UK Sales Charts For The Week of Jan 2nd Dominated By Black Ops III

Posted on January 4, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Black Ops III

Our first games sales numbers to include the post holiday discount period have arrived thanks to the weekly UK software charts. Not surprising several AAA franchise compose the top ten including EA’s Star Wars Battlefront, Activision’s Call of Duty and Bethesda softwork’s Fallout 4.

What is a little surprising is to see Just Cause 3 crack into the top ten – currently occupying the 8th place. Considering that game was released so late in the pre-holiday season (early December) it is encouraging to see it ahead of Forza Motorsport 6 and just behind the latest Assassin’s Creed.

Here are top ten titles from the UK for the week ending Jan 2nd:

Rumor: GTA V Online To Feature Microtransactions

Posted on September 23, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

By exploiting a glitch that allows players to access the store section of Grand Theft Auto V players have gained access to some files stored on RockStar’s servers.

These files include a text dump for an item called the  “Red Shark Cash Card”. Valued at $100,000 in-game currency, this virtual stack of cash is good across all of Los Santos! Other users have found a single image (pictured at the end of this article) that hints at a similar “$100,000 Maze Bank” card.

What do you think about the possibility of microtransactions being included in Grand Theft Auto Online? The online componet of GTA V isn’t live just yet but will be available early next month! Featuring up to 16 players, GTA Online allows you to explore the entire map, all the while taking part in competatyive matches, create crews similar to those featured in Max Payne 3 and other activities.

Surely we will find out more about Grand Theft Auto V on October 1st, get ready!

Rockstar Opens the Airwaves and Details GTA V Radio Stations

Posted on August 30, 2013 by Jason Nason

After yesterday’s release of the Grand Theft Auto V official trailer, Rockstar Games released a preview of the radio stations and music that will be found within the game when it is released in just a few weeks.

The song heard in the trailer was also revealed after the company had a lot of requests for the track title. That song is called “Sleepwalking” from electronic band The Chain Gang of 1974. The track is embedded on Rockstar’s website.

Designed to encompass the breadth of the modern L.A. music scene, GTAV’s soundtrack features 15 music stations, two stations of talk radio and 240 licensed songs. Genres covered in the game ranger from unforgettable classic hip-hop with long-time Rockstar collaborator DJ Pooh, to the underground Mexican sounds of East LOS FM and the modern beatmaker scene courtesy of FlyLo FM, with new and exclusive tracks from both Flying Lotus and self-confessed GTA fan Tyler the Creator.

GTA V’s Brief Appearance on PSN Leads To Leak of Soundtrack

Posted on August 25, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

RockStar’s next open world crime game, Grand Theft Auto V, appeared on the European PlayStation network as in an unplayable pre-load state for those who have digitally purchased the title. This practice is not new, digital only services like Steam have been offering pre-load as an option for years, allowing gamers to jump right in when a title releases at midnight.

Gamer’s eagerly started sifting through the digital pre-load files and have dug up a few interesting things.  They’ve identified six different radio stations – Non-Stop Pop FM, SoundWax FM, Radio Los Santos, Punk Station, Classic Rock, West Coast Classics and a mishmash list of songs simply presented under the header ‘unknown’.  You can probably place a safe bet on the fact that this is not a definitive list of stations, absence of a talk station aside, as ‘Punk Station’ isn’t exactly witty enough to be included a GTA Game. We also have no clue what the songs under the ‘unknown’ label will fit in, if they are even present in the final build of GTA V.Read More

Posted on August 15, 2013 by Jason Nason

Rockstar Games took the cover off the online mode for Grand Theft Auto V this morning, including a demo video detailing some of the finer points of the features. Take a look at the rundown below as well as the video release.

Grand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but will continue to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community. Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

What Does A Rich Guy, Gangster, & A Redneck Have In Common…?

Posted on April 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

They are all of the main protagonist’s you will play in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto, of course! I’m willing to bet that many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and I have to say that I’m including in the general consensus of that as well. Every time Rockstar announces another GTA game, I think about what could really do to make the next installment even better? Turns out Rockstar always has an answer to that question.

This time Rockstar will place you in the lives of not one, not two, but three main protagonists. There have been multi-character stories before in games, but never in a GTA game. It should be very interesting to see how all three of these guys eventually weave together in the web that Rockstar is spinning. Just hopefully it will be well balanced and not jump around all over the place.

Today, Rockstar released a trailer that give a little bit of background on each of the protagonists and it looks like Grand Theft Auto V will continue the trend of amazing games in the GTA franchise. To see the trailer, keep reading after the break.Read More

GTA V Delayed until September

Posted on January 31, 2013 by Jason Nason

Rockstar Games put up a small announcement on their website this morning to share with their fans that upcoming game Grand Theft Auto V, which is their hugely anticipated title, will not be released in the spring as they had originally announced. The game will be pushed back four months and will not hit store shelves on September 17th, 2013.

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you,” the letter wrote. “GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”Read More

The trailer opens with shots of the opulent neighborhood that Michael, one of the series’ three protagonists, lives in – and from there it’s simply a whirlwind of clips and shots, giving you an idea of just what kind of a ride you’re in for.  Here are some bulleted observations:Read More

Game Informer’s GTA V Impressions Video

Posted on November 13, 2012 by Jesse Lord

I’m almost drooling as I contemplate the fact that a new GTA V video is coming out in less than twenty-four hours!  I can’t stand it.  While I’m sitting over here trying to calm myself down, why don’t you all go ahead and check out this almost-half-hour video where Game Informer reps that got to see GTA V in action talk through their impressions.

[youtube id=”2LwzlQ7vZLQ” width=”600″ height=”338″]

And keep your eyes peeled for the new trailer, set to debut tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM EST.  It’s going to be a good day.
