Fallout 4: Survival in the Wasteland

Posted on November 23, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

If you’re having trouble making it in the Commonwealth of Fallout 4…

…you’re far from alone on that one. There’s a lot of people out there who are already kind of burned out on the game with the sheer amount of things you can do. It’s kind of overwhelming. I totally agree with you! That’s why I came up with a rather handy-dandy guide so you can get a leg up on the terrible atrocities of the Commonwealth so that way you can get the most out of your Fallout 4 experience.

Posted on November 23, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

The final video in the JUST CAUSE 3 Developer Diary series takes a look at the technology behind the game: the Avalanche Engine. Talking about the combination of mechanics the engine allows for, procedural destruction models and enemy AI behaviours, the final video is a fantastic insight into how the Avalanche Studios team has brought JUST CAUSE 3 to life.

“The ability to create a world of this density, complexity and size – that alone is something that makes the Avalanche Engine stand out.” said Linus Blomberg, CTO at Avalanche Studios.

Take a look at the full engine dev diary down below.

Rock Band 4 Continues to add more songs and content

Posted on November 23, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Live Life Like There’s No Tomorrow: Music from Van Halen Comes to Rock Band 4!

Harmonix is doing a good job supporting their newest rhythm product Rock Band 4. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends Van Halen is coming to the Rock Band Music Store for Xbox One and PlayStation  4 tomorrow, November 24! With more than 80 Million records sold Van Halen is no doubt one of the greatest Rock bands of all time. Their addition to the newest Rock Band game in the long running, much beloved series from Harmonix, was all but assured. Now you too can pretend to be Eddie Van Halen, or David Lee Roth, and get the feeling of being a rock star!

Since the end of the rhythm games era, Rock Band 4 and Guitar Hero Live have been the only remaining competitors. Rock Band has elected to stick with a simpler DLC model, while Guitar Hero has decided to opt for a less traditional model of creation of a TV like service where songs simply play and you play along with them.  Personally I really like the ability to get DLC that I want or do not want. The flip side of this is that DLC obviously costs money, but at least with the choices of DLC you can decide what you want to pay for and what you don’t.

The full “Van Halen Hits Pack 01” can be purchased for $9.99, with singles available for download for $1.99 a track.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli coming to PS4

Posted on November 23, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Guns Gore and Cannoli is a Metal Slug styled shooter with a story out of the Godfather and humor out of well something else, its a wise cracking fun action shooter.  Previously released for Xbox one, PC, and now its on its way to the PS4.

Buters can expect to  be ready for this 2D, fast-paced, humorous game which not only features a kick-ass campaign mode, but also 13 additional free skins and as a bonus: Versus mode, including 7 additional battle arenas.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli is actually TWO games for the price of one.  After you wiped the map clean during the campaign, you will be able to relive the joy in versus mode. Its not often that we see a game with this type of aesthetic with both a fully fledged campaign mode and a nice vs AI mode, AND a nice vs other people mode. Its refreshing to see a publisher making sure they put all of these in to a game before they release that game.

BLOOD and lots of it

You can play against your friends or AI opponents The developer makes note that  “this AI will be controlled by 21kb seemingly gibberish code that will blast you of the map. ” I have no idea what that means, but I assume that its meaning is that there are a lot of difficult AI that will try to kill you. The game will be releasing on PS4 on December 8th, and you can pick up a copy now on PC or Xbox One!

You can watch the publishers release video right here. its quite a doozie with a lot of blood, flying projectiles and witty on liners, if you like shooting stuff and watching it explode, in games like Bro-force and the Metal Slug series this will be right up your alley.
