Neko Atsume Update [1.7.0]: Three new cats and tons of toys!

Posted on July 14, 2016 by Renee Gittins

Right in the midst of the summer heat, Neko Atsume has released another big update! New goodies, backgrounds and kitties have joined the ranks of the casual cat-collecting game, along with some other hidden treats!

There’s definitely a general beach theme to this update, full of seashells and even pirates!

First, let’s look at all of the new items:

  • Beach Ball – 85 Silver
  • Treasure-box – 400 Silver
  • Luxury Treasure-box – 20 Gold
  • Dino Deluxe – 999 Silver
  • Grass Cushion (Red) – 200 Silver
  • Grass Cushion (Navy) – 200 Silver
  • Aluminium Bowl – 130 Silver
  • Manta Gel Mat – 450 Silver
  • Mister Penguin – 300 Silver
  • Shell Tunnel (Pink) – 400 Silver
  • Shell Tunnel (Blue) – 400 Silver
  • Shell Tunnel (White) – 400 Silver

At 999 Silver, the Dino Deluxe now beats out the Tower of Treats as the most expensive Silver item. It does lend itself to some pretty adorable scratching, but seems like it has a low cat to space ratio, especially in comparison to the Tower of Treats.

You may have also noted a cute little pig in the goodies picture! It is a katori senko, a holder for insect repelling incense coils, commonly used during the summer to keep pesky mosquitoes away from homes.

The katori senko will likely be a seasonal change much like the snow that appeared in Neko Atsume during the winter. Another seasonal change is also visible in this latest patch, flowering cacti in the Western Style house design.

And, last, but certainly not least, let’s meet our adorable new kitty pals!

There is a new rare cat and two others. The rare is the swash buckling Bengal Jack! A pirate themed kitty lured out by the Luxury Treasure-box. His two companions are Pasty and Chip!

Bengal Jack will even find other kitties in his treasure chest! Or maybe he’s just looking for some booty.

Lovely Planet Follow-Up Focuses On Arcade Action

Posted on July 14, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Do you remember Tiny Build’s 2014 colorful FPS Lovely Planet? Well the publisher is back with a direct sequel to their heart filled, pastel colored shooter that focuses on FPS action. With four unique worlds for players to explore Lovely Planet Arcade offers up hundreds of levels that will test your jumping, strafing and shooting skills. Once you’ve beaten the arcade mode all of the levels can be played in either Fast or Mirror mode for an additional challenge.

Lovely Planet Arcade is available for pre-order on Steam for $5.99 USD but if you want a taste of Lovely Planet’s action without putting down any cash Tiny Build is giving away the 2014 original in partnership with Bundle Stars & PC Gamer– so make sure to head on over there and redeem your free key while supplies last.

In their official blog post Tinybuild described Lovely Planet Arcade like this:

“2014’s critical-hit Lovely Planet had us flying through the skies, carelessly spraying bullets in the clouds. It’s time now to hand in your jump boots because we’re going back to the shooting range for some old-school action in Lovely Planet Arcade! Buckle up for close quarter combat through tight corners sprinkled with trigger-happy baddies eager to send you back to the starting line!”

Check out the launch trailer for Lovely Planet Arcade below and let us know what you think of the game in the comments section.

Nintendo announces Mini Collector’s Edition NES

Posted on July 14, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Its what you always wanted right? Ok, maybe not. But its a good start. After the success of Pokemon Go it seems Nintendo have decided that cashing in on nostalgia will be their business strategy. I am not at all surprised to see Nintendo announce something like this. Its a good time for retro. 30 retro games, in a nice tiny package, just in time for holiday! Its a good time to be a Nintendo shareholder.

Ok so what is it already

Its an NES, but tiny, and with an HDMI port. Its going to be ready packed with 30 games. Nintendo of Canada’s General Manager and Senior Director Pierre-Paul Trepanier said of the device.  “We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo’s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers.”

Nintendo says this is a near identical mini replica, I assume the buttons wont work, as the thing is literally palm sized, and that also means all the games are emulated. Two player support is confirmed with a second controller costing 10$

The NES Classic will be available to purchase in stores on Nov. 11 for $59.99. All of games available to play on the console are listed below.

This looks like something that I would find at walgreens

What games?

The system comes packaged with an HDMI cable, an AC adapter, and one NES Classic Controller. But you really just want to know the full list of 30 games, right? Here it is.

·      Balloon Fight

·      BUBBLE BOBBLE

·      Castlevania

·      Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest

·      Donkey Kong

·      Donkey Kong Jr.

·      DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE

·      Super Mario Bros. 2

·      Super Mario Bros. 3

Man thats a lot of games, if your still reading I applaud you, I know i stopped after about 10. Some good stuff in there including the two Zelda titles and the three Mario titles. Since the games are just emulated im guessing plenty of people will love this thing for homebrew. So the list of titles may expand.
