New Pikachu 3DS XL Launches March 24th

Nintendo officially announced today that there will be another member to the 3DS XL family in two weeks. Pokémon fans will get a jolt of excitement when Nintendo releases the Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL on March 24th.

The bold yellow Nintendo 3DS XL hardware features the familiar outline of the iconic Pokémon. The system will also come packaged with a 4GB SD memory card and will be available for a limited time (while supplies last). The system will retail for $199.99.

Ubisoft Reveals Call of Juarez Gunslinger

Today Ubisoft revealed the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming western action title Call of Juarez Gunslinger. The game looks to be a action packed shooter

March 14th Nintendo Download

Quite a few things released today, including full game downloads for the Wii U and 3DS, plus some virtual console titles and even two DSiWare games! Right off the bat we’re just a few days away from the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which will be available day and date in both retail stores and through the eShop. Fire Emblem Gets More Content this Spring

Nintendo has just announced that Fire Emblem: Awakening, which was released on February 4th for the Nintendo 3DS, is getting more bonus content.

The new SpotPass content is different from the previously released downloadable content through the game’s Outrealm Gate. This free SpotPass map, which will be available on March 14th, is called “A Hard Miracle,” and follows the story of Fire Emblem Awakening main character Chrom as he encounters a mysterious woman and sets off on a journey with her to rescue a group of kidnapped villagers.

During the next few weeks, more maps will become available through SpotPass. These include Ghost of a Blade on March 28th, a haunted tale about a ghost and the ultimate sacrifice; The Wellspring of Truth on April 11th, a map full of challenging enemies; and The Radiant Hero on April 25th, which takes place on an isolated island as Chrom and his allies search for a legendary hero.Read More

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available from April 23 in North America and across Europe on April 26.

Quite a few things released today, most of which is heavily centred on the 3DS, including three new eShop titles in Kersploosh!, ATV Wild Ride 3D and Nano Assault EX. Plus several full game downloads were released including Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D while Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity gets a demo.

The lot is rounded out with both a 3DS an a Wii Virtual Console release as well as Nintendo’s Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword at a special sale price.

Lost Planet Release Date Confirmed

Capcom announced today that they have firmed up the release date for the next game in the Lost Planet series across North America on June 25th. Coupled with the release date announcement is a brand new trailer for the game as well as a ton of new photos (links to those below).

The trailer continues the story of Jim Peyton’s time on E.D.N. III as a NEVEC employee seeking out further sources of the planet’s energy supply T-Eng. During one of these missions, Jim comes under attack from E.D.N. III’s indigenous Akrid, causing his Utility Rig to fall down an icy fissure, leaving him unconscious and injured. Jim wakes to find himself in what appears to be a secret base, hidden beneath the planet’s frozen surface. On discovering he was rescued by one of the base’s inhabitants, Mira, the daughter of Snow Pirate leader, So’ichi, Jim realizes that NEVEC are not the only human inhabitants of E.D.N. III.

Assassin’s Creed IV Trailer Revealed

Ubisoft revealed the first official trailer for their upcoming game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag early this morning. The trailer is very much a teaser that features a pirate captain describing the main character of the game.

The year is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established their own lawless Republic. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag introduces Edward Kenway, a brash rebel Pirate Assassin. His fight for glory has earned him the respect of legends like Blackbeard, but also drawn him into the ancient war between Assassins and Templars, a war that may destroy everything the pirates have built. Tecmo Koei Canada Shuttering Studio in Toronto

According to an article in the Financial Post, Tecmo Koei Canada Inc. will be closing their Toronto studio at the end of March. The studio is responsible for locally produced mobile games such as Samurai Cats and My Monster Rancher.

Tecmo Koei also produced Fatal Inertia for Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as the Warriors Orochi games for PSP.Read More
