NES Gets Remixed

Posted on December 18, 2013 by Jason Nason

What do you get when you put Link in the middle of the original Donkey Kong? What if you take a level of the original Super Mario Bros. and play it in shadows? Or how about flipping the level so that you run to the left? That’s the idea behind NES Remix, a new downloadable title on the Wii U eShop which takes sixteen classic NES games and gives you a whole new experience. Select parts from 16 classic NES games have been remixed with new challenges. Get Mario to the goal pole while the level blinks out. Defeat an

Many seemed to be somewhat underwhelmed when that was the only news that Nintendo let slip at the VGX Awards, but when is the news of a new playable character not great news for an established franchise? Potential new characters for Super Smash Bros. are always top of mind for many people so this news was good news. Cranky Kong has been around as a background character since the beginning and now

The Legitimacy Of Youtubers

Posted on December 16, 2013 by Eric Bastelak

Tragedy, it is the only word to describe what has happened to the internet over the past week. You Tube’s recent policy changes when it comes to copyright claims are quite literally destroying lives. People like to scoff say I’m being melodramatic which, unfortunately is a far more terrifying revelation. We as gamers and lovers of a medium are turning on those who have brought legitimacy to our medium. Why have we done such a thing? That is what I truly don’t understand. What drives people to tell e-sports competitors or online personalities to get a real job? If that

The Witch and the Hundred Knights Dated For The West

Posted on December 14, 2013 by Les Major

Unlike previously reported by me last year, the west will be getting The Witch and the Hundred Nights this coming March in 2014. It seems I was a bit over excited before and confused the Japanese release date with the western one. To my understanding, the game has never been delayed. The game which was released in Japan this past summer is a PS3 title. Focusing on marsh witch Metallia and her hundred knights she can summon, Kotaku compared the gameplay to the likes of classic Zelda adventures from the NES and SNES era. However you’ll be using combos and

National Streetpass Weekend Starts a Day Early

Posted on December 13, 2013 by Jason Nason

If you have a Nintendo 3DS you likely already know what StreetPass is, but here’s a brief explanation. Basically if you carry your Nintendo 3DS around with you, either active or in sleep mode, you can receive Mii information as well as game data from others around you who are doing the same thing. If you both share the same title installed on your system you will automatically share data, special items and more. But you have to have StreetPass enabled. Nintendo has a little explanation no how to do that on their website. Trust me; it’s simple. At Nintendo
