Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate DLC Coming in April

Capcom today confirmed that following the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Nintendo Wii U on March 19, a software update will be released a month later in April. The announcement comes in response to community feedback.

The software update will add online cross-region functionality, allowing North American and European gamers to play together online in up to four-player battles. Monster Hunters will also be able to play the game using just the Wii U GamePad without the need for a TV screen as the software update makes the title compatible with off-TV play. Capcom will be continuing to support Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for several months after release with additional free of charge downloadable quests. Capcom’s Remember Me gets Release Date

Capcom confirmed today that their upcoming title Remember Me will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 4th.

Remember Me is a 3rd person action adventure where players take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even alter their memories. The authorities, fearful of her knowledge and capabilities have arrested Nilin and wiped her memory clean. After her escape from prison, Nilin sets out on a mission to recover her identity, helped by her last and only friend. This search for her past leads to her being hunted by the very people that created this surveillance society. During the course of the story, Nilin will start remembering who she was and re-learning all the fighting moves that made her one of the world’s leading memory hunters.Read More

February 14th Nintendo Download

Almost an overlooked release day as Nintendo shed a lot of light, and showed a lot of footage, on new games and updated information this morning via Nintendo Direct. But today is Thursday which means new gaming goodies from the Big N. Today Nintendo has released a new ap for Wii U, a demo and a few retail downloads for the 3DS, a new DSiWare title and another virtual console arcade fighter from SNK. Check them all out below.

Nintendo Direct Details – Year of Luigi

Nintendo detailed a huge list of upcoming games this morning at another Nintendo Direct presentation, with a focus on Luigi and several games featuring everyone’s favourite brother.

Nintendo has named 2013 the “Year of Luigi,” thanks to the numerous appearances that Mario’s timid, green-clad twin brother will be making in games this year. Nintendo provided details about games on the way that feature Luigi, as well as information about more than two dozen upcoming games, including content for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS across packaged and digital formats.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon to have DLC on Launch

Nintendo announced on Thursday that when the latest Pokémon title is release on March 24th that the game will have downloadable content ready for purchase on a regular basis. The downloadable content includes new Mystery Dungeons to explore, new items to collect and new Pokémon to interact with.

As a special treat for fans, the first piece of downloadable content, the Poké Forest Mystery Dungeon, will be free to download from launch day until April 30th. Three additional downloadable Mystery Dungeons will be available to purchase when the game launches, and additional content will launch regularly throughout April.Read More

February 7th Nintendo Download

The Wii U gets a new game this week with the release of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 while the Nintendo 3DS sees Mega Man II arrive on the Virtual Console. The latter also sees a slew of full game downloads with four full games, including the new Brain Training game from Nintendo. Also for those RPG fans out there (ahem Les) you can download a demo of Atlus’ new release Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan! Finally Circle’s latest game Ah! Heaven also arrives on DSiWare this week.

J.J. Abrams Plans Half-Life and Portal Movies

Director J.J. Abrams, who is wrapping up the new Star Trek movie and will be working on a new Star Wars movie after that has two video game projects in his sights.

The producer-director plans to work closely with Valve to adapt the games Half-Life and Portal into films. Abrams made the announcement to a gathering of videogame creators at the D.I.C.E. Conference in Las Vegas.Read More

Ubisoft and McFarlane Partner for Assassin’s Creed Toys

McFarlane Toys in partnership with Ubisoft announced today a licensing agreement to bring toys based on the Assassin’s Creed series to store shelves.

McFarlane Toys’ Assassin’s Creed series 1 will consist of seven figures including the characters of Connor and Haytham Kenway. Connor will come as two action figures – one in his Assassin’s Creed® III traditional Assassins garb and the second, as Ratonhnhaké:ton in the upcoming “Tyranny of King George” storyline. Each figure will be sculpted in the hyper-detail the award-winning McFarlane is known for with collectors and fans.Read More

January 31st Nintendo Download

Lots of goodness this week with all four Nintendo pillars getting something. The Cave, which was released last week, will be let loose as a demo this week. Three 3DS games are released as full game downloads an there are virtual console releases for both the Wii and 3DS. And 99Moves, which we previewed earlier in the week, is also now available on DSiWare.

GTA V Delayed until September

Rockstar Games put up a small announcement on their website this morning to share with their fans that upcoming game Grand Theft Auto V, which is their hugely anticipated title, will not be released in the spring as they had originally announced. The game will be pushed back four months and will not hit store shelves on September 17th, 2013.

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you,” the letter wrote. “GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”Read More

Nintendo Forecasting a Year-End Loss

Nintendo has sold just over three million Wii U systems worldwide between the system’s launch in November and the end of December. 1.3 million of those systems sold were sold in North America.

The sales, while great, are off from initial forcasted expectations where the company had looked to sell 5.5 million consoles worldwide before the end of March. That forcast has been shifted to four million systems.

Nintendo is blaming softer demand for older systems, including the original Wii.Read More

Sega Girls! New DLC for PS Vita

Sega fan website SGCafe has put up some screen capture from a recent livestream which detailed a new card pack for PS Vita “free-to-play” title Samurai & Dragons.

The first “Segakko 13” pack will contain personified images based on Sega’s home consoles. All thirteen such consoles are represented and artist Kei has turned all of the consoles into ‘anime girls.’Read More
