Codemasters Reveal European Destinations for GRID 2

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

North American isn’t the only continent you’ll visit in a finely tuned racing machine in Codemaster’s GRID 2. The publisher unveieled the Grid 2: European Experience today, a brief video showcasing several  European cities playing host to racers in a variety of modes. Get your engines ready to rev, because if you’re into racing titles, this video is for you.

Street racers will be able to burn rubber on sections of Paris, blurring past major landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. If track racing is more  of your thing, Codemasters have you covered, with the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal. This $250+ million dollar track was built in 2008, and it will be making its console debut in GRID 2.

Along with the announcement of these tracks the devs also sent a sampling of some of the European cars that you’ll be able to drive. Check out the YouTube video and car list after the jump.Read More

Crytek USA Looking To Buy Darksiders Rights

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

Fans of the Darksiders series may still have hope yet as Crytek USA looks into buying the franchises rights. Crytek USA is company made up of past employees of Vigil, the studio who created Darksiders in the first place. I definitely hope Darksiders ends up back with it’s creators so we can see the natural intended progression of the series.

Final bids on Darksiders and several other THQ series such as Red Faction and Homeworld are due by April 15th. MX is also being sold seperately like the previously mentioned titles while two bundles of additional titles are being sold together such as Destroy All Humans! and Summoner that make up the internal bundle.

While we’re on the topic, I really hope Red Faction gets picked up! The Geomod engine is a fantastic tool which I’d assume would come included in the sale. I couldn’t get enough of Red Faction: Guerrilla!

Injustice: Gods Among Us On The Wii U GamePad

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

At the recent WB Interactive press event we attended to check out Injustice I was able to confirm the role the Wii U GamePad would play NetherRealm’s new fighter. Fortunately it’s quite a solid concept mainly focusing on displaying your characters special moves on the view screen. This is a great way to keep you in the action and allow reference at a quick glance. Gamers can also switch from TV to GamePad play if they wish, allowing for play on the controllers screen.

Otherwise the Wii U version will control like it’s PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts. I unfortunately forgot to ask about multiplayer on the Wii U version but some game sites are reporting it as a two player game. We’ll definitely update gamers on the status as soon as we know.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is due out April 16th.

Sequel To Atelier Ayesha Coming Soon In Japan

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

Both Brandon here on Broken Joysticks review, and myself in Darkain Arts Gamers review found a lot to enjoy in Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. Over in Japan, a sequel is already underway to be released on June 27th this year!

The sequel is called Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. It apparently starts right where Atelier Ayesha ends off and features two lead characters. Both can be selected at the start and play out through the same story, but from their own perspective. The game will also feature multiple endings and use the LTGL engine from Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series. In game battles will include a six person party with front and back rows.

Read on for the trailer, but of course keep in mind you may want to skip it if you haven’t finished Atelier Ayesha yet.Read More
