Engine bringing original Gunslugs coming to 3DS

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

Engine Software announced today that they are bringing the original Gunslugs to the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

Last year Engine Software published the chaotic, frantic and heavily stylized 2D shooter Gunslugs 2 on the 3DS eShop. The game, created by developer OrangePixel, was the sequel to Gunslugs. It hit the 3DS eShop last October.

Based on the community feedback for Gunslugs 2, the 3DS release of Gunslugs will feature leaderboards.

Gunslugs be released on the 3DS eShop in the next few weeks, though the exact release date has not been finalized. The game will cost $1.99 USD.

You can check out our review of Gunslugs 2 here.

Legendary Pokémon being distributed this month via Nintendo Network

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

I was surprised on Sunday morning. Knowing that I would have to venture to EB Games for this month’s Pokémon I popped in my copy of Pokémon X and went to the recieve gift option anyway. And to my surprise I got a gift.

Turns out thr Pokémon Company, in celebration of the debut of Pokemon the Series: XYZ, for a short time, you can get three powerful Legendary Pokémon from the Kalos region — Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde — via Nintendo Network!

Not only that, the Xerneas and Yveltal you’ll receive are Shiny, making them incredibly rare, especially for a Legendary Pokémon! These Pokémon are all Lv. 100, and know their signature attacks as well as other powerful moves.

May IndieBox Unwrapped – Galak-Z!

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Renee Gittins

This month’s IndieBox was a particularly exciting one for me, featuring Galak-Z, a critically acclaimed, action-packed dog-fighting game with a space ship that transforms into a sword-wielding mech! How cool is that?

Better yet, the box itself features a figurine of this awesome ship that you’ll use with both your stealth and fighting skills to take down intelligent enemies. Oh, and did I mention that there are TWO OTHER GAMES IN HERE? Starr Mazer DSP F. Squadron, a rogue-like scrolling shooter and prelude to the upcoming game Starr Mazer, and Planet Diver, a fast-spaced, space-chasm diving action game.

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Bethesda‘s Dishonored II will be dropping on November 11th 2016 according to an image that appeared on the German branch of the publisher’s website. It is unknown if this post was made live by mistake but no English version of the post has yet to appear. The full title of the game appears to be Dishonored 2: Legacy of the Mask” if this German post is accurate.

In part (according to google translate) the post reads:

“Take what belongs to you! Under the slogan starts on November 11th worldwide “Dishonored 2: The Legacy of the Mask”, the successor of Arkane Studios’ critically acclaimed first-person action game on PS4, Xbox One and PC.”

Dishonored II was originally revealed at E3 2015 by Arkane Studios, a re-mastered version of the original Dishonored was released on PS4 and Xbox One last Fall.

Dawn of War III Is Ready To Usher In A New Generation of Warfare

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

It’s an all-out blood bath in the cinematic debut trailer for 2017’s Dawn of War III. Lasting over 4 minutes in length this trailer showcases a brutal war between the Imperium (humans), Orks and the Eldar. Set for a 2017 release on Windows PC with develop duties being handled by long time Warhammer 40K RTS developer Relic Entertainment in collaboration with Games Workshop this latest Dawn of War title will hopefully satiate fan’s appetites – as they’ve been waiting since 2009 for more Dawn of War goodness.

The trailer ends with the haunting line “In the face of death, I shall have no remorse…”

Check out the debut trailer embedded below:

Overwatch’s beta gets a cinematic Trailer

Posted on May 3, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Overwatch may not have a dedicated story mode, but Blizzard is doing a good job telling its story through little vignettes and other lore material. Now with the open beta just one day away the masses have been given one more cinematic teaser, this time with a distinct recruitment feeling

It features the same character that was present in the last short Winston, who further explains the back story of the omnic crisis and the world of Overwatch, then implores you to return and “do something” to make a difference. The short then closes with “are you with me” and some pretty awesome cinematic footage of Overwatch itself. If you haven’t already decided to play the game, I encourage you to at lest get in to the beta for a short time, and give it a try.

I can honetly say that through both of the stress test weekends (I was not in the general beta) I had so much fun that my opinion of the game changed and I purchased it. So I emplore you to at least give the game a try and see if it feels like something you might enjoy. Join me in the beta, and lets go frag some newbs.
