Killer Instinct Launch Trailer Has Arrived

Posted on November 21, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Killer Instinct will launch on the Xbox One as a free-to-play downloadable digital game tonight. Quite a few gamers that were deemed worthy enough actually received the Season One characters for free for being a loyal customer. What those qualifications were, who knows? But it is pretty awesome that Microsoft did give this out for free to some lucky gamers. If you weren’t fortunate enough to make the list, you will have to buy the additional characters. Pricing, depending on what you want to do, ranges from $19.99 to $59.99. You will be able to see these options when you download Killer Instinct for free tonight (or tomorrow).

Prepare To Ryse To Power

Posted on November 20, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Continuing our coverage of the Xbox One launch videos, we have yet another exclusive Xbox One title to show you: Ryse: Son Of Rome. While I don’t want to go as far to say this game is one of the reasons people will buy the Xbox One at launch, I will say that this game is looking fantastic!

Ryse: Son of Rome tells the story of Marius Titus who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of barbarians. Seeking revenge, Marius joins the Roman army in Britannia and quickly rises through the ranks to become a General. As his war against the barbarians escalates, his quest unravels: to find his vengeance, he has to return to Rome.

Dead Rising 3’s Launch Trailer

Posted on November 19, 2013 by Joshua Rust

What better way to kick on the Xbox One system release than to get a look at one the launch trailers for the exclusive Dead Rising 3?  For continuum junkies, this game takes place almost 12 years after the events in Dead Rising 2. New added features is a “simpler” mode that won’t rush people into completing missions within a certain time frame (but don’t worry, there is a Nightmare mode for hardcore gamers that is just like the previous two sequels).

Other features include a complete open world where the are no loading times, if a user is implementing a second screen experience (through SmartGlass) they will find new interactive features throughout the game – for example, a government phone that can call in an airstrike, and though Kinect 2.0 you will be able to order your posse to attack the zombie hordes.

But, enough of that, if you want to see the launch trailer…continue after the jump!

Assault Dragon Keep Today In Borderlands 2

Posted on June 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Today is the day! The final piece of Season Pass DLC for Borderlands 2 has hit the marketplace just waiting for you to download it. If you’re feeling conflicted on whether or not to buy this (if you don’t already have the Season Pass), you can check out this developer diary and see what they have to say about it.

Personally I’m stoked about it because as I’ve stated many times before, it combines two of my favorite things gaming related: Borderlands & Fantasy.

To celebrate the releases of “Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep”, Gearbox has released a launch trailer:

Titanfall Dev Diary Takes You Behind The Scenes

Posted on June 20, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Respawn Entertainment, you know…the group of people that left Infinity Ward and Call Of Duty to pursue their own visions, have released a developer diary today of the game Titanfall. This, in many gamers eyes, is one of the big exclusives that Microsoft has up its’ sleeve.

Set in a distant frontier torn apart by war, Titanfall gives players the freedom to switch between fighting as elite assault Pilots or agile, heavily armored, 24-foot tall Titans. The advanced warfare of tomorrow gives you the freedom to fight your way as both elite assault Pilot and agile, heavily armored Titan. Online gameplay is core to the Titanfall experience, as fast-paced multiplayer action is combined with heroic moments from traditional campaign mode.

In this developer diary Drew McCoy, among other developers, want to show gamers what makes their game different from other shooters out there – and not just the shiny graphics.Read More

Borderlands 2 – Assault On Dragon Keep Dev Diary

Posted on June 20, 2013 by Joshua Rust

The final piece of DLC in the Borderlands 2 series is nearly here. In fact, it releases next week. If you happened to miss out on the Krieg gameplay video, I highly suggest you check it out here.

I’m anticipating Assault On Dragon Keep to be the best of the four DLC’s for quite a few reasons. The most important one is because it’s in Tiny Tina’s ever imaginative head. Yeah, imagine living inside that kids head… Another reason is because this download is the Borderlands version of Dungeons & Dragons, complete with dragons, wizards, golems, and more. Everything you could ever want!

To hear what the developers have to say about Assault On Dragon Keep, keep reading after the jump.

Microsoft’s Xbox One Does A 180

Posted on June 19, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Sony had a big advantage going into the next generation console war. Today, however, the clear favored Sony Playstation 4 might actually get some competition after all as Microsoft has announced an update to their Xbox One policies.

Microsoft took a hard blow at E3 when Sony announced that the Playstation 4 would not require a constant online connection and that you can “pass a game to someone standing beside you, yeah that’s how we trade.” I won’t lie, I’m a Microsoft fan and truthfully some of the policies didn’t bother me because they didn’t affect me. BUT, I do see how it does affect other people who trade in games or can’t commit to a connection every 24 hours and quite honestly it really sucked that Microsoft was headed full steam without thinking of their consumers. After all, if you betray your customers what are you left with?

I’m going to assume that it was the PS4/Xbox One pre-order ratio and the millions of previous Microsoft fans that finally go their attention – mostly the pre-orders though. But thankfully Microsoft has actually come through for you, the consumer. There are quite a few big changes to the Xbox One policy, which you can read after the jump!

Deadfall Adventures Gameplay Trailers From E3

Posted on June 18, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Announced earlier this year by Farm 51 & Nordic Games was Deadfall Adventures. To put this game into perspective…think of Lara Croft meets Indiana Jones.  Played in the first person perspective, Deadfall Adventures will take you to exotic places all across the world such as the ancient Mayan ruins, Egypt, and even the Arctic. Starring as James Lee Quatermain, great grandson of legendary Allan Quatermain, players will journey through the 1930’s in search of fame and treasure – scratch that, just treasure.

Boasting “fast paced action of intense gun battles with adventure gameplay that rewards players for exploring, solving puzzles and by taking the road less traveled,” Deadfall Adventures has great potential to be one of the “sleeper” hits of this year.

If you missed out on the E3 gameplay trailers and would like to see what Deadfall Adventures is all about, keep reading after the jump!Read More

The Elder Scrolls Online Headed To Xbox One & PS4

Posted on June 12, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Proof that developers and publisher still believe that MMO’s can work on consoles. Defiance has started off on a pretty good note, it lacks a little depth after putting in about 100+ hours but it’s still proof that they can work on a console.

So, nothing makes me happier to confirm that Bethesda is bringing The Elder Scrolls Online to both the Xbox One & Playstation 4 – targeted at a 2014 release date. Straying from the traditional single player formula, TESO looks like it could be the next World Of Warcraft. Question remains, can they keep the integrity of what makes the TES games so great and transfer that into an MMO? I say yes.

Released at E3 was a gameplay trailer, which you can view after the jump!Read More

Fuse | Review

Posted on June 5, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Version Tested: Xbox 360

Let’s face it, Insominac Games is a pretty big name in the gaming world. Series like Resistance and Ratchet & Clank are proof that Insomniac Games knows what they are doing. So, does their newest title, Fuse, the first game published by EA and developed for not only Sony’s PlayStation 3, but Microsoft’s Xbox 360, keep Insomniac’s tradition of quality titles running? Read More

Fable Anniversary Announced For Holiday Season 2013

Posted on June 4, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Probably one of my favorite Microsoft exclusive franchises ever is Fable. I know that many fans of the original game weren’t as pleased with the two sequels, a Kinect game, and Peter Molyneux’s “promises”. Regardless of that, the first Fable is a classic…a Halo in it’s own right. Nothing pleases me more to report that Lionhead Studios and Microsoft have finally decided to re-release it in HD on the Xbox 360 this winter.

This new re-release, titled Fable Anniversary, will feature overhauled graphics, achievements (yay!), an all new interface, “near” instant loading times, a new save system, and even leaderboards to track who is the chicken kicking king (or queen).

In addition it will also come with the Lost Chapters DLC (which is a big plus…and really, why wouldn’t they?) and it even has Smartglass support. Now word on what kind of support, but a mini-map would be freaking awesome.

Lead Designer Ted Timmins had this to say about Fable Anniversary:

“We’re really excited to bring ‘Fable’ to Xbox 360. It’s the game that the ‘Fable’ community has been asking for, so we wanted to make sure ‘Fable Anniversary’ delivered the definitive ‘Fable’ experience for both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise.”

This has got to be one of the best years in gaming so far, I can wait to see what E3 brings and I can’t wait for this Holiday season to get here!

Ready For A Beginners Lesson On BandFuse: Rock Legends?

Posted on June 3, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Everyone has got to start somewhere. My personal favorite Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) and guys like Slash, Dave Grohl, and Kirk Hammett all had to start somewhere. How? By picking up a guitar for the first time. Me, I’m a novice guitarist – I know the basics, but really haven’t tried to dedicate myself to taking it to the next level.

BandFuse: Rock Legends caters to all: newcomers, beginners, and experts. Branching off from what Rock Band started, Bandfuse is taking the same route that Rocksmith did but it seems to me this game will be a lot easier to learn from.

Today, Developer Realta Entertainment Group has released a couple new videos for the beginners audience showing of some techniques and the Minor Pentatonic Scale, which you can see after the jumpRead More

New Hellraid Images Are…Grotesque

Posted on May 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Techland announced a little over a month ago a new IP called Hellraid. It’s basically Dead Island meets a dark fantasy setting. Hellraid is a first person hack-n-slash game that can be played cooperatively with up to three different friends. You can play as four different classes including a Warrior, Mage, Paladin, & a Rogue – so there are plenty of characters for all different play styles.

If you happened to miss the first gameplay trailer of Hellraid, be sure to check here. Otherwise, continue reading after the jump for some gory new screenshots!Read More
