasure To Pick Up!

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

I’m always poking away at Xbox Lives indie section for treasures like Cursed Loot, and this is a fun title especially for such cost as a dollar (well 80msp). The game is at first just another take on the classic Rogue gameplay of searching through a dungeon, leveling your character, and fighting mosters most of the time by bumping into them to attack.

However, Eyehook Games adds multiple choice role playing moments and even a coin rush side scroller section that really add some extra fun to the original formula. There’s even a slot machine! The game consists of a randomly generated 50 floor dungeon and 6 playable character classes. There’s tons of loot to find, including as the title indicates, cursed loot that you need to use a scroll to remove from your character. The trick is too, just like classic Rogue, you only have one life! Read on for the trailer.Read More

Rogue Legacy Scratches That Metroidvania Itch

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

Sure, it’s not exactly the same and has a bit of a lighter feeling of sorts, but Rogue Legacy combines the randomness of classic “Rogue like” games and the side scrolling exploration of Metroidvania style Castlevania advetures. Eager as I am for a new Castlevania title like the DS and Symphony of the Night games, I dove into Rogue Legacy hoping for somewhat of the same feel and I’m having fun!

The biggest complaint I’ve heard about the game is how it’s more so a grind getting gold that you then use to choose parts of your keep to improve to level up. However the focus of the game also is the whole Legacy aspect of the title, meaning when your character dies you continue your legacy with a chosen heir. Each of the three choices you’re given after each death can potentially have unique features, such as various visual impairments or even some traits that work as a bonus. Check out the trailer after the break to see what I mean.Read More

Quick Fix Inc’s epet game with some Pokémon inspired elements has made it’s way from Android onto the iOS store! It is a free to play title with ad support, which means the game does require an internet connection.

For a full list of compatable products Epic Pets 3D will run on, check out the games iTunes page listing. Read on after the break for a couple more game images.Read More

No Cutscenes or Story Mode For The Next Super Smash Bros

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros series is quite possibly one of the greatest ideas of all time – let’s take beloved video game characters from the last few decades and have them battle it out – but the next entry in the long running franchise will lose two of its greatest advancements: a single-player story mode and cut scenes. These enhancements were introduced in 2008’s Super Smash Bros Brawl, and were lauded by many Smash fans, myself included, and now they will be no more.

In a recent interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu series director Masahiro Sakurai broke down his decision to remove them from the development process simply: He feels that the experience of watching the game’s planned cut scenes will be ruined by interned users uploading the videos to the internet. Read More

The Guided Fate Paradox Begins This Fall

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

NIS titles are no stranger to heaven and hell inspired themes in their games with Disgaea and several others in their library. So it shouldn’t be too surprising when we say The Guided Fate Paradox focuses on a high school student named Renya who becomes a “god” by winning a lottery in a mall. As such, Renya travels through a reflection of the real world known as the Copy World to answer peoples wishes.

Interestingly, the game is being developed by the same team as Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. However, as much as the game looks like your usual tactical adventure, the YouTube page notes the game as an “extremely approachable roguelike RPG”. It should be interesting to see how that plays out. Want to see more? Check out the trailer after the break.Read More

13 Minutes of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gameplay

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

If you’re like myself and absolutely loved the naval combat in AC3, you’ll be pleased to know that it seems like huge sailing ships are virtually AC4’s open world game cars in the sense of ease it takes to transition from land to sea adventure! Literally you just free run up onto your ship, take command, and sail away. No loading screens, no interruptions in the action.

It’s quite impressive to see in action and the video after the break even expands on the world of Black Flag. The game really has a powerful feeling of exploration to it from this video, and it definitely looks like another classic.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sets sail on October 29th for current gen consoles, however next gen versions are in the works for PS4 and Xbox One.Read More

Laharl, Etna, and Flonne Return This Fall

Posted on July 27, 2013 by Les Major

You’ve quested after Overlord Zenon as Adell, and even gone to school to learn it’s good to be bad at what you do, nevermind your stop over with Marona in Phantom Brave and leading your army in Makai Kingdom to save Lord Zetta’s Netherworld. This fall for the 10th anniversary of Disgaea’s original release, it’s time to reunite with the original cast in an all new game!

While we have seen cameo appearances in the past, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness will see familiar faces and all new characters in the familiar gameplay you’ve come to love. For me, this series was an instant hit. It’s fantastic news to see it expanding yet again. Check out D2’s second trailer after the break.Read More
