Zombie Vikings: update and coming to Steam!

Posted on December 5, 2015 by Erika

Previously released on the Playstation 4 in September, indie game Zombie Vikings from Swedish developer Zoink Games is being released on Monday, December 7th for Steam. For those not familiar with the game it’s an entertaining adventure of up to four undead Vikings on a quest though Norse soil to retrieve Odin’s lost eye. With the Steam release coming around the corner, also comes a major update for the game, which will also be available for the PS4 later in the month. Among the updates are-

  • A unicorn pig named Oink for Single Player, which not only will accompany your viking, but also has the ability to carry items on it’s back and eventually strap a cannon onto it!
  • New Enemies
  • A weapon progression system where the player can unlock weapons by completing levels
  • Weapon improvements across the board, including special abilities for every weapon and stats in the store
  • Combat improvements including target hints, better damage stat tracking, mini health bars for enemies, and directly rolling

In addition to that, the Steam release will be including Steam Cloud Saving, and Steam Trading Cards.

The Steam version releases on December 7th at 7:00AM PST and includes the update for $19.99USD with a 20% launch discount for the first week, so if you’ve been wanting to get it, now’s the chance! In addition to that, a bundle containing DLC characters Frostbjörn and Raybjörn along with the game’s soundtrack will be available for $24.99USD.

Zombie Vikings will be available for purchase on Steam and is currently out for the Playstation 4

Total War: WARHAMMER – Gameplay Walkthrough – Greenskins Campaign

Posted on December 5, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

The Total War youtube page has posted 17 minutes of brand new game play footage from their upcoming game Total War: WARHAMMER.

[youtube id=vJUWImJUZrU]

help I fell in love.  I am an admitted Warhammer Fan girl,  I have loved almost all of GWI’s games, and SEGA seems to be doing a great job with the licesne. Im currently playing through Warhammer End times: Vermintide, and absolutly loving the level of detail thats been put in to the environment, characters and just the whole game package. So far this game looks as good if not better than any other Games Workshop based game I have seen to date.

The video shows off in beautiful detail the over world map, featuring how much character the map has. We get to see an auto-resolved battle over a dwarf stronghold after with the stronghold get ORKY. The whole look of the structures change, and it gets Ork banners, and pointy spikes and all sort of other things!

We also get a peek at the Ork building tree, its pretty basic, but we can see what major units Orks will have and also see some new units, and how unit upgrades work, as well as hero units. There is no actaul arms based game play int he 16 minutes of video, buts a lot of dumped content to see in that time, plenty of eye-candy visuals, lots of game play mechanics and a good overview of how the whole world level battling works. its worth the 16 minutes of watch.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered Coming to PS4 in March 2016, Full Throttle Remastered Confirmed for Later

Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Last night on stage, Tim Shafer announced that Day of the Tentacle Remastered will be coming to PS4 next March. The game will feature an updated control scheme, as well as a new coat of paints to make the now well over 2 decade old game look the part. It has also been confirmed by studio Double Fine behind the scenes that they are also working on a remaster of Full Throttle, which will release at some point after Day of the Tentacle for PS4 and Vita.

I’m a bit too young to have much fondness for old fashioned point-and-clicks. I just about managed to catch the tail-end of Grim Fandango as the genre was dying out. Now, with Telltale’s work in putting the genre back on the map, albeit in a new form, it feels like more and more developers are also willing to try returning to the more traditional forms of this genre, with games like Dropsy doing very well for themselves. Day of the Tentacle is not the kind of game I’d install dosbox for, but I’d give a remaster a go. Let’s just hope this project does well, so we can finally see that Psychonauts 2 game that’s currently being funded on Fig.

(Oh, and play Dropsy if you haven’t yet. Seriously, I’m putting a link here cause that game is amazing.)

Witcher 4 already being planned

Posted on December 5, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

While the Witcher 3 saw the end of Geralt’s story, CDProjekt Reds CEO Adam Kicinski has said “it would not be fair to fans, to not make a Witcher 4” “It’s too early to talk about it, but it’s not like we’re forgetting about this brand,” he said on Polish TV station TVN24 BiS, as translated by Gamepressure. “It wouldn’t be fair towards the fans. We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don’t think it’s going to be the end of it.”

This should really surprise no one, as the Witcher series has been a huge success to the point that it basically funded the founding of a whole Game distribution platform. The witcher 3 was a huge sucess even winning best overall game of the year at the game awards. It also sold over 6 million copies, a number usually reserved for the yearly COD and Battlefield releases.  The developer had previously stated that Geralt (the main character from the first three games) was finished with his saga after The Witcher 3, so I am already excited to see more of the world of the Witcher, with a new mail character.

I find this particularity interesting since just a few months ago CDProjekt Red was quite involved with saying nonononono we are not working on another Witcher game! I guess 6 million units sold changed their mind. in Augst we heard  “It deserves some rest,” from Marcin Iwiński co-founder of the studio “The world of The Witcher is gigantic and it’s great to tell these stories, but I don’t know when [a sequel] will happen.”, now it seems the tune has changed and I for one hope that we get to see that new game pretty quickly.

Cyber Punk 2077 Dev talks size and scope

Posted on December 5, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Cyber Punk 2077 is shrouded in mystery, but what we do know is its going to be huge, and that since its coming from CDProjekt red it wont be out before its ready.  CD Projekt Red joint CEO Adam Kicinski spoke to polish media and said the game is “even more ambitious” than what the developer originally had in mind.

cyberpunk-feat

“The project is even more ambitious than we first planned (…) we need to create a game that will be even more successful,” he said on Polish TV station TVN24 BiS, as translated by Gamepressure. “We have a long way ahead of us to reach the biggest commercial successes in the world.”  Kicinski went on to say that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a big success with 6 million copies sold against an $81 million budget. The game was a “good investment,” according to CD Projekt Red management. The studio has a history of best selling games and its no surprise that the Witcher 3 was another in their line of trophies, however Kicinski aslo said “Sure, many people consider The Witcher 3 to be the best game in the world this year, but this is not a game that broke any sales records”

We dont know much about the game, so far just a few images and short video have been shown so far. What we do know is that the game is cyberpunk set in a future with robots and has guns.  Reuters  reported earlier this year that  the devloper would not be working on Cyber Punk untill at least 2017 so its understandable that there are not lots of materials coming out yet. Keep your eyes peeled at E3 2016 for hopefully more great Cyberpunk action!
