Lightning Returns Demo Available today on Xbox 360 and PS3

Square Enix announced today that a playable demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is now available for download on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As a special bonus, players who download the PlayStation Network demo will automatically receive the Utsusemi Garb DLC, which includes the Heavenly Fan weapon and the Kaminari (meaning “Lightning” in Japanese) shield item. The DLC pack will download with the demo and will be unlocked in the full retail game on February 11. The DLC pack will also be available to purchase for other customers later this year.

The demo puts players in control of Lightning as she traverses the chaos-infested Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow. Players will experience Lightning’s new customization options and master the game’s completely overhauled battle system. For those who activate the Outerworld services and submit their battle scores of the final fight against Zaltys, the ‘Siegfried’ outfit will be unlocked in the full retail game.

Bravely Default Story Trailer Released

Nintendo released a story trailer for their upcoming Square Enix produced RPG Bravely Default. Our excitement is building as the game is finally nearing its Western release.

Dark times have befallen the land of Luxendarc, and its fate is in the hands of Tiz Arrior and his three comrades. Mold them into heroes as you take a fantastic journey in Square Enix’s highly acclaimed RPG for the Nintendo 3DS system. The innovative combat system lets you shield yourself with the Default command or take a risk by unleashing multiple attacks at once with the Brave command. You can customize the characters your way, and can choose from 24 possible jobs for your characters, then build their levels and abilities.

Ultimate HD Edition of Resident Evil 4 Coming to PC

Capcom announced today that the ultimate HD edition of Resident Evil 4 will be coming for PC digital download on Steam globally and available as a retail version for Windows PC in Europe. PC gamers will be able to play the survival horror masterpiece in the highest visual fidelity ever with HD running at a smooth 60 frames per second for the first time. Resident Evil 4 will be available on February 28, 2014 for $19.99/€19.99.

Added to the announcement the Steam pre-order campaign also launches today which includes a digital soundtrack with more than 60 tracks and a digital artbook for those that purchase early. Resident Evil 4 on Steam will include Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and full game controller support.
