Walking Dead FPS Announced By Activision

Posted on July 10, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activision will be publishing a first person shooter based upon AMC’s The Walking Dead television show the publisher announced today. The game is due out in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC and should not be confused with TellTale Game’s series of adventure games based upon the Walking Dead graphic novels.

The Walking Dead for Xbox 360 will be developed by Terminal Reality, the developer behind Kinect Star Wars, Turning Point Fall of Liberty  and The Ghostbusters Videogame.  The Walking Dead TV series builds a surreal amount of tension and atmosphere and the game is set to recreate this by throwing hordes of the undead who rely on sight, smell and other reflexes in order to hunt player characters.

Activision will have a booth at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con (Booth #5344) where fans can pre-order the game, take part in a photo-op and potentially grab a promotional ‘walker ears’ necklace.

Call of Duty MW3 Collection #2 Hits Xbox Live

Posted on May 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The latest collection of add-on maps have been released on Xbox Live. Collection #2 adds 3 multiplayer maps, 2 Spec Ops Missions and 2 “Face-Off” Maps.  Face-off is a new mode where the focus is on close quarters combat rather than the larger areas that the COD franchise is known for.

Modern Warfare 3 Collection 2 adds the following maps – Getaway,  Lookout:, Sanctuary, Foundation, Oasis, Kill Switch, Iron Clad. The maps were originally part of the COD Elite service, which drops maps more perioidically but requires a $44.99 a year commitment. Alternatively you can purchase Collection 2 for 1200 Microsooft Points.

Correction: An earlier version of this story contained a factual error. It stated that this was “Collection #3” when in fact this is the second round of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3 to hit Xbox Live.

Tony Hawk HD’s Soundtracks Transports Us Back To 2000

Posted on May 23, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activision is set to take the Tony Hawk franchise back to its roots with this summer’s Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD. The game revisits a simpler time when racking up a high score and collecting letters actually meant something. Gameplay mechanics and level design aren’t the only thing lifted from the early 2000s, the game’s soundtrack will also transport you back an entire decade.

Back in ’99 – ’01 when the first two Tony Hawk games were released back on the Dreamcast and original PlayStation Nu-Metal and rock bands where still king. Tony Hawk HD pays homage to these musical styles with a collection of songs from the first two games combined with a few new artists.

The full track list was recently revealed in an interview with Sound and Vision magazine. Check it out below:Read More
