Teyon bringing Unholy Heights to PS4

Posted on September 9, 2016 by Jason Nason

The awarding winning unique mashup of Tower Defence and Demon monster apartment management, Unholy Heights, is being brought to the PlayStation 4 by Teyon next week.

In the game you adopt the role of the Devil, who creates an apartment for monsters to defend against pillaging wannabe heroes! In this interesting Tower Defence game you sucker monsters to live in your apartment building by buying them furniture according to their needs. Once they are in your apartment, have them breed stronger offspring, charge them rent or KICK THEM OUT!

Your army is the only thing in the way of you and the sickeningly sweet good folk who try and erase the monsters presence.

Nintendo launching Kirby x Miitomo Retweet event and items

Posted on September 9, 2016 by Jason Nason

On September 15th Miitomo is going to get a little pink. And round.

Nintendo is launching Kirby inspired items in the mobile app, and it kicks off with a retweet event. There will be no shortage of Kirby-themed items for your Mii character to wear so you can show off that Kirby flair!

All Miitomo users will receive a KIRBY CAFÉ logo tee for their Mii character to wear if enough the retweet target of 20,000 retweets is reached. And since this is a global event, retweets from all three main Nintendo twitter accounts will count towards the goal. The tweets are the ones that contain the hashtag #Miitomo_Kirby_RT. They’re embedded below.

Within an hour of the tweets, they were retweeted nearly 3,000 times. The retweet period runs until September 12th, 2016 at 10:00 PM ET.

IMPRESSIONS: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice

Posted on September 9, 2016 by Jason Nason

I’ve always like Ace Attorney series, though I haven’t had the chance to play much of the series. It’s one of those fondnesses that happens from afar. I’ve played some here and there, but have always enjoyed what I’ve played.

The latest game in the series Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice arrived for the Nintendo 3DS yesterday, exclusively in the eShop. While I haven’t had a chance to play the full game yet, I did play through the demo.

It’s time to embark on a legal adventure in the new came with co-stars Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice.

Indie title Warcube was part of the PAX Rising selection at PAX West.

Our own Renee Gittin’s “Potions: A Curious Tale” was playable on the show-floor :D!

3

Cards Against Humanity had a very creative store front at the entrance to this year’s con.

4

It included a hallway that lead to a store where you could buy the subversive card game. Perhaps it was a picture taking opportunity for some.

5

Star Trek: Bridge Commander was one of the surprise hits of this past weekend’s convention. Sadly it filled up so quickly that it was by appointment only.

6

ARK: Survival Evolved’s T-REX is no stranger to the convention scene, we saw it last @ PAX East.

8

Indie title Fox Hole: Persistent Warfare was playable on the show floor.

10

RIPTIDE: Renegade GP devs showing off the latest build of their game.

12

Gunvolt 2 was fully playable on this large television thanks to a special developer only 3DS unit.

13

Friends of the site, the crew behind Star Mazer DSP had a booth at the show on the sixth floor indie scene.

14

The Behemoth had an entire arcade of playable titles from both past and present at PAX West for attendees to try.

15

Capcom’s Street Fighter V is no stranger to the convention scene, the game had several demo stations lining Capcom’s booth.

16

Futuristic racer DISTANCE had this trippy but small booth as part of the PAX Rising selection at PAX West.

17

Harmonix’s green room for the 4 person bands @ PAX West was absolutely rockin’!

18

Dawn of War III was finally playable @ PAX West, unlike it’s Demo Theater showing at E3.

19

WETA Workshop’s booth was full of creative wonders.

20

The Rooster Teeth booth had a lot to offer fans of RWBY, Red Vs Blue and the site’s other properties.

21

World of Warcraft: Legion Dominated Blizzard’s booth, allowing fans to try out the recently released limited time “Broken Shores” in-game event.

22

Fans try out the R.W.B.Y game, recently released on Steam, at the Rooster Teeth booth.
