Grand Theft Auto V Hijacks PS4 & Xbox One On Nov 18th

Posted on September 13, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Remember when RockStar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto V would be coming to current generation consoles like the PlayStation 4 sometime soon? The studio revealed this week that the latest GTA will be making its way on to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18th 2014 and will be available on Windows PC on January 27th 2015!

Will there be better graphics? Most definitely, but that is not the only improvement that RockStar is working on for GTA’s 8th generation debut. Multiplayer matches will now feature up to 30 players on PS4 & Xbox One,  they’ve also added new vehicles, new weapons, new activities and enhanced damage / weather systems.

Did you take a trip to Los Santos when GTA V was released last September? If you didn’t, then the current-gen version sounds like the best way to experience the latest GTA. Check out several screenshots of GTA V for Xbox One / PS4 after the jump. We’ve also got the full press-release from RockStar games!

GTA V – Physics or Scripted Event?

Posted on July 9, 2013 by Les Major

The Grand Theft Auto V gameplay video released today is packed with tons of little things to explore and consider about what possibly could be in the game. One of the scenes stood out to me the most was this physics moment in the image above. Is this actually how real heavy vehicles will respond to some obstacles in game, or just a scripted event in a cut scene? We don’t know yet. However, any kind of destruction of walls like this in a GTA game is quite an exciting possibility. Things usually tend to be quite solid and this would be quite a gameplay changer when considering your persuit routes.

What do you think? Just a cut scene, or something more?

Grab Some Popcorn, It’s Grand Theft Auto V Gameplay Time!

Posted on July 9, 2013 by Les Major

Rockstar Games released a gameplay video for Grand Theft Auto V today which as usual is filled with hints at unmentioned content, lots of features being explained and displayed, plus a look at just how beautiful that new game world looks in motion.

It’s quite interesting, since I think this is the first time we’ve really seen a video like this from Rockstar. Usually there’s lots of trailers we all go crazy for, and then the game is released. There’s just so much in this sequel, it’s good and important to see them taking the game to go over it personally with gamers. The video below has just so much to explore! It’s definitely worth the time to give it a closer inspection.Read More

New GTA V Details Confirmed

Posted on May 2, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Grand Theft Auto V isn’t due out until September, you can bet that new information will keep flowing in on a regular basis to keep you somewhat satisfied – though we all know it’s never going to be enough until the game is in our hand. But, nothing we can do about that so what we can do is bring you some of the new details.

Just yesterday Rockstar released three new trailer (which are combined together in our news story, you can find here) showing off a little backstory to each of the three playable characters. It appears that this new iteration of GTA will incorporate several RPG elements by looking at the list after the jump. Each of the three characters will have skills and all three of the protagonists will be better in some skills than the other two as well. I think my favorite thing about the new details is that the underwater areas are now a living breathing ecosystem that you can explore and even find treasure in….Read More

What Does A Rich Guy, Gangster, & A Redneck Have In Common…?

Posted on April 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

They are all of the main protagonist’s you will play in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto, of course! I’m willing to bet that many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and I have to say that I’m including in the general consensus of that as well. Every time Rockstar announces another GTA game, I think about what could really do to make the next installment even better? Turns out Rockstar always has an answer to that question.

This time Rockstar will place you in the lives of not one, not two, but three main protagonists. There have been multi-character stories before in games, but never in a GTA game. It should be very interesting to see how all three of these guys eventually weave together in the web that Rockstar is spinning. Just hopefully it will be well balanced and not jump around all over the place.

Today, Rockstar released a trailer that give a little bit of background on each of the protagonists and it looks like Grand Theft Auto V will continue the trend of amazing games in the GTA franchise. To see the trailer, keep reading after the break.Read More

GTA V Trailer 2 Analysis Video

Posted on December 11, 2012 by Jesse Lord

Let’s talk a bit about a little video game franchise you guys may have heard about.

For those that might not know, my love for all things Grand Theft Auto runs quite deep.  I helped to start GTA Hood, the IGN Grand Theft Auto portal site, and worked there from the beginning until IGN decided to shut all portal sites down earlier this year.  I’ve had the chance to visit Rockstar Games on three different occasions as a result of working with the site, to preview their upcoming games (EfLC expansion/Red Dead Redemption, L. A. Noire and Max Payne 3), and at these fansite events I had a chance to meet and interface with other major players in the Rockstar/GTA fansite world.  When IGN did decide to close the doors of GTA Hood, I knew I wanted to reach out to one of the other fansite owners and see if I could join their ranks.  Long story short, I ended up landing at GTANet, home to GTA game-specific sites and also the owner of GTAForums, the largest GTA forum on the interwebs.

So why am I telling you this?  Why should you care?Read More

GTA V Trailer 2 Thoughts and Breakdown

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Jesse Lord

So by now hopefully you’ve seen the amazing Trailer 2 for GTA V.  Here is a run-down of my analysis of it, some predictions based on what I’ve seen, and any differences between this one and the official announcement trailer shown earlier this year.

[youtube id=”nhVHTXAWlew” width=”600″ height=”338″]

The trailer opens with shots of the opulent neighborhood that Michael, one of the series’ three protagonists, lives in – and from there it’s simply a whirlwind of clips and shots, giving you an idea of just what kind of a ride you’re in for.  Here are some bulleted observations:Read More

Game Informer’s GTA V Impressions Video

Posted on November 13, 2012 by Jesse Lord

I’m almost drooling as I contemplate the fact that a new GTA V video is coming out in less than twenty-four hours!  I can’t stand it.  While I’m sitting over here trying to calm myself down, why don’t you all go ahead and check out this almost-half-hour video where Game Informer reps that got to see GTA V in action talk through their impressions.

[youtube id=”2LwzlQ7vZLQ” width=”600″ height=”338″]

And keep your eyes peeled for the new trailer, set to debut tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM EST.  It’s going to be a good day.

GTA 5 Screens Have Planes and Automobiles, Trains Maybe Later

Posted on August 20, 2012 by Jeff Wade

Slowly but surely, Rockstar seems to be pulling back the curtain on Grand Theft Auto 5, offering pictorial proof that, yes it is a thing and that it is very likely to have numerous vehicles, presumably for you to steal.

Mind you what’s there is not incredibly much, but in a blog post entitled “Transportation,” these three screenshots offer a hint to what we can expect from the anticipated sequel.
