Dead Island

New Dead Island game confirmed by Australian Government

Australia’s ratings board is pretty well known for spoiling major game reveals. So when PCgamer reports that they have broken the seals on a new Dead Island game, I am inclined to believe them. The classification site recently listed a new game called Dead Island Retro Revenge, which it slapped with an “M” rating for bloody violence and online interactivity. So Dead Island was pretty violent and bloody so no surprise there, and online suggests it will hopefully...

Swordplay Shown In Hellraid Dev Diary

Perhaps one of my most anticipated titles for 2014, yes I’m not like most other people, is Hellraid. From the studio that brought us Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, comes a dark fantasy twist from Techland with the awesome gameplay that made the Dead Island franchise so popular. For those unfamiliar, you can check out some of the screenshots that have been released. You can also see the first gameplay trailer that was released almost a...

February’s Games with Gold Titles Announced

With the end of each month, comes the newest announcement of the next two games that Microsoft will make free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Last month, gamers had the chance to pick up Sleeping Dogs for the first half of January and for the second half the Xbox Live arcade title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. It seems that Microsoft is starting to turn the tide and are starting to release pretty decent titles for...

First Gameplay Of Hellraid Emerges

Announced just a little over a week ago was Hellraid, coming from developer of the popular Dead Island franchise, Techland. Hellraid is essentially Dead Island meets Skyrim with four player co-op – which sounds like a win-win to me.  Here is how the game is described on the official website in terms of playable classes: Play in cooperation in a team of four heroes with different skills and weapon capabilities. Slaughter enemies with swords and axes as...

New Dead Island: Riptide Info!

Just got an email a bit ago from our friends at Deep Silver, chock full of new information about Dead Island: Riptide.  First of all, that handsome fellow in the featured image at the top there?  That’s John Morgan.  He’s your fifth playable character, and he ain’t one of those “play this one level designed for this character” additions to the DI franchise.  No, he’s one with whom you can play the whole campaign.  A hand-to-hand combat...

Dead Island: Riptide Collector’s Edition?

In a fit of genius, our friends at Deep Silver have created a survey to find out what you, their loyal fans, want most in a potential Dead Island: Riptide Collector’s Edition!  Keep in mind that right now this is just a fact-finding mission for them, and it in no way guarantees that 1) you’ll get the items you want the most from the survey and 2) there will even be a collector’s edition released! If you...

First Dead Island: Riptide Details Emerge

Hot off the press from my fabulous Deep Silver contact, we have the first bit of information on the storyline and gameplay elements of Dead Island: Riptide.  Our same four familiar faces play the main roles, with a fifth character, complete with a new skillset different than the others, joining the fray as well.  The storyline is somewhat perfect for the horror-genre that this game comfortably rests within, in that the ending of the last game, where...

Dead Island: Riptide, Sacred 3 To Debut At PAX Prime

Just got some great news from a super-fantastic PR friend of mine from Deep Silver.  Word on the street is, both Dead Island: Riptide and Sacred 3 will be shown at PAX Prime!  That’s right, if you’ve got the ability to head to PAX Prime this year, you’ll have the ability to see the public debut of two of Deep Silver’s knock-out franchises.  Along with that tid-bit of information, my PR contact was nice enough to send...

Dead Island DLC Giveaway

I don’t know why, but Thursday’s mortify me. It is unquestionably the scariest day of the week. The spooky mood this morning has inspired me to give out something horror related. Alas, we don’t have any proper horror games. Instead, we’re going to shake things up a bit and give out DLCs. We have Steam, Xbox 360, and PS3 codes for Dead Island’s Bloodbath Arena and Ryder White DLCs. You will find these codes hidden in our...
