Batman: Arkham Knight Slips Out of The Shadows On June 2nd, 2015

Posted on September 10, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Batman is set to ride down the streets of gotham in his sweet batmobile next  spring with the release of Batman: Arkham Knight on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  Warner Brothers interactive has confirmed a release date of June 2nd, 2015 for the caped crusader’s next adventure , which means that we have about eight and a half months to wait before we can put on the cowell once again.

Warner Brothers announced two special editions of Arkham Knight. The first is the Limited Edition which includes an 80 page art book, a limited edition steel case, The New 52 skin pack and a Batman statue. The Batmobile edition includes the artbook alongside a Batman: Arkham Knight Issue #0 comic book and a pretty sweet looking transformable Batmobile statue.

A limited edition of Arkham Knight will set you back $119.99 Canadian while the Batmobile edition is quite a bit more expensive at $229.99!  Both of these editions will be available in North America – Europe and Oceanic regions will also see the release of Arkham Origins on PC as well.

Warner Bros interactive provided us with some promotional images of both editions which you can check out after the jump.

Injustice: Gods Among Us has been out for a week, and for some, it may be too soon to start discussing downloadable content. Well, not for Ed Boon, the creative director at NetherRealm Studios, developer of Injustice. Ed has confirmed that Lobo, everyone’s favorite alien bounty hunter, will be the first character available to purchase. In addition to Lobo, three additional characters are planned, and the internet is full of speculation as to which characters will be revealed. The staff here at Broken Joysticks has cast their votes, and here are our top picks.

Tried The Injustice: Gods Among Us Demo Yet?

Posted on April 9, 2013 by Les Major

Last week a demo was released for PS3 and Xbox Gold Members for NetherRealm’s latest fighter, Injustice. Allowing gamers to not only give the fighting system a whirl to see how it differs from Mortal Kombat, but also to play as either Wonder Woman, Batman, or Lex Luthor, in a four tier fight leading to Doomsday. The demo itself only focuses on the Gotham rooftop arena which leads down into the streets too if you power slam your opponent off the far right of the building.

This is a wonderful taste, but don’t forget about the cinematic storyline and S.T.A.R. Labs challenge mode that will be coming in the full game. All this in just one week from today! So brush up on your skills using the background of Injustice to your tactical advantage and get ready for a DC Comics adventure unlike anything you’ve seen before. Injustice will be released April 16th.

Injustice: Gods Among Us On The Wii U GamePad

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

At the recent WB Interactive press event we attended to check out Injustice I was able to confirm the role the Wii U GamePad would play NetherRealm’s new fighter. Fortunately it’s quite a solid concept mainly focusing on displaying your characters special moves on the view screen. This is a great way to keep you in the action and allow reference at a quick glance. Gamers can also switch from TV to GamePad play if they wish, allowing for play on the controllers screen.

Otherwise the Wii U version will control like it’s PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts. I unfortunately forgot to ask about multiplayer on the Wii U version but some game sites are reporting it as a two player game. We’ll definitely update gamers on the status as soon as we know.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is due out April 16th.

Superheroes Battle It Out For Fan Votes In WB’s New Campaign

Posted on February 5, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

We already knew that our favorite DC Comics characters were going to duke it out in NetherRealm Studio’s Injustice: Gods Among Us, but what we didn’t know was that the WB planned to launch a popularity contest weeks before the game’s release. Obviously this is meant as a way to drum up hype and support for the title before its April release, but this certainly is a neat approach.

Dubbed the “Battle Arena,” every week for the next 10 weeks, Warner Bros will pit two characters against each other, with fan votes determining the winner. Each week a pre-match video will be released showcasing the combatant for that round. Fan opinion is gauged through Facebook and Twitter and a final video showcasing the results of fan opinion is released that same Thursday.

So the whole thing is kind of like March Madness, except with super heroes instead of basketball teams!

We’ve got the first pre-match video in the embedded player after the jump. Who will you vote for me? I think every vote I will cast will be for Batman, because… he’s fucking Batman, I don’t need another reason.

Correction: The original version of this post incorrectly stated that Injustice was being published by Konami. The game is in fact published by Warner Bros. InteractiveRead More
