Zombies Are Invading Counter-Strike: Global Offensive!

Posted on August 17, 2012 by Seung Lee

Valve has teamed up with a mod team over at PlagueFest, a community site that works on mods for games like Counter-Strike: Source and ArmA II, to create a zombie mod for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This content will be available on only the PC version of the game (99% sure here), and you won’t have to wait to test it out, because it’ll release on the same day as Global Offensive. This certainly isn’t the first time that we’ve seen zombies in a first-person shooter. Treyarch’s recent Call of Duty games and ArmA II are the most popular  in the

Sony Thinks It Is Too Early To Cut Vita’s Price

Posted on August 16, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The PlayStation Vita is certainly struggling in Japan with prospects being a little better here in North America. Many potential vita owners have been waiting for a price drop before snapping up Sony’s latest handheld and unfortunately it could be 2013 at the earliest before Sony relents on it’s $249.99 price point. Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida said to EuroGamer, in an interview with GamesCom “At a certain point in the future we would like to address the pricing issue for some of the people who are waiting,”. The hardware maker reported that it had sold 1.8 million PS Vita and PSP

Celebrate The Olympics With NBA 2K13

Posted on August 15, 2012 by Seung Lee

It’s the 20th anniversary of the USA’s “Dream Team” for the Basketball event at the Olympics, and 2K Games is celebrating by including the 1992 and 2012 teams in NBA 2K13. Jay-Z, the executive producer behind 2K13, states that he made the decision to have these two crews in the game so that people could settle “one of the greatest sports debates of our time.” I’ve never heard people hype up the 2012 team, and probably for good reason. You just can’t compete against people like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Scottie Pippen. Although, Pippen appears to be

Metal Gear Rising
Early this morning, Konami premiered a trailer for the latest title in the Metal Gear saga. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance finaily has a concrete release date after years of lingering in devolpment limbo, with the previously mentioned 2013 release date now seeing Raiden slicing into stores February 19. In a mostly repurposed trailer from E3, Konami showed the more emotional side of the upcoming action extravaganza by showing the bond between a cyborg and his mechanical mutt.

Posted on August 14, 2012 by Jeff Wade

Gamescom brings a brand new trailer for the upcoming Dead Space 3 that looks to assuage fears that there won’t be any scares in the game with plenty of quick cuts to hulking monsters. This notes the first time that fears have been calmed by giant dismembered beasts swaying toward you in a predatory fashion. Dead Space 3 will hit the PC, PS3 and 360 on February 5 in the North America and February 8 in Europe. Addationally, it was announced that Dead Space 3 comes with the now requisite first run copy bonus with a limited edition that includes exclusive weapons and armor. [youtube id=”GNGGMexuIdg”

During GamesCom Sony took the wraps off of firmware version 1.8 for the PlayStation Vita. Before you groan and mumble *not another firmware update* you should know that this update adds a few highly requested features including the ability to play PS One classics on the system. Starting in two weeks, on August 28th, you’ll be able to play FFVII and Tomb Raider II on the PS Vita. These two classics were announced during Sony’s E3 press conference this past June. We’re not sure why they don’t just open up the ability for all available PS ONE classics to be

Killzone Mercenary Coming To PS Vita

Posted on August 14, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Killzone franchise is coming to the PlayStation Vita in the near future (presumably 2013) with the announcement of Killzone Mercenary. Sony showcased a brief live action/gameplay trailer during their media presentation. This is just pure speculation but the live action showcases a mercenary making his way through what seems to be an industrial facility. On the gameplay front we see the same character (we presume) performing brutal neck snaps and ranking up experience points for every kill. Could this be an indication of the series awesome multiplayer making the jump to the Vita? Perhaps Mercenary devaites from the established

Sleeping Dogs Won’t Be So Sleepy With Six Months Of DLC

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Seung Lee

It’s a recent business practice that I can’t stand: creating “new” content for purchase immediately after a game releases. Capcom has been guilty of doing this for a while (see Street Fighter x Tekken), and now Square-Enix is going to join in on the trend. Sleeping Dogs will have six months of planned DLC, which is already frustrating to hear. I can appreciate wanting to extend the lifespan of your game, but not when the DLC in question seems to consist of nothing but clothing packs and weapon packs. You can expect a number of downloads for Sleeping Dogs, such
