Marvel Vs Capcom 4 Rumors Heat Up Ahead of PlayStation Experience

Posted on November 27, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Are you ready to be TAKEN FOR A RIDE? Rumours are circulating on the popular video game forum NeoGaf that Capcom and Sony may have entered into an exclusivity for another fighting game. The heroes & villains of Marvel Entertainment might be preparing to face off against Capcom’s large roster of characters in Marvel Vs Capcom 4– if this rumour is true.

A set of three images appeared thanks to a user named Ryce who claims that they are part of a reveal at the PlayStation Experience set to take place in California next weekend from Dec 3rd through 4th.

Here are the teaser images that Ryce posted:

26_marvel01 26_marvel02 26_marvel03

These screen-grabs are supposedly from either a teaser trailer or a set of teaser images created to promote the upcoming fighter. Does the artwork on display remind you of anything? Almost all of it is taken from previous promotional art or trailers for both Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 or the 2001 classic Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Aside from the re-use of iconic artwork the only new element in these screen-grabs is the “4” – signifying the fourth major title in the franchise.

Long time Fighting Game Community member and content creator Maximillian Dood, who has had official partnerships with Capcom, created a rather lengthy video giving his opinion on the whole thing. Max doesn’t feel that the “4” images (reprocessed above) are not legitimate and that the proportions of the image are out of wack.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and digital copies of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 / Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 were pulled from the PlayStation Network nearly two years ago, in mid December 2013. Users who already purchased MVC2 are still able to download copies onto their systems but prior to it’s 2009 re-release on PSN it was locked to the Xbox (original) and PlayStation 2 / Dreamcast.

What do you think about the possibility of MVC4 coming to PS4?

Extended FF7 Remake Trailer Shows Game’s Revamped Combat System

Posted on December 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

At the opening press conference from the PlayStation Experience Square Enix gave fans another taste of the still undated Final Fantasy 7 remake for the PlayStation 4.

In this brand new gameplay trailer we get a brief look at the game’s combat system, which from the small glimpse we’ve been given looks to borrow a lot from Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts. Gone is the overhead “world map” and transition screens that launch players into battle. In their place is a more streamlined action-RPG approach with real-time combat, abilities mapped to single buttons on the controller, and enemies appearing within the world.

Considering both of the above mentioned games are currently in development it wouldn’t be much of stretch to assume that the different development teams at Square Enix are sharing technologies to expedite progress.

Some fans have expected that Square Enix may release the Final Fantasy 7 remake sometime in 2017 to line-up with the original PlayStation game’s 20th anniversary.

What do you think of the trailer? Check it out below.

Capcom Unleashes a Combo of Street Fighter V Media For PSX

Posted on December 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

It wouldn’t be time for the PlayStation Experience without a brand new character reveal & trailer from Capcom’s Street Fighter V. Unveiled during this weekend’s expo F.A.N.G – a slender and tall man in an oversized robe and hat. If you think his look is absolutely out of the norm for the series his move set might interest, you even more – he specializes in the use of counters and misdirection.  He also has several moves that can afflict damage over time (DOT) effects to his opponents as long as he hasn’t taken any damage him.

Remember a few months back when it was teased that a series of mystery characters would be coming to Street Fighter V as downloadable content? At the time all we were given was a brief sillouette shot of these characters but we now know the initial roster of post-launch characters will include the follow:

  • Balrog
  • Guile
  • Ibuki
  • Juri,
  • Urien
The mystery characters as teased this past October.

Check out F.A.N.G’s reveal trailer and debut screenshots in the media gallery below. If you pre-order Street Fighter V on Windows PC or PlayStation 4 you can get access to any additional betas that Capcom may run between now and the game’s Feb 16th 2016 release date.
