Gun Game Set To Return in Black Ops 3

Posted on October 16, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Black Ops III

Call of Duty has always been multiplayer focused, so its no surprise that in the games 11 years there have been a few experiments with game modes. Some modes have been successful, other have not. Gun game was one such mode. Some games had it others didn’t, today Treyarch confirmed that the mode will indeed be in Blackops 3. In a recent interview with EBgames Australia David Vonderhaar, the Game Design Director on Black Ops III’s said

Black-Ops-III-Drones-

“The game does have a Gun Game, there is some one shot stuff going on in Gun Game. But as you would expect from a Treyarch Call of Duty multiplayer title, a complete custom game set with being able to share and save those variant game modes. What we like is the idea that people can take the game, take the game engine, take the game rules, modify them to suit and make them accessible to all your friends. We are going to take the best of those ideas and mess around with them in the ‘Bonus’ category of playlist.”

I for on look forward to running and gunning in this mode, which is fast and always fun.

Call of Duty Black Ops III Shadows of Evil Prologue Trailer

Posted on October 12, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Black Ops III

What do a washed up magician, a private eye, a cabaret singer looking for her shot at the big time and an aging fighter have to do with each other? They’re the brand new protagonists in the latest Call of Duty Zombies experience – Shadows of Evil – shipping with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Activision released the prologue trailer for this new mode and honestly it has a pretty neat 30s/40s Noir Vibe to the whole thing – I am really digging it. Let’s hope that each of these four characters get some growth over the various Zombies episodes because each of them seem to have a story to tell. Whether that story is about exposing corruption in the government, fighting for a second chance or rising to the top of the entertainment each character has their own unique ambitions.

Alongside the trailer Activision released the following summary of Shadows of Evil:

Shadows of Evil introduces four unwitting characters who must uncover the secrets and challenges laid out for them by a shadowy figure, who offers them a path to redemption. Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, and Ron Perlman star in Shadows of Evil, a new survival co-op experience only available in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Unravel the secrets and explore a massive 1940s, film noir-inspired world in the deepest Zombies experience to date.

We’ll have more on Call of Duty: Black Ops II ahead of its release.

Black Ops III Officially Unveiled

Posted on April 27, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Yesterday Activision and Treyarch took the wraps off of Call of Duty: Black Ops III with a reveal trailer that has amassed over 6 million views on YouTube in the past 24 hrs! Activision has also revealed that the game will be released on November 6th 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

In terms of game modes Black Ops III’s campaign mode can not only be played alone but also co-operatively with up to three friends with the new 4 player Co-Op campaign feature. Fans expecting the popular Zombies mode, which Treyarch pioneered with the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, can rest assured that the mode will be making a return. Activision mentioned that the Zombies mode will actually have its own progression system separate from the one used in the multiplayer mode.

In the world of Black Ops III a new type of bio-engineered super solider is being developed thanks to technologies like the Direct Neural Interface (DNI). Hopefully the game will try to tackle some of the less military focused questions that the teaser trailer brought up in regards to what rapid technological advancement could mean for the human race.Read More

Black Ops III Full Reveal Coming April 26th

Posted on April 9, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activision sent out a cryptic press release this morning that simply linking to a YouTube video with the hashtag #BackInBlack. Anyone who is familiar with the Call of Duty franchise will recognize the stylized “III” up in the header of this article as being very similar to the font used to promote Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We’ll find out what the pair of companies has planned when the game’s world reveal takes center stage on April 26!

It is important to note that Activision also partnered with popular Advanced Warfare YouTuber TmarTn for this reveal. Perhaps we will get more small glimpses of the game on his channel before the big reveal.

Earlier in the year there were a number of rumors that the next Call of Duty game would take place during World War 2. Perhaps Black Ops III will have us hoping between the near future and the battles of the Second World War?

More as it develops…

Call of Duty: Black Ops II | Review

Posted on November 21, 2012 by Jason Fayta

Version tested: Xbox 360

It’s that time of year again. The days are becoming darker; your wallet is getting lighter, and your waist is growing larger. To curb these seasonal blues, Activision is here with Call of Duty: Black Ops II (hereafter Black Ops 2), the ninth entry in the series and the fourth developed by Treyarch. You may not remember there being nine Call of Duty games, and that’s because Activision is cognizant of the stigma sequelitis projects. After Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, they dropped the sequential numerical approach and adopted subtitles to differentiate installments. Besides, Call of Duty 9: Black Ops II sounds absurd, and cynical gamers may be less likely to demur Black Ops 2 as opposed to Call of Duty 9.Read More

You Got My Mass Effect 2 In Your Black Ops II!

Posted on November 13, 2012 by Seung Lee

Retail PC copies of the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops II come with second installation discs. That may seem perfectly normal, but these discs seem to contain data for BioWare’s Mass Effect 2. People everywhere, from Steam to Reddit, have been talking about this issue. There’s even a video on YouTube showcasing the huge blunder. PC players aren’t completely out of luck, however, because the game can still be installed (albeit, very slowly) with a Steam key that comes with each copy.

One has to wonder though–how, exactly, do you go about making such a careless mistake like this? Check out the YouTube video here (warning: there’s excessive profanity).
