Miitopia demo now available, full game hits 3DS July 28th

Posted on June 15, 2017 by Jason Nason

When it was first unveiled in Japan I was hoping that Nintendo’s latest vehicle for the Miis would make its way stateside and now we have more information, a release date, and even a demo for the upcoming Nintendo RPG.

In the game you will journey with Mii characters based on your friends and favorite people and save Miitopia! Assign jobs, manage their friendships, and embark on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord and restore the stolen faces of the people. Mii characters mingle over food, camping, exercise, sleeping arrangements and, yes, combat! In these wild, yet traditional RPG battles, your party’s relationships affect the outcome. For more customization options, tap compatible amiibo figures: some yield in-game Mii costumes, and let you dress like Mario in your adventure!

Features:

  • Embark on your own personalized journey with Mii characters based on your friends and favorite people.
  • Guide a team of Mii characters on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord and restore the stolen faces of the people of Miitopia!
  • Manage Mii friendships to increase their might in traditional turn-based battles.
  • As your Mii characters interact, watch their hilarious scenes unfold.
  • Assign your Mii allies jobs with specific abilities, stats, gear, and custom looks.
  • Cast Mii characters in roles across the world of Miitopia.
  • Use the SpotPass functionality to connect to Mii Central to download Mii characters created by other players to fill in your world.
  • Tap compatible amiibo figures* to unlock special outfits.

Nintendo demoed the game during E3 in their Treehouse LIVE segment, which you can see over on their YouTube channel. You can download the demo in the eShop right now. Your saved data from the demo will carry over into the full game as well.

Miitopia will be released on the Nintendo 3DS on July 28th.

A brand-new classic Metroid adventure returns, rebuilt from the ground up and it’s headed to the Nintendo 3DS.

In Metroid: Samus Returns, you’ll brave the hostile terrain of an alien planet teeming with vicious life forms as legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran. Her mission? Terminate the Metroid menace in this masterful reimagining of her 1991 Game Boy adventure. Samus Aran’s arsenal has been enhanced with new moves and abilities that are sure to help her face the deadly surprises that await. This intense, side-scrolling action platformer is a great entry point into the Metroid franchise and perfect for returning fans as well.

E3 Attendance Tops 68,400 ESA Announces

Posted on June 15, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

E3 attracted more than 68,400 attendees including everyone from developers, media, executives, hardware manufacturers, console makers, media and for the first time the general public as well. In a press release issued as the show floor came to a close the ESA (the industry regulatory body that runs trade shows like E3, as well as the ESRB) noted that over 2,000 products were demonstrated with over 120 exhibitors displaying VR specific products or games.

Speaking about the success of this year’s show, President of the ESA – Michael D. Gallagher was quoted as saying:

“E3 2017 was a huge success. The advancements in technology unveiled at E3 will redefine and drive worldwide growth of the most meaningful form of entertainment on the planet,”

Major announcements at this year’s conference included the reveal of Microsoft’s Xbox One X console, Nintendo announcing not one but two new Metroid games and Sony showcasing their Fall 2017 / Spring 2018 software line-up. Perhaps the most emotional moment of E3 2017 came during Ubisoft’s press conference when Michel Ancel finally got to show the world Beyond Good & Evil 2, which had been presumed to be in development hell since it’s original May 2008 reveal.

For those of us who didn’t attend the show several companies including Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix and others hosted hours upon hours of live content. Demos, interviews, and analysis were widely available and the ESA noted that 5.5 million hours of content were streamed from Twitch alone this year!

E3 2018 will take place between June 12th and 14th of next year.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown E3 2017 Screenshots and Trailer Released

Posted on June 15, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

E3 is coming to a close today but there is still tons of screenshots, trailers and news to go through. Namco Bandai reminds all of us that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is coming to both PlayStation 4, PSVR and PC in 2018 with the release of a brand new trailer and a series of screenshots. This latest trailer gives us a lot more background into the story of Skies Unknown – with one of the military powers in the world of Ace Combat occupying the International Space Elevator the world is plunged into chaos and military conflict.  The newly released screenshots give us a look inside one of the game’s hangers, a close-up view of an  F-14 and several select screengrabs from the trailer itself.

There is still no confirmed release date for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.

Youtuber PS360HD got a 10 minute direct-feed gameplay capture from this year’s E3 conference if you’d like to see how Ace Combat 7 Plays:
