Overwatch’s next new map for both competitive and quick play will take Blizzard’s heroes to the moon with the upcoming addition of the Horizon Lunar Colony. This new map, lore wise, gives us a sense of where the game’s giant ape Winston grew up and the circumstances surrounding his past and an ape uprising on the moon. Xbox Game Pass Takes On PlayStation Now To Become The Netflix of Gaming

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Games Pass, its’ monthly subscription based games library service will launch today for Xbox Live Gold Members and will be available to the general Xbox Live population regardless of subscription status on June 1st. Xbox Games Pass is the company’s attempt to compete with Sony’s PlayStation Now Service which offers PS4 owners a digital library of streaming titles to their PS4 and PC for a fixed monthly price. Sonic Forces Allows Players To Make Their Own Character

SEGA announced today that they will be making every early 2000s Sonic fan’s dream come true by allowing the creation of custom characters who will fight alongside the blue blur in the upcoming Sonic Forces.  These new characters will use a “third gameplay style” which combines the behind the camera fast paced motion of Modern Sonic with the 2D gameplay of Classic Sonic and the added twist of equipable gadgets. New Xbox ‘Project Scorpio’ Details Revealed

The first confirmed details for Xbox’s’ next iterative console, codenamed Scoprio, since its surprise E3 2016 reveal have surfaced. As expected, the fine reporters at Digital Foundry took a trip to Redmond and got a first-hand look under the hood of Microsoft’s upcoming console powerhouse. Saber Interactive announces ‘NBA Playgrounds’ for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC

Developed by Saber Interactive, NBA Playgrounds is a new, high-flying, arcade-style basketball game. This classic 2-on-2 action experience will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC (Steam) as a digital-only release in May 2017. Destiny 2 Leaks Point To A Likely PC Release

It is no secret that Bungie & Activision are hard at work on a sequel to 2014’s Destiny, the loot-based shooter that launched 3 additional content heavy expansions that when combined with the base game have kept guardians busy for years. A set of new leaks, one comprised of promotional materials from an Italian retailer, and another from a shop listed from a German retailer point to Destiny 2 coming to Windows PC for the first time. Get an inside look at the thought processes, early concepts and internal deliberations that took place in early 204 when Capcom Osaka decided to revitalize their long stagnant undead franchise. Featuring narration from Executive Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda and Director Masachika Kawata, this behind the scenes look at Capcom Osaka’s development process exposes some of ideas that lead to the successful revival of RE earlier this year. Masachika Kawata sought to create a game inspired by the horror comedy classic Sami Rami’s ‘Evil Dead’ for Resident Evil’s more compact Baker Estate while returning to some of the elements introduced in the first RE title.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War Gets 16 Minute Gameplay Trailer

Warner Bros Interactive released a 16-minute video showcasing a vertical slice of the upcoming Middle Earth: Shadow of War. In this demonstration we get a look at the enhanced nemesis system, the use of spies, rideable mounts and so much more. Usually the gameplay reveals for major AAA titles leave something to be desired but this small section of Shadow of War’s campaign, several hours in, gives viewers a lot to chew on. Xbox One’s Snap Mode Is No More

Microsoft’s Xbox One console will lose its once touted Snap feature in the next major dashboard update in order to streamline performance. Snap allowed users to use a minimalized version of apps such as a live television guide while watching TV, bring up internet explorer or bring up friend lists or other social functions. Explaining on twitter, Xbox honcho Mike Ybarra stated that this move will lead to overall system performance and speed by freeing up resources.
