Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.1 Release Date, Producer Q&A and Trailer

Posted on October 27, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Square Enix’s first huge update for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavansward, patch 3.1, arrives on November 10th the publisher has announced. Alongside the announcement of the release date Square also provided a Q & A during the most recent Letter From The Producer Live and a very informative 7 minute trailer giving players a rundown of everything that will be included in 3.1!

Patch 3.1 As Goes Light So Goes Darkness brings with it a lot of brand new content. The story threads left hanging after the completion of FFXIV: Heavansward will be continued in the new main story quests,  New exploratory missions for free-companies (guilds) will be available, the first of which is known as The Diadem.  One brand new dungeon will be added for level 60 players as well – Saint Mociane’s Arboretum.   Possibly one of the most exciting additions, which we detailed previously when it was unveiled is the new 24 man raid known as the Void Ark.

Make sure you check out the trailer I’ve included in the embedded player before the jump. I’ve also included some of the details from the official Q&A thread from the Letters From The Producer Live that I thought would be of interest for returning players. I know that I’ll be re-subbing for the new raid content, and hey new story quests are always welcomed 😀

If November 10th sounds familiar – it is also the same day that Fallout 4 and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void are released. It’s going to be a big day for games!

Turn-Based Wild West Shooting Game Hard West Releasing November 4th

Posted on October 19, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Developed by CreativeForge Games, a new studio that has made exactly one game before this which I hadn’t heard of before googling them, Hard West is a strange beast. With a gameplay style shown in trailers that is reminiscent of the highly underrated Shadowrun Returns and a rather unique setting for a tactical game, this has been one I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while. And now it’s finally coming out November 4th! Read More

The game takes players back to the 1980s when there were less bits, very few cut-scenes and no online play.

  • Remake in your Image! Modify the world of Gamindustri to your liking by creating “Plans” that alter dungeon treasures, enemy difficulty, and more!
  • Get Crafty! Customize powerful equipment that can unlock the true power of the CPUs, opening up a world of new skills for them to use!

Alongside the release announcement we’ve also got the minimum specs required to run Rebirth ;3 and they’re not too bad considering that this is a port of a PS Vita game. Here they are:

Star Fox pilots prepare to scramble towards your Arwings for a November 20th launch date! That’s right Nintendo’s upcoming reimagining of Fox McCloud and friends – Star Fox Zero – arrives on the Wii U this winter.

The game was revealed during this summer’s E3 Nintendo Direct and was also the focus of several lengthy Nintendo Treehouse presentations during the convention.

Zero marks the return to the skies for the franchise after almost a decade without a proper console release as well as the addition of the Arwing Walker mode from the cancelled SNES title Star Fox 2 allowing pilots to take on foes in both aerial and land battles.

Mighty Number 9 Gets a Mighty New Release Date

Posted on April 28, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Keiji Inafune’s highly anticipated first post Capcom release Mighty Number 9 finally has a solid release date – September 15th 2015 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Presumably the PS Vita version will launch soon thereafter but publisher Deep Silver doesn’t exactly sound prepared to discuss the specific release plans for the handheld version.

Mighty Number 9 is a spiritual successor of sorts to Inafune’s most well-known creation Mega Man. Running along a 2D plane the player is able to run, jump and shoot various projectiles at enemies. By defeating bosses Beck, the game’s protagonist, is able to transform into new forms to land devastating attacks on his foes.

Mighty Number 9’s successful Kickstarter was announced almost two years ago at the 2013 Penny Arcade Expo. The game went on to become one of the most successful KickStarter projects ever – raising over 4 million dollars.Read More

Posted on September 13, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Remember when RockStar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto V would be coming to current generation consoles like the PlayStation 4 sometime soon? The studio revealed this week that the latest GTA will be making its way on to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18th 2014 and will be available on Windows PC on January 27th 2015!

Xbox One Launches November 22nd 2013

Posted on September 4, 2013 by Les Major

Microsoft announced today that their next-gen console will be released on November 22nd. The system, which it seems is unable to be pre-ordered anywhere anymore, retails for $500. This launch includes the initial launch markets of Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. More markets will follow in 2014.

The Xbox 360 was released in the USA and Canada back in 2005, also on November 22nd. With day one exclusives like Dead Rising 3, a new Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome, Microsofts latest system is looking very promising now that many DRM concerns that fans were against have been removed. The console does still come with Kinect but it seems the add on is no longer required.

It’s been a rough couple months for Xbox, but they have listened to their fans and most importantly have shown some very promising titles on the way.

The Checkered Flag Drops for Gran Turismo 6 on Dec 6th

Posted on August 21, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

PlayStation 4 might be all the gaming press (us included!) have been talking about these past few months but lest we not forget that the PS3 is still alive and kicking! polyphony digital’s latest racing masterpiece will head to store shelves on December 6th Sony announced during their GamesCom presentation.

We’ve known about Gran Turismo 6 for sometime, as the game was originally hinted at way back in 2011, right after GT5 shipped. It was finally revealed this past May, and while GT5 may bear a passing resemblance to its predecessor, this latest version sports 33 different tracks, 1200 cars and major upgrades to the rendering engine.

Alongside the announcement they also showcased a brand new trailer for the game, which weve included after the jump.

PlayStation 4 Reaches Retail On November 15th

Posted on August 20, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Get ready because the PlayStation 4 launches in less than 90 days! Sony revealed at their GamesCom 2013 press conference that their latest home console will launch in North America on November 15th in North America, while gamers in Europe will have to wait two weeks for their consoles on November 29th.

Sony’s suggested retail price is $399 USD/CDN or 399 Euros, but I suspect that that price will skyrocket once units hit Ebay. If you haven’t already pre-ordered your console then you might be out of luck, as EB Games/GameStop ceased taking pre-orders some time ago.

That means, if you are reading this from Canada or the United States, you need to save approximately $4.45 every day until the console is released, or you know just pay the whole thing off in one lump sum.

We’ll have more on the PlayStation 4 as the system’s launch approaches.

Pokemon X & Y Will Release Worldwide on October 12th

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Gotta Catch ‘Em All Right? That’s the slogan that the Pokemon franchise has used for years, to remind us that we are all helpless slaves to the latest version of Nintendo’s monster catching RPG. Be prepared to enter the world of Pokemon once again with the latest entries Pokemon X & Y, which Nintendo revealed will be available worldwide starting October 12th.

More gameplay details surrounding the titles also surfaced during this morning’s E3 Direct live stream including the inclusion of a new ‘fairy type’. Only one new pokemon was mentioned for this type, an Eevee evolution known as Slyveon, but Nintendo has opted to also modify three other existing Pokemon to bolster the ranks of this new type. Joining Slyveon, from previous generations are: Marill, Garevoir and Jigglypuff.

Also unveiled was a new gameplay mode titled ‘Pokemon Touch Element’ that allows trainers to interact with their Pokemon using the stylus. You’ll also be able to mimic their moves and they can react to you, using the console’s front facing camera. This has the potential to bring a neat little mini-game, unlike we’ve seen in the Pokemon franchise, to our Nintendo 3DS’.

Rumor Has It The Next Xbox Will Have Always On DRM

Posted on February 6, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Rumor has it that Microsoft will require a constant connection in order to use their next generation gaming console. Internet connections are almost ubiquitous now-a-days, as we live in an age where you can browse your favorite websites and play online multiplayer games at broadband speed through your phone. If these rumors are accurate then Microsoft will be taking an aggressive stance against not only piracy, but second hand games sales with the constant connection requirement in the Xbox Durango.

Edge Online brings us these latest tidbits about Redmond’s yet unannounced console. Some of this stuff we’ already knew or assumed – like the existence of a Blu-Ray drive in the console or the fact that the system will be a multi-core processor clocked at 1.6GHZ, designed by AMD. Also as speculated, the console will ship with a second generation Kinect Sensor. With rival Sony poised to fire the first shot in the next-generation race, tech specs and reports seem to be leaking from both companies at a brisk pace.Read More

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Slotted For March Release

Posted on December 11, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

N.I.S America has announced that the third entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory will be released in North America in March of 2013. The game, like the other two main entries in the franchise, will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. No word on an exact release date but they did release several screenshots and a trailer to promote the game.

I’m.. going to try and contain myself like the fangirl that I am and tell you that the Neptunia series is some of the cheekiest and most hilarious satire of the console wars in sometime. Sure, the first game had some issues with grinding and dry combat mechanics, and it got some negative press for both of those, but the sequels are miles better and Victory includes some pretty neat additions.

Check out more after the jump… and N.I.S, JUST TAKE MY MONEY!Read More
