Ragnarok Odyssey | Review

Posted on December 9, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Everyone has their own vices when it comes to video games. Whether it is killing civilians in Grand Theft Auto or enjoying social media games, there’s a guilty pleasure you don’t really talk much about. My guilty pleasure has been mob grinding dungeon crawlers filled with lots of loot and potential upgrades for my character. Sure, it is a JRPG sub-genre that doesn’t get a lot of attention, but that is why I was so excited to hear that Xseed was bringing Ragnarok Odyssey to the West. Unfortunately, I haven’t been this disappointed with a game in quite sometime.Read More

Suit Up For Spartan Ops’ Return This January

Posted on December 9, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Halo 4’s Spartan Ops mode adds to the game’s narrative via downloadable episodes and the next 5 episodes will be released starting  January 21st , Microsoft Announced on Friday. 343i isn’t following the COD formula of new DLC every few months. Instead, by the end of February all five remaining episodes  of season one for Spartan Ops will be available on Xbox Live.

We’ll see if Microsoft decides to release a second season of ops. Chances are this is a surefire thing, considering we do not know if a Halo title will be released in the Fall of 2013. Of course, there is the rumor that Microsoft is secretly planning a remake of Halo 2 to be unveiled at the next E3.

We will post the trailer for the next episode of Halo 4: Spartan Ops when it becomes available. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

Last of Us Release Date & New Trailer

Posted on December 9, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Last of Us wowed everyone with its surprise reveal at the 2011 Spike Videogame Awards. Since that reveal Naughty Dog was been awfully quiet about their plans for the title, outside of a brief 10 minute demo first shown to the press at E3 and then released to the general public earlier this fall. The good news for everyone wanting to experience the post apoclyptic tale of Joel & Elle is that they’ll be able to get their hands on the game on May 7th 2013.

This new trailer certainly sets the apocalyptic mood right off the hop with twitching zombies, barren urban environment and enough tension to make even the most relaxed person sit on the edge of their seat. It is clear that Joel’s teenage companion, Elle, plays a huge role in the story. While her significance is still a mystery to us I doubt that Naughty Dog would go with the cliché “child carrying the anti-virus in her blood” trope. Knowing them we are in for some great twists and turns.

Check out the trailer below.
