Shadow Of Mordor Sequel Announced Today – New Trailer

Posted on February 27, 2017 by Les Major

Shadow Of War Trailer 1

The rumors are true! Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the official title of Monolith Productions next game in the series. I LOVED Shadow of Mordor and it’s certainly a title worth checking out to this day. The sequel continues the storyline and really begs to question if we’ll follow the canon at all, or if this really is a wild new tale of Talion versus Sauron where anything can happen. The original seemed to take liberties, but it’s still great just getting to explore a new vision of Tolkien’s fantasy world.

Check out the trailer below! The game is on the way for August 22nd in North America!

LEGO Batman Builds Up The Lego Dimensions Collection Today

Posted on February 10, 2017 by Les Major

LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack

To coincide with the release of The LEGO Batman Movie hitting theaters today, fans can pick up the LEGO Batman Movie story pack for LEGO Dimensions! We absolutely loved the Fantastic Beasts story pack and if the previous content is any indication, this additional content is just getting better and better!

The LEGO Batman Movie story pack comes with a physical Batgirl and Robin minifig. You know, that cute lovable dorky Robin from the trailers? Not just that but you also get a Batcomputer setup to build for the LEGO Dimensions Portal as well! So it’s a replacement portal like the previous story packs included. Also included is a new 3 in 1 vehicle, the Batwing! It can also be rebuilt into The Black Thunder and the Bat-Tank.

Also like the previous packs you receive six all new levels AND an adventure world to explore. Plus of course there is a battle arena unlocked as well for multiplayer.

Released as well today was the Knight Rider LEGO set! It’s just a fun pack, but so was the A-Team set which contained an immersive adventure world is just full of content and references to the TV show. One of my favorites, the Gremlins team pack was also a wonderful experience from the classic movie to explore the adventure world of. So you can bet Knight Rider is going to be a trip you’ll want to buckle up for.

Fantastic Beasts Coming To Lego Dimensions This Month

Posted on November 10, 2016 by Les Major

Lego Fantastic Beasts Trailer

Releasing the same day as movie theaters bring viewers back into the Wizarding world that started in Harry Potter, Lego Dimensions is also getting swept up in the expanded universe adventure! The Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Story Pack will be available on November 18th. Story Packs are a new addition to this years Lego Dimensions line up. The first featured the 2016 Ghostbusters in a new six level adventure based on the movie. Fantastic Beasts follows suit with six levels based on the new movie, a free roam adventure world to explore, and a themed battle arena. These larger packs also include a replacement for the games portal build. So not only do you get a bunch of in game stuff to explore, you get a bunch of Lego to build a new back onto your Lego Dimensions portal!

Lego Fantastic Beasts Gateway

Along with a Newt Scamander figure, you also get a creature multi build which can be turned into a Niffler, a Sinister Scorpion, or a Vicious Vulture. As with all multi build goodies, these do actually save to the figures base. So when you rebuild the creature figure, you can then place them on the games portal to save that builds data.

Fantastic Beasts Figures

Personally I love when WB has releases like this. I remember long ago when Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King was released in theaters. After we’d watched the movie, I was able to surprise my wife with the video game out in the car. It’s fantastic having simultaneous releases like this.

Last night we were actually treated to a Fantastic Beasts event in downtown Toronto! As guests of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment we were able to check out some of the outfits from the movie on display and even play some multiplayer action in the battle arena this pack unlocks! We will have full coverage coming up soon on the event itself.

In the meantime, check out this Meet That Hero video featuring Gandalf introducing us to Fantastic Beasts!

Lego Dimensions Gremlins Trailer Featuring Marceline

Posted on November 10, 2016 by Les Major

Marceline and Gizmo

Keeping fun and enjoyable, Lego Dimensions is rolling out even more content later this month! Already the likes of A-Team, Mission Impossible, Ghostbusters (2016), and even Harry Potter have joined the cross franchise ranks. Of course the best of all of this content is the ability to unlock adventure worlds which are typically big free roam stages that allow you to quest around a big Lego level based on that franchise. Unlocking them is really simplistic and even cost effective as well. All you need is any character from a specific Franchise to unlock that adventure world. So even if you don’t want to play the Adventure Time story level, you can just get Marceline and pop into the Adventure Time Adventure World.

On the 18th of November, Lego Dimensions adds the Gremlins team pack to the lineup. Team packs are the mid range sets that come with two vehicles and two characters. They don’t unlock a level, but they do unlock an Adventure World. New to this years expansions is also Battle Arenas. We actually played a bit of the Battle Arena for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in downtown Toronto last night at a wonderful event for the movie, but we’ll have more about that later.

Gremlins Team Pack

Marceline the Vampire Queen is also joining the cast, of course with her axe guitar. She is a Toys R Us timed exclusive, available there also on the 18th. Marceline will be in a fun pack that features her and an additional three build figure.

Till these awesome new sets are released, enjoy their Meet That Hero trailer!

Posted on June 2, 2016 by Les Major

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a new trailer today for the upcoming June 28th release of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This character profile highlights BB-8 in a short but sweet video. While the game in general seems to be a retelling of thew hit movie, there has been mention of additional story content as well. It seems the game will bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens with some backstory to the new cast.

That aside, here is a look at the new BB-8 trailer:

Batman: Arkham HD Collection Leaked For June Release On PS4 / Xbox One

Posted on April 19, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

RockSteady’s original two Batman Arkham games will be re-released in a new Batman Arkham  HD Collection for the PS4 and Xbox One according to a GameStop employee.  The collection will reportedly include 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum  and 2011’s Batman: Arkham City with graphical improvements and optimization for both platforms.  It will also include all of the previously released DLC for both titles as well. It will be available for pre-order later today with a release date set for June 10th.

I reviewed RockSteady‘s last game, Batman: Arkham Knight on PS4 last summer. Here is what I had to say on that game:

“At the end of the day Batman: Arkham Knight is a solid open world title that packs in a number of different side activities and main story missions that will keep players engaged for many hours. The larger open world environments are a welcomed change of pace for the Arkham series but arbitrary gating of new territory tied to story missions is something that I had hoped Arkham Knight wouldn’t have continued. The writing in Arkham Knight  is also problematic in how it handles its female characters and falling clearly into trope territory while leaving Batman as an un-relatable avatar that exists solely to facilitate the game’s excellent combat.”

Previously released DLC for Arkham City included: Several skins for batman packaged as a Skin Pack, an optional Challenge Room pack that included The Bat Cave and Joker’s Carnival and a playable NightWing pack that included a new playabale character and challenge maps.

Previously released DLC for Arkham Asylum included: Several challenge maps – Dem Bones, Crime Alley, Heart of Darkness, Hothouse Prey and the previously PS4 / OSX exclusive The Joker Challenge Map collection.

Mad Max Road Rages Onto PS4 / Xbox One / Windows PC

Posted on September 2, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Avalanche Software and Warner Bros Interactive have kicked things into overdrive with the release of Mad Max for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This new open world action game puts players in the role of Max as he is confronted by the current warlord of gastown, Scrotus, as his iconic car -the interceptor – is destroyed and Max is left for dead.  Players must complete main story missions as well as explore the Wasteland for side activities to upgrade their abilities, scavenge for scrap and supplies to upgrade their new ride – the Magnum Opus.

Peter Wyse of Warner Bros Interactive’s Production and Development Division had this to say about the game:

“Avalanche Studios has created an expansive, beautiful open world environment that comes to life with a brand new story for Mad Max.”

Mad Max is available at physical retailers and digitally through the Xbox Live Market Place, PlayStation Store and Steam for Windows.

Dying Light | Review

Posted on February 8, 2015 by Les Major

Taking the zombie survival genre we’ve come to know and love, then making it into an open world adventure that lies somewhere between Mirror’s Edge and Dead Rising, this is a fantastic title! There’s something familiar but unique in the first person presentation of Dying Light’s parkour style gameplay. As a runner for a group of survivors you’ll venture out into the zombie infested fictional city of Harran. So what makes this such an experience? Read on to find out.

First off, the parkour style gameplay really sets Dying Light aside. Picture it as similar to some of the action you may have experienced in Mirror’s Edge, mixed with a first person Assassin’s Creed style climbing setup. It’s really something to take a running leap off of a stories tall building with the intent to grab a balcony in the distance. The game encourages you to look toward the ledge you want to grab and this is very much how the mechanic works. You do need to press and hold a shoulder button as well, but otherwise you’ll just jump. Focusing on your goal allows the engine to know where you want to go.Read More

The Dark Knight swoops his way onto the brand new Xbox One & PlayStation 4 this Fall with the release of Batman: Arkham Knight. LOTR Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Gameplay Surfaces

Posted on January 23, 2014 by Les Major

GameSpot has released some gameplay footage that shows what Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s new Lord of the Rings title Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks like from Monolith Productions. So far it seems to be somewhat Assassin’s Creed inspired with random rival generation which makes Orc foes that you build a history against called the Nemesis System. All this taking place between The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Interestingly, this is possibly the first non canon LOTR video game. Read on for the video!Read More
