Bungie Bringing Huge Changes To Destiny 2’s ‘Sandbox’ With March Update

Posted on February 1, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Today Bungie outlined exactly how they’ll be improving Destiny 2 over the next couple of months. In a brand new roadmap and feature breakdown the Destiny 2 outlined plans for update 1.1.3 (Feb), 1.1.4 (March) and 1.2.0 (May). Some additions are small but should have been present from the launch in my opinion – namely PC Public Chat, tweaks to the shader system and Heroic Strike Modifiers. Others like unique Nightfall Rewards, Quit penalties in the crucible and Iron Banner 6 v 6 will have a larger impact on Destiny 2’s playability. Perhaps the largest of all of these planned

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition Benchmark Released

Posted on February 1, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Square Enix has released an official benchmark for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition which will be released on March 6th. The 4GB benchmark is not a playable section of the game but rather a series of pre-configured demo scenes that take about six minutes to run. FFXV: Windows Edition’s benchmark allows users to try out three different quality settings – Lite, Medium and High and three resolutions – 720p, 1080p and 4k. Users of the benchmark have pointed out that it does not offer 1440p resolution support, a common resolution between 1080p and true 4k. Don’t

Posted on January 27, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Visually stunning, action focused M.O.B.A Paragon will cease operations on April 26th developer Epic Games announced in a statement to the remaining players within the Paragon Community yesterday.   The Paragon Team thanked all of the players who have stuck with the game and, in what is probably the most honest / direct statement I’ve seen from a AAA developer in a long time, admitted that their vision for Paragon wasn’t sustainable. Despite their best effort the Paragon Team ‘failed’ their player base and were sorry to see Paragon shut down.  Refunds for the Paragon Game (originally priced at $19.99 USD

Posted on January 19, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Nippon Ichi Software America has decided to delay the PC release of action RPG YS VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA until an indeterminate date while they work the specific game-engine bugs that are hampering performance.  In particular, testers reported during the second closed beta test on PC reported nasty issues like memory leaks and severe frame-drops under certain circumstances. These issue stem from core technical decisions with the game’s engine, which was originally designed for the PlayStation 4. NIS will now have to dig deep into guts of YS VIII and make changes that aid performance on PC. Here’s a breakdown

Final Fantasy XV’s System Requirements Aren’t For The Faint of Heart

Posted on January 16, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Final Fantasy XV is finally about to hit Windows PC this March after nearly a year and a half of PlayStation exclusivity. If you’re wondering about how finely tuned your gaming rig will have to be to render Noctis. Prompto, Ignis, Gladio and their sweet ride, the Regalia, you might want to sit down ft a moment. 16GBs of RAM, 6GB of video RAM and an AMD 8350 are required just to play the game in 1080p – which seems a bit excessive considering the PS4 achieves the same resolution at 30FPS with just 8GB of RAM and a much

The latest fighter to join the upcoming brawler Dragon Ball Fighter Z is none other than a permutation of Goku, the rose form of Dragon Ball Super’s Goku Black.  Namco released a brief trailer showing Goku Black using various Ki energy blade techniques including an energy scythe and an energy sword. Also included is a team-up attack with Shin that unleashes a devastating charged Ki ball.  Dragon Ball Fighter Z will be released on January 28th – just three weeks away – for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Best Games We Played 2017 Runner-Up: Destiny 2

Posted on January 4, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Destiny 2 was one of the most hyped games of this past fall, and with the amount of online advertisements and cross promotion it was must have been hard to not get caught up in the waves of hype (I got so excited for D2 I ended up playing it on both PlayStation 4 and PC). Now that the dust has settled and the hype surrounding Bungie’s follow-up online FPS effort has disapated – it is time to have a discussion about why Destiny 2 didn’t make it among our “Best Games We Played” finalists. The experience of levelling a

The Best Games We Played 2017: Nier Automata

Posted on January 1, 2018 by Meghan Kass

As 2017 comes to a close, it is a time to reflect on the year, both the good and the bad. While there were many downs and it can be easy to focus on the negatives in a year, especially one as rough as this, we need to remind ourselves of the positive things that came out in a year and how they affected us. There were so many great video games that came out this year that all deserved to be recognized, but one that really stuck out to me in many ways was Nier: Automata from Platinum Games

Posted on December 14, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

After nearly a year and a half of release, I figured that the days of Titanfall 2 updates were over but apparently not.
